Today we take a look at 17 Paranormal Police Encounters Caught on Camera that no one can explain.
This compilation features real police bodycam, dashcam and station CCTV footage, from a ghost girl on a staircase to unexplained voices inside empty buildings. We examine paranormal encounters recorded during real calls: prison doors opening on their own, shadow figures behind inmates and screams from dark woods that even backup couldn't explain.
Whether you are a skeptic or a believer, these encounters offer a chilling look at what officers face on the night shift: jails, empty stations and lonely roads where the unexplainable found them first. Each clip gives a raw, unfiltered perspective from the people we call when something goes wrong.
Which one gave you the chills? Have you ever caught something on camera you couldn't explain? Share your story below.

00:07For those of you who haven't heard or don't remember, on August 13th, 2018, a man named
00:14Chris Watts made national headlines after taking the lives of his two daughters, Bella
00:18and Celeste, and his wife, Shanann, who was 15 weeks pregnant.
00:23Two police investigators and a special canine handler now searched the Watts residence on
00:28August 14th, one day after Shanann was reported missing.
00:32They are confident that their dog will be able to sniff out any DNA evidence that Chris
00:37Watts may have tried to scrub away.
00:39What they find instead is an abundance of paranormal evidence as recorded by their chest-mounted
00:44camera, like this part where I hear the unmistakable laughter of a child as they pass through Bella's
00:50room at 12 minutes and 32 seconds.
00:52Listen for yourself, there's no denying it.
01:05I'm hoping that was a motion-activated doll or something, but I doubt it, especially
01:10given what else they hear in the next room over.
01:16A voice says something like, I have Cece, which is short for Celeste, and they are standing
01:22in the room of Celeste, too.
01:24Then again, I think it could be the canine handler saying something under her breath as she checks
01:29the closet, so maybe it's not paranormal after all.
01:32Things get weird once again as they enter the garage.
01:35Another voice.
01:36A woman this time.
01:50But it could be the officer whispering something to herself.
01:54Moments later, they pass by these containers in the garage.
01:57Containers Chris was believed to have used to transport the bodies from the house into
02:01his truck.
02:02The dog sniffs them, but everything looks clean.
02:12As they are walking away, they record this.
02:22It's a wail of agony coming from all directions at once.
02:28But that's not all.
02:30The most compelling evidence occurs in the very beginning, but I've stepped for last.
02:34Check out the top of the stairway on the left when they first enter.
02:38There is some movement that I find very strange.
02:40It could be a trick of the light playing across the rails, but I see a little girl rushing
02:45down the steps.
02:46A girl with a short haircut.
02:48She vanishes before she reaches the bottom.
02:51And this event also coincides with a shadow figure sighting recorded by police on a different
02:56night after the home security alarm mysteriously went off on its own.
03:01It's in the same area and roughly the same size as before.
03:04A poor girl, lost, looking down at the entrance and disappearing before she reaches the bottom
03:10of the stairs.
03:1316.
03:14Ready to hear what a real demonic possession sounds like?
03:18In December of 2022, police intervention was called to a village in Poland when a woman
03:24suspected of possession had barricaded herself in the attic.
03:42After trying to convince the woman to come down, this happens.
04:00When the police try to approach her, she gets aggressive.
04:18By the YouTuber's account, this woman did not previously suffer from any mental health
04:23or personality disorders and was not under the influence of any substances.
04:30.
04:43Yet, she continues throwing stuff at them and roaring demonically.
04:48Despite not seeing the victim, this is some of the most authentic possession footage I've
04:53ever witnessed.
04:54I hope the police were able to get the woman the help she needs.
05:1215.
05:22Movement was detected on a motion alarm system, and now a safe
05:27officer named Beam32getsum tries to convince himself that he's not scared as he approaches
05:33a building known to be very scary and haunted.
05:36Now some people around here say that it's haunted and blah blah blah blah blah.
05:41I don't think it's haunted.
05:44That's just stuff that scary people say.
05:46It's not haunted.
05:47That's a good story.
