00:00Game four now scheduled for Saturday, tomorrow at 8 p.m.
00:05Game five is going to be played Sunday at 5 p.m.
00:09Game six and seven, if necessary, is going to be no travel day.
00:13Monday at 8 p.m., Tuesday at 8 p.m.
00:17So they have just eliminated the day of travel.
00:19You are going straight from Cleveland to Tampa Bay,
00:21and you are playing right after you get off the plane, pretty much.
00:25I mean, like, I'm sure they probably fly out that night
00:28and get over to Tampa as fast as possible.
00:30But you are waking up, and it is game day the very next day.
00:32You don't have a choice.
00:34Which, by the way, is actually opposite of how the Guardians handled the trip
00:37from Tampa to Cleveland.
00:40Tampa flew right out after game two.
00:42Cleveland took the day, spent the night in Tampa, then flew to Cleveland.
00:46So not that I'm saying that gives any sort of advantage.
00:49Both teams are going to have to get off the plane and play baseball.
00:51But it is an interesting kind of development.
00:54And Zach Meisel was the one who, at least first on that,
00:57that I saw pop up on my feed.
00:59So that is official.
01:01We just had, and they're showing everybody walk out of the ballpark now.
01:05So they are telling people, out.
01:07We have waited this thing out long enough.
01:09We thought it would probably be done by now,
01:11and we don't want to start this thing, you know, post 10 o'clock,
01:14which I'm assuming is what they were thinking it was going to do.
01:16I got a text that apparently the TV broadcast, you know, on TBS is talking
01:21about the fact that the grounds crew is probably going to need about an hour
01:23to get the field ready.
01:25So once you cross over past 9 o'clock, you're figuring start time going past 10.
01:31Jorge, Thomas, and Andy from 92.3.
01:36Call back in.
01:37How do y'all feel?
01:38Because y'all seem to time this out just right off of them to postpone it.
01:42I feel like if you were going to do this, I mean, it's been raining all day.
01:45Why didn't you make this call that you could have done this at 630?
01:49They absolutely could have done this earlier today.
01:51And, like, hey, that's what we'll ask you.
01:52We'll push back, get a grip until somewhere later in the show.
01:57Probably 920, 940, somewhere around there.
01:59But I want to ask you, 216-474-0092, for those of you who are, you know,
02:04actively leaving the stadium, getting back to your cars,
02:07do you kind of feel like you just got cheated out of today?
02:09Even if you're sitting at home, right, and getting ready for this game to start,
02:12you've been sitting around waiting.
02:14You thought baseball was going to be played an hour ago.
02:16So, they've made a meeting of this at 6 o'clock to determine
02:20if they were going to play baseball.
02:21Clearly came out to the decision of, yes, we do plan on playing baseball tonight
02:25and ultimately just landed on no.
02:27I mean, I feel bad for the people who are sitting out there at the game.
02:32My best friend's mom was sitting out there freezing in a poncho,
02:36waiting for this game to start.
02:37I feel bad.
02:39People are sitting here and having to try and battle this out,
02:43waiting for the game to start.
02:44They've been in that stadium, some of those people in the ballpark for,
02:48what now, three and a half plus hours if you were there when the gates opened at 530?
02:54That is ridiculous.
02:56I mean, that is absolutely insane that you waited three and a half hours for them
03:00to then call the game.
03:01I don't want to be that guy, but gas ain't cheap, man.
03:04I remember as a kid, my mom used to be like,
03:06hey, tell me where you need to go so I can put the itinerary together.
03:11I'm not driving across town.
03:12Nobody wants to keep coming back downtown, back and forth for nothing.
03:17And that's money that you could have spent on concessions, merchandise, a program,
03:24whatever, the vendors outside the stadium.
03:26I'm like, that's the thing that also annoys people because now you're wasting resources
03:31that I could have used on something that I really wanted instead of a nothingness.
03:36On top of that, like parking here for, especially during an ALCS game, it's not cheap.
03:42Like, hey, I saw as low as like 40 bucks is the lowest that I saw on my drive-in
03:47today.
03:48I saw as high as like 80.
03:49I saw 70 the other night on the way down here.
03:52So like, I mean, we are talking about, obviously, yes, I mean, but it's not like your tickets
03:58go away, right?
03:59Like game four gets pushed back to tomorrow.
04:01It's considered a postponement.
04:02Your tickets obviously still stick around, but this is now a Saturday game in which you
04:08have to kind of flip around and just, I don't know, be ready and be ready to drop another
04:12$70.
