Twenty years ago, Susan Zhao escaped the mountains and married Zack Huo, the richest man in Crownridge. Twenty years later, her idle and wayward brother James Zhao latched onto Julia Ma, the daughter of a senior executive at the Huo Group, and demanded a betrothal gift of $300,000 to get married. James Zhao and his mother Helen deliberately devised a plan, using Grandma's name as an excuse to trick Susan back home, intending to sell her and her daughter to raise the betrothal money.