05:48He almost successfully calms himself down until he gets to the entrance and finds the
05:53door wide open.
06:10He knows he's in trouble when his flashlight begins flickering while he walks down a long
06:16dark hall, a classic sign of the paranormal rapidly draining his equipment of the battery life.
06:36He steps into a well-lit hall and waits for backup when the paranormal strangeness ramps
06:41up, and it's all caught on video.
06:58The lights in the hallway turn off and on, much like his flashlight was doing. He runs into
07:04an actual police car at the end, so I think there might have been real paranormal activity
07:08caught on camera at this haunted building.
07:1214.
07:14The aggression with which some ghosts make their presence known can frighten even the bravest
07:20among us. Posted to the Ghosts subreddit by MrMiracleBR, the Redditor says this clip was
07:27tweeted by a police officer and reveals a strange, seemingly paranormal encounter during a police
07:32raid in Brazil. The footage shows what appears to be an abandoned building. The police approach
07:37to find a door banging repeatedly on its hinge. As they get closer, they see that it's doing
07:43so on its own. No trespassers are around, nothing behind the door but an apparently angry plant.
07:49The man filming scans the door up and down, but nothing seems to explain the banging.
07:55The police hear something clatter to the ground somewhere far off and start running down the
08:00alley. Redditor Ifcelin draws attention to something else creepy in the clip writing,
08:05How come no one is pointing out the girl in the doorway at 38 seconds? Not sure if that's
08:11a girl. In fact, it's unclear what it is. But once you see it, you can't unsee it.
08:16It's very unnerving. Those who don't see it remain skeptical about the seeming paranormal
08:22activity. Redditor BinMedi writes,
08:25Ghosts do this, but they don't do it constantly. Well, there you have it.
08:3113.
08:32These police were patrolling a graveyard at night, expecting to apprehend the living. Instead,
08:39they met the living dead. Published by Kitten City in December of 2021, a pair of officers
08:45are seen walking along a path in the middle of the graveyard. Tombstones on either side
08:51of them. They then hear this horrifying howl.
09:00The male officer leaves his partner in the dust, as they both hurry off. Did they just wake
09:06up a demon? Or is something horrible happening deep beyond the grave? Either way, I can't
09:13say I've seen police run away this quickly before.
09:1712.
09:18It's easy to break out of prison when you're a ghost. Redditor Shahir92 shares this footage
09:25of some paranormal activity that has police officers on edge.
09:41Judging by their reaction, those doors aren't automated.
09:55One officer even takes video footage of it.
10:08So what's going on here? Redditors in the comments have some theories as to what's really
10:13going on here.
10:29Is this just a pressure differential? Or do we have a haunting on our hands? Not a single
10:36loose sheet of paper rustled on the desk. So I'm leaning paranormally. And I think these
10:43police detectives need to investigate this further.
10:4711.
10:48The Denver Metro Protective Services believe they've captured a ghost on body cam. Let's
10:54see for ourselves.
11:13I see shadows as he's moving around too, but I'm not sure what specifically he saw there.
11:19As the clip continues, strange noises are heard.
11:35That banging could be happening in the distance. Or is it closer than he thinks?
11:41What the f*** did I just bump into?
11:46The officer seems incredibly scared as he's leaving.
11:57Safely in the car, he explains why.
12:15Was something following him? The shadow figure in the window suggests to me that he was for
12:20sure being stalked.
12:27I think if this happened to me, I'd be staying far away from this place.
12:3210.
12:34Poncho is patrolling his campus as a security guard.
12:38When he and his partner see some strange activity coming through the window, the lights are flashing
12:44on and off at the same time in every last room on the first floor.
12:49It looks like they are standing outside documenting the event instead of rushing straight in.
12:55And you know what, I don't blame them because I would definitely wait for backup if I saw this too.
13:01Or maybe I would try to find some non-haunted places to work at instead.
13:079.
13:09This dash cam footage was taken from the Garland City Police Department.
13:13A police officer is chasing a car at high speeds.
13:17When things suddenly go off-road, the car has turned into a dead end and is coming up on a
13:23chain link fence.