04:13Like they're not handling refunds for parking your car.
04:16I'm like, ah, sorry, the game didn't happen at night.
04:17Here's your 70 bucks back.
04:19We'll get you again tomorrow.
04:20No, like it.
04:21Thanks for the 70.
04:22We're still hoping to get you back here tomorrow.
04:24Like I hope that $70 and you're paying 140 to park and watch one game.
04:28And by the way, freeze your ass off twice.
04:31Like, I don't know.
04:33It just feels like this is going to be, I mean, listen, if I was in the ballpark night,
04:37even just sitting here, you feel a little bit cheated.
04:40If I was in the ballpark, I would feel beyond cheated.
04:42And now knowing that, all right, I got Saturday.
04:46If I have tickets to game five, I feel kind of cheated.
04:49Like for the people who want to either sit at home and watch the Browns game, go down and
04:53watch the Browns game.
04:54Like you are now talking about a hell of an eventful day that it would be, I don't know,
04:59maybe get out to Muni at, uh, you know, the wee hours of the morning, have some fun,
05:03go out to the Browns.
05:04And then you got to hightail it up over to progressive to watch playoff baseball on top
05:07of it.
05:07Like that is, there's no short change day.
05:09That is a long day of, uh, of Cleveland sports.
05:12And like, I'm here for it.
05:13I love it.
05:15At the same time, I didn't really want to go out there and freeze for that to be the
05:20occurrence either.
05:22I just does not feel, I don't know.
05:25This feels like a, and again, you don't blame the guardians for what happens tonight.
05:29And you, uh, Baskin called in earlier and very clear on that.
05:32Like the guardians did not handle, uh, what was happening in this game and whether or not
05:36it would be played, what the start time was going to be.
05:38If there was going to be a delay, a postponement, major league baseball does handle the post
05:41season.
05:42So they are in charge of whether or not these games start and get played really feels like
05:47major league baseball, trying to push the issue as hard as they could, that we want
05:50this game to be played tonight.
05:51And we're going to do everything in our power and just completely disregarding the fan.
05:55What about the people who bought tickets for the guardians and the Browns?
06:00Yeah.
06:01The whole decision to make over the weekend.
06:03So the beautiful thing is you can go to both, right?
06:07I mean, the game is at five on Sunday.
06:09You can hightail it out of, uh, you know, Huntington and, and get over to progressive very
06:13quickly.
06:14Uh, it's even if you walk, it's probably about a 30 minute.
06:17Walk.
06:17So you'll make it in time.
06:19Assuming the Browns don't go to like a full length overtime tie or something.
06:22You'll definitely be there for the start of the game.
06:25But again, like that's a long day.
06:28Extremely long.
06:29No matter how fun that is, that's just a long time to be out spending money.
06:33Yeah.
06:34And like I said, like for the people that, you know, want to go out there and they, you
06:37know, I partied up at Muni before the Browns game.
06:40Like I'm walking back potentially to Muni to go get my car or parent paying twice for
06:46parking for this game.
06:47Uh, and I'm going back to that at, you know, 8 PM or beyond that to have to go all
06:51the way
06:51back down there and get it.
06:52Like you're again, you might be out there from four or five in the morning, Sunday morning.
06:57And you're telling me I'm not getting home until nine 30, 10, 10 30 at night.
07:01That is a long ass day of Cleveland sports.
07:04And quite frankly, like that Sunday crowd, I don't know what that looks like, right?
07:08I'm sure there's still going to be fans that are out there.
07:11I'm sure there's still going to get a very nice showing, but that is either going to
07:15be a very tired fan base that is in there that day.
07:17And really just operating off of adrenaline, or that's going to be a crowd that probably
07:22gets lessened because you're not being forced to choose, but you're being forced to choose
07:27between just watch the Browns that I want to go home and maybe take a nap or get the
07:31rest of my day over with, get prepared for Monday.
07:33Uh, or I, I got to tough out a really long day of watching, you know, playoff baseball
07:38on top of the football game.
07:39I just watched something you mentioned earlier about, uh, a lesser crowd and the energy not
07:45being there.
07:46I think something unique about guardians fans, even when there's a smaller crowd, the energy
07:52doesn't seem to go away.
07:53I remember years and years and years ago, I want to say it was the 14 inning game, uh,
07:58Kenny Lofton, I think scored to seal it, but it was a mad long rain delay in between.
08:04They didn't finish like one o'clock, but I remember watching that game and the energy
08:08in the building just felt like it was 30,000 people there and it couldn't have been more
08:12than like 7,000 people there.
08:14So I think no matter how many people are there, energy and atmosphere still be there.
08:19But the fact that you won't have a packed house, I mean, there does something doesn't
08:24necessarily feel right about that.
08:25Yeah.
08:26Like, and again, it is a, a fan base that absolutely would back the crowd.
08:30Like if this game was Saturday and it still is, you still have your game on Saturday at
08:34eight.
08:34Again, uh, if you're just joining us to a guardians and race has been postponed tonight
08:39due to the rain, 8.
08:40PM, Saturday, 5.
08:41PM, Sunday, a game, six and seven, Monday, Tuesday at eight.
08:46It just feels like, yeah, and again, I expect a hell of a lot more than 7,000 people out
08:50there, obviously, uh, you know, in the game that James is talking about, but I don't know
08:56that I expect to sell out crowd on Sunday afternoon.
08:58I don't know that we can legitimately be talking about getting to that point.
09:02It just doesn't feel right.
09:04And I want to know from you guys, two, one, six, four, seven, four, double O 92.
09:07Uh, if you're just leaving from sitting in the ballpark for a while, I want to know from
09:11you guys or sitting at home, uh, do you feel like you got cheated tonight?
09:14And, uh, Jack is downtown leaving the game.
09:17What's going on, Jack?
09:19Hey, what's going on?
09:21What's going on there?
09:23Have to leave.
09:25Yeah.
09:26So, you know, I understand the situation with the rain, but at the same time, you gotta get
09:33this game in, but you know, I'm, am I upset?
09:37And I paid $45 to park the fire museum.
09:40Absolutely.
09:41But at the same time, I understand the circumstance that is on the table for the weather and all
09:49that as well.
09:50I see a parade of folks at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario, but you know, boys, I really think
09:59this team has a good shot tomorrow, no matter what.
10:02And as much as the bullpen game was going to be a factor today, Sean Armstrong was going
10:11to put up, you know, give them a couple innings, but I think we're going to have a great series
10:18no matter what.
10:19And that's all I got.
10:20I got a call coming in.
10:21Thank you guys.
10:22Yeah.
10:22I appreciate you chiming in Jack.
10:24And listen, like, I mean, for what it's worth, like the game is postponed.
10:28This is a game that Tampa Bay wanted to play.
10:30I didn't hear what Cleveland's thoughts were on it.
10:32I don't know if they wanted to be out there and play in this game, but Tampa Bay wanted
10:36to play because they wanted to be able to get to the bullpen game of Cleveland, right?
10:39You got to their bullpen.
10:40You were able to go through and actually kind of see this out that you were able to get
10:47to Griffin Jacks.
10:48You were able to pick up a win.
10:50Tampa wanted to see Sean Armstrong.
10:52They wanted to see what was supposed to be the fourth, you know, most confident starting
10:55pitching and pitching kind of setup that the guardians are going to roll out.
11:00They obviously want to see that, but you're not walking away from it.
11:05Guardians are going to be able to pretty much rotate their top three.
11:09I don't know if it lasts for a remainder of the series.
11:11Like maybe game seven gets a little hairy at this point, or maybe you shift that to game
11:14five or game six and, you know, make sure Parker's on full rest later in this series.
11:19But you're buying the guardians one more opportunity, which what I am assuming is going to be going
11:24into tomorrow night with Foster Griffin.
11:27And he is probably going to be the guy who gets to start and is able to take the ball
11:31on the mound.
11:32So it's definitely going to be something.
11:33Let's, uh, let's get one more call in here.
11:35We usually don't take two time callers, but with the, the circumstances, we absolutely
11:39will, uh, or he's calling back from, uh, he's up in Cleveland from Tampa Bay.
11:44Jorge, what's going on?
11:45I don't like having to talk to you so soon.
11:47How are you?
11:49It's right back.
11:50Right then again, I didn't expect, uh, we'd be having a conversation so quickly, but I
11:54know, I knew you wanted to play this game tonight.
11:57I would have preferred we played a game tonight.
12:00Yeah.
12:00$80 parking, $30 nachos and a Coke.
12:03And, and here I am back in my car, headed to the hotel.
12:06I can't make it to Sunday's game.
12:07So now I'm going to miss a game.
12:08I promised my wife I'd be home by Sunday morning.
12:11I got two flights booked for Sunday morning, just in case one messes up.
12:14So I I'm thinking about, should I ask for permission and, and, and beg to stay another
12:19day and, and catch game five.
12:21So I don't know what to do.