13:25It looks like the chase is over, but then this happens.
13:32A fence at the end means no way out. Or does it?
13:38The car appears to have escaped through a solid chain link fence, with no gate or any other
13:44type of opening to pass through.
13:47Every officer who has reviewed this footage has been completely baffled, and no explanation
13:53has ever been given.
13:55You can tell by the angle of the car's brake lights that it was driving straight the whole
14:00time, and did not swerve around the fence.
14:03Somehow, there's no signs of damage to the fence.
14:07It looks completely untouched.
14:108.
14:11A Russian police officer is roaming the snowy countryside when he comes in close contact with
14:16a creature that has since never been identified.
14:18The officer is travelling at a low rate of speed when suddenly something huge dashes across
14:23his headlights.
14:23The strange figure is only visible for a moment, then it's gone.
14:33Many YouTubers suspect this to be a Russian Yeti.
14:36Others are sure that it's a man in a suit or even someone who is completely naked.
14:40Though this theory is hard to believe because a person in Russia would probably freeze to
14:44death if they stood outside naked for very long.
14:46Look closely and you'll see that whatever it is, it's moving quite fast.
14:50It only takes a thing about 5 or 6 steps to fully get away.
14:54And I should mention that the snow banks on both sides of the tracks appear to be very
14:57deep.
14:58An average sized person would be struggling way more to get over them.
15:01Zoom in and you'll see what looks to be white fur hanging off of its body.
15:05Also, it looks to be hunched over and its arms almost touch the ground.
15:08If this is a costume, it's very convincing.
15:127.
15:13Everyone has an imaginary friend as a child.
15:17But sometimes, that friend is not a figment of one's imagination.
15:22Posted on TikTok, this creepy clip shows an imaginary friend come to life.
15:27A police officer finds a little girl named Ava in the dark, playing around on a swing set.
15:33She appears to be alone.
15:34He radios back to base, saying that he's located the missing girl.
15:39While he can safely assume that he's found her,
15:42he'll also soon discover why she went missing in the first place.
15:46The girl was out paling around with her friend, Juliana.
15:50And Juliana's not done playing.
15:52She suddenly swings back and forth on the swing set beside the little girl.
15:57Only, there's no one there at all.
16:14Is this just a trick of the wind, or did little Ava manage to conjure up a real imaginary friend?
16:21My guess is, this is something sinister and truly paranormal.
16:26I think it's time to call The Exorcist.
16:356.
16:36This is apparently police dashcam footage from Arizona.
16:41The officer is clearly on highway patrol at night.
16:44And after a short while, he takes a turn down a dirt road.
16:47This is where he spots a woman standing alone in the road with some small embers near her feet.
16:53Though it originally appears she is standing with her back turned to the police officer.
16:58Soon after, she lifts up her arms, and there appears to be two glowing eyes facing the officer.
17:04The footage ends shortly after, with no further explanation.
17:08I searched but couldn't find any footage of the incident after this part.
17:13So we may never know what happened next to this officer or this woman with glowing eyes.
17:195.
17:21Police work is, of course, dangerous, especially when it entails the paranormal.
17:27YouTube channel Freaky Watch shares this mysterious police body cam footage.
17:33The original source is unknown.
17:41While on patrol, this police officer starts seeing shadows in and around this abandoned building.
17:54This place definitely gives out some creepy vibes.
18:01Did you see that shadow figure?
18:11Shortly after this sighting, a creepy laugh is captured.
18:24Some in the comments believe both of these things can be explained.
18:41The general consensus in the comments is that the officer is being startled by his own shadow.
18:48Some also think it's edited in.
18:51The laughter, which sounds like a creepy toy to me, also doesn't really blend with the main audio.
18:57I don't know, this could be faked, but I can't be 100% sure.
19:044.
19:06If you've ever been in a bug swarm of any kind, you'll know it can give you chills.
19:12This mayfly swarm is no different.
19:14In fact, it's practically nightmarish.