12:23I, I, I'm telling you right now, go ahead and ask.
12:26I mean, we don't get to see an ALCS every single year.
12:29Go ahead and ask.
12:29What's the worst thing that happens?
12:30Jorge, Jorge.
12:31It's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission.
12:35Now, look, I don't know if you want to take my advice.
12:37Cause my situation, look, Hey, look, but I was going to say, James, it's a hell of a lot
12:41easier to ask for permission than it is to, uh, you can serve to, you know, divorce papers.
12:45So maybe Jorge should be out there asking for a little bit of permission.
12:49Yeah.
12:49We, we got a softball game at two.
12:50And if we lose, cause I'm not there, I'm not going to hear the end of it.
12:53So I don't know what to do.
12:54Can you say that you rolled your ankle and you're, and you know what I'm saying?
12:58You're going to just take the later flight.
13:00Cause you want to try to let the swelling go down so that you're not flying with all
13:04that information.
13:05I mean, all that rain on the corner of Carnegie and Ontario, the slip was bound to happen.
13:10Well, I hope tomorrow is going to be a great game.
13:12The weather doesn't do anything to, to hamper that.
13:15And, um, I guess we'll see what Sunday brings for me and, and these teams.
13:21There's no doubt about it.
13:22I hope you can stay for the game.
13:23Jorge, I appreciate you checking back and appreciate the call.
13:25I, but I want to hear from you guys.
13:272-1-6-4-7-4-0092.
13:28We're going to get to more of your calls.
13:30Uh, do you feel like you got cheated out of this one?
13:33I know some of you are sitting in that ballpark for a very long time just to have this game
13:37be postponed and, uh, you're expected to be right back there tomorrow night at eight
13:41o'clock.
13:42Kind of feel like you got cheated in this one.
13:45Cause it really does feel like you did.
13:47And we're going to get into more of this.
13:48We're going to get to some of your guys' calls, but I want to make sure, you know, you
13:50can listen to the fan anytime, anywhere on the free Odyssey app, or by telling your smart
13:53speaker to play 92.3, the fan.
13:56And now you can find 92.3, the fan on YouTube, including the Ken Carman show at the Anthony
14:00Lima from six to 10 AM basket and Phelps, 10 AM to 2 PM and afternoon drive with Nick Wilson
14:05and Jonathan Peterlin from two to 7 PM all live each and every weekday on the 92.3, the
14:09fan YouTube channel.
14:11Subscribe to our channel for free and watch all the best content for your favorite shows
14:14on the fan live and on demand now.
14:17But I think this is just a clear and obvious case of kind of watching.
14:23It's just a reality of major league baseball showing you they don't care about the fan.
14:28They do not care.
14:30And I don't mean a 92.3, the fan.
14:31I mean, you guys, like they don't care about the average fan that are sitting there, you know,
14:35getting to the game is we heard Jack calling, you know, paid, you know, 50 ish bucks for
14:40parking, has to go out there and drive out and didn't get to watch any baseball today.
14:45I mean, it did not take a meteorologist to tell you that there was going to be a ton of
14:50rain tonight and throughout the entire day, it's been raining throughout the course of
14:54the day.
14:55And if they're like baseline was, we got to get this thing started by 10 o'clock, you
15:01could have looked at any weather app under the damn sun.
15:04And I could have told you that this game was not starting at 10 o'clock, right?
15:09Like the rain wasn't even supposed to stop until basically 10 o'clock.
15:13How are you supposed to start this game in any sort of fashion as the rain is still ongoing
15:21when you have to take care of the field and like, Hey, we were talking about it throughout
15:24the course of the show tonight.
15:25There was very clear and obvious situations of like a staring at the, the warning track,
15:30basically looking like a moat around the field.
15:34That wasn't getting cleaned up in, you know, 35 minutes.
15:37It wasn't getting cleaned up in even 15 minutes.
15:40If they wanted to start this thing in time, not to mention players got to go out there and
15:43warm up, starting pitchers got to get ready.
15:46It was going to be an ugly start to begin with, but like, like James set the line at 1028.
15:52They clearly weren't willing to start this game at 1028.
15:55Like the time in which they called it told you 1028 was never on the table.
15:59Like it didn't even really sound like 1010 was maybe on the table.
16:03I don't know.
16:04Is that there?
16:06Because this game got called at 905.
16:08We're talking about it, you know, an hour to get the field ready.
16:10The players having to warm up.
16:11It didn't really feel like that was ever a case.
16:13And again, Joe from Medina could have told me that, you know, the rain's not going to
16:19stop until 10.
16:20All it takes is open up your phone and open up a weather app and being like, I mean, people
16:25have done this work for me in the major league baseball is sitting there talking to a meteorologist
16:32in Cleveland, talking to both of the teams about whether or not it makes sense.
16:35And we couldn't have come to the conclusion before 905 tonight.
16:39And that's just where I get lost in the entirety of it.
16:42And again, perception is that this actually probably helps Cleveland more than it helps
16:45Tampa Bay.
16:46You, you avoid the Sean Armstrong bullpen game, if not entirely, at least for a game,
16:52bare minimum, a game, you're, you're wasting this.
16:54So the perception is that helps Cleveland.
16:57It just, again, even if it's helping the guardians in the longterm, which I don't know how much
17:02that really helps you.
17:04I mean, we talked about that yesterday with Justin Lada, as I mentioned at the beginning of
17:07the show, we talked about it, Justin didn't really feel like it gave much of anybody an
17:10advantage, but even if it is guardians advantage, I don't think that the, the fans who are out
17:18there freezing in, you know, sub 40 degree real feels, we're really caring about whether
17:24or not it gave the guardians an advantage.
17:25They wanted to watch baseball that night.
17:26They wanted to be there.
17:27And again, this is major league baseball, just showing you, they don't care about the average
17:31fan going to these games.
17:32Like the people attending and this is major league baseball's decision.
17:36I would like to continue to reiterate that this is not the guardians.
17:39I, the way that I talked about earlier in the show, the, the minor league boy, you know,
17:43pull that they do where we know this game isn't getting played, but we're going to let everybody
17:48in.
17:48We're going to let you buy some booze, some concessions.
17:50We're going to get some money out of this.
17:51Like that's not the guardians choice.
17:52They don't get to do it.
17:53It reeks of it.
17:54So I understand why somebody would go there, but it is major league baseball's decision.
17:59At the end of the day, I want to hear from more of you guys though, obviously, uh, either
18:03at home going to the game, not getting to watch any baseball dollies in Cleveland.
18:07What's going on, Dolly?
18:08Hi, how are you?
18:09I'm upset about I have tomorrow tickets, right?
18:14And we paid extra to go to tomorrow's game.
18:17And now we are, we're going to play a regular game and they're going to be had the better
18:22game on Sunday.
18:23Now they're going to refund us the money or maybe give us a, one of those free $9 hot
18:27dogs.
18:29I don't know what they're doing.
18:30As far as I know, and Dolly, I know why you're upset.
18:33Like this now gets pushed to Sunday and I appreciate the call.
18:36I, as far as I know, this is treated like a postponement of tomorrow's game too.
18:42So this just gets kicked to Sunday and all the people who bought tickets on Saturday
18:45are expected to just up, rotate their plans and be ready to go to Sunday's game.
18:49So like it is double damage, right?
18:52It is for the people that now we're like, Hey, I got Saturday open.
18:55Let me go watch some baseball.
18:56So it's not as if you can just take your Sunday tickets and transfer them over to
18:59Saturday, at least not as far as I know.
19:01It is, you'd pretty much have to probably sell your tickets that are now for Sunday's
19:06game, rebuy the tickets that are for tomorrow night's game, get back in, or just pay the
19:10extra price to watch two games, which for a lot of people is not just a doable thing.
19:14Like these are not ticket prices that you're getting in for, you know, the 10, 15 bucks
19:18you might be able to get in for standing room.
19:20Andy brought that up when he called earlier.
19:22It's like about a hundred dollars get in price right now that I saw for this game that
19:27obviously didn't get played.
19:28I imagine the rest of the games are probably somewhere in that same ballpark.
19:32Again, I want to hear from more of you.
19:332-1-6-4-7-4-00-92.
19:35Kyle's sitting at home.
19:36What's going on, Kyle?
19:38What's going on, fellas?
19:40Yeah, I mean, we can kind of turn it into a positive.
19:44I mean, like, I mean, it definitely sucks that we got to miss out on watching good
19:48play at baseball tonight, but you know, if we not to turn into a Browns conversation
19:54as everyone does in Cleveland, if we can win on Sunday at 1 PM, that stadium win or lose
20:02on Saturday night, that stadium on Sunday will be out of their mind, hydrated, ready
20:08to go.
20:10Those Tampa boys aren't ready for the action we're about to bring to them.
20:13Hey, Kyle, I think, I think you bring up a really good point.
20:16Like I would love to know what the, the dispersion is going to be.