19:17When the mayflies took over this bridge in Iowa, snowplows were required to unblock the swarm buzzing in the bridge's
19:28path.
19:30In fact, the bridge had been so completely swarmed by the bugs that emergency crews were sent to the area.
19:36The nightmare scene turned into a scary situation after bikers tried to plow through the massive heap of mayflies, but
19:44lost traction.
19:46Luckily, they escaped.
19:47The bridge's clearing was recorded by Tina Franzen as she rode along in her son's police car.
19:54Frazen said of the event,
19:56I've lived in Cebula since 75.
19:59I've never seen that many before.
20:02Ever.
20:02To clear the bugs over the following weeks, it was decided by the Iowa Department of Transportation to keep the
20:10streetlights off near the bridge, as the lights attract the mayflies.
20:14Here's hoping it all worked out for Iowa.
20:16They don't need any more of this nightmare fuel.
20:203.
20:22Usually when you're in solitary confinement, you're, well, solitary.
20:26This TikTok video shows that's not always the case.
20:42In the video, an inmate stands behind bars.
20:46He's looking out through the bars and is supposed to be alone.
20:49But when he steps out of the way, a dark figure appears to be crawling on the floor behind him.
20:55It moves out of the way, blocking itself from view behind the inmate.
20:59The figure looks human-shaped, but not really human.
21:03Many in the comments believe it could be the inmate's demon that landed him in prison.
21:08Others think it's the negative energy attached to him.
21:11I guess the odds of an actual person sneaking into jail are unlikely.
21:16What do you think is going on here?
21:192.
21:21Someone's Watching You
21:23Published by Ted Robertson in September of 2014, this cop captured some scary footage while on duty.
21:30He was on call to the street, but by the time he'd arrived, things had calmed down.
21:36But the cop noticed something strange about a neighboring house.
21:39The footage shows that the house in question is boarded up and appears to be abandoned.
21:45Its front end looks burned out.
21:47Strange noises resound in the area, which could just be birds or other wildlife.
21:52But the strangest thing comes in the frame of a darkened window.
21:56The camera zooms in on a window above and captures this.
22:06A ghoul-like face flashes for a moment before receding into the darkness.
22:12A close-up shows the powder-white, mask-like face in clearer detail.
22:16It looks semi-transparent and is completely disturbing.
22:21While some in the comments think the noise is the creepiest part, others say that this
22:26face is the most scary thing they've ever seen.
22:28I mean, did this monster start the fire, or did he perish in it?
22:33I've got a challenge for you.

22:551.
22:56As I've said before, ghosts can appear anywhere and everywhere.
23:02While the existence of ghosts is still hotly debated, a local New Mexico police department
23:08has started to believe Officer Carl Romeo was on night duty at the Espanola police station,
23:15where he saw a strange figure walking in the car park.
23:18The figure walks through a gate from the car park towards the left and walks out another
23:23gate at the other side.
23:24Romero went to investigate, but found no one was there.
23:28Furthermore, walking towards either of the gates would set off an alarm, but nothing went off.
23:34Other officers saw the camera system and found the figure is not a glitch.
23:38The camera has experienced other events in the past, which has confused officers working there,
23:44as the site on which the station is built does not have a sinister past.
23:50The station itself was built in 2006, and nobody from there had passed away at the time the figure was
23:56seen.
23:57The ghostly figure itself clearly has a torso, arms, and partial legs seemingly disappearing at the knees.
24:04It is walking in a calm manner from right to left, as if they are simply having a nightly stroll.
24:10There has been no other word from the Espanola Police Department if there have been any other encounters captured,
24:17and we sure hope we hear more from them in the future.
24:21Something in the woods is about to blow this cop's mind and his eardrums.
24:32He walks back with wide eyes and puts his flashlight away, completely done with the situation until backup arrives.
24:40But backup doesn't seem to do much better.
24:46I think this could be a recording because the scream sounds exactly the same both times.
24:57So maybe somebody put a really good speaker system in the woods.
25:01Or maybe that's just what I'm choosing to believe, because I don't want to accept that this is real.