20:19And thank you for the call.
20:20I, if the Browns go through and win on Sunday versus lose on Sunday, how many of those fans
20:26just to hightail it over to progress?
20:28I mean, James, come on, level with me.
20:31If they get a win on Sunday for the Browns at one o'clock, they pick up a win in
20:36that game.
20:36There is absolutely no way there's not fans walking out of there that are, you know,
20:40is maybe, maybe a little bit lubed up and they're like, we're riding so high.
20:46We're going to the guards.
20:47Like, come on.
20:48Like, there's gotta be people that are doing that.
20:50And that crowd gets packed up a little bit more.
20:51Yeah.
20:52I don't know, man.
20:53I don't know.
20:54I guess 70,000 is a lot of people.
20:56I mean, a 10,000, uh, 5,000, uh, conversion rate from that would be amazing.
21:04Right.
21:04I just don't know how many people are going to be willing to just want to be out all day.
21:10Um, again, keep continuously spending money.
21:14Like there's going to be a decent amount of people who this was a wasted $100 experience.
21:19I mean, granted a hundred dollars ain't like the end of the world, but it ain't nothing
21:23to poo poo at either that you just threw a hundred dollars in the wind.
21:26So, I mean, I think there are, if the Browns win, I think the likelihood of that is higher.
21:33But if the Browns were to like, it's a heartbreaking loss, right?
21:38They, they, something silly happens.
21:40I can see people being like, Hey man, I'm going home to watch this in the warmth of my own
21:45home.
21:46I get to get my own snacks.
21:48I get to prepare my own food.
21:50So I, I, I think it is kind of based on how the Browns would perform depending on how much
21:55overflow you would get.
21:56And I would agree.
21:57And that's like, I, quite frankly, kind of a scary thought, right?
22:01Like now they, the guardians for a little bit extra attendance are relying on the Browns
22:04to play.
22:04Well, that's not the conversion you want is a guardians team in the ALCS, by the way, leading
22:10actively two games to one could be three games to one, or by the way, playing for your
22:14opportunity to have a lead in this series, heading into Tampa Bay.
22:17If the guardians went on Saturday, it lessens the need for a Browns win to get you the overflow
22:24because you'll already have your own built-in excitement.
22:27Don't you lose tomorrow?
22:28Because people don't care about the details, right?
22:30Like people aren't in the end, people aren't going to remember that this was MLB's decision.
22:34And unfortunately the guardians will get a little bit of flack for this unfairly.
22:40You can kind of wash that away.
22:42You go ahead and win tomorrow and give people, give people the reason to want to look for
22:46an excuse to go to the game on Sunday.
22:48I mean, listen, like you don't need any more excitement than the fact that you can watch
22:52them celebrate heading to a world series on their home field and get to see it with their
22:56own two eyes.
22:57Like people are going to care about that.
22:58So I think you're right in bringing up this idea that obviously the guardians control a little
23:03bit of their own destiny heading into tomorrow and what that crowd actually looks like.
23:06Like it just feels like, again, you are pinning people in a bad situation.
23:11You are pinning people up against a Browns versus guardians.
23:15And we know this isn't what MLB wanted to do because they're playing against a NFL football
23:19now, even though it will be the, you know, four o'clock window of games that this side
23:24of the country, Tampa Bay and Cleveland care less about than hopefully their baseball team.
23:30It's still a window where you're competing with the average fan and you're competing with
23:34people who, yeah, are going to go watch a Browns game on Sunday.
23:36That he's in Cleveland are going to want to go home after that game.
23:39Like it's just a not great scenario.
23:43They, you get to kind of put into, I want to get some more of your guys calls in here
23:48though.
23:49Jack is in Westlake.
23:50What's going on, Jack?
23:51What's going on, fellas?
23:53How are we?
23:53Hey, we're doing all right.
23:54Was hoping to see some baseball tonight, but we're living on.
23:57Yeah.
23:58You know, I got cut off a little earlier and that's perfectly fine.
24:01I had another person ranting to me about the situation of the game tonight, but nonetheless,
24:06at least if, if any of the folks, you know, from tonight's game, you still get in Sunday.
24:11I think the, the way that either, you know, if this is the team handling this or this is
24:17the MLB anyone buying a ticket for tonight, getting game five is a killer deal.
24:25Especially if you bought your tickets past like seven 30 PM, because there was tickets
24:30as low as $70 for, you know, what could be a clinching game, but at the same time, you
24:37know, I'm going tomorrow, regardless, I already have a ticket for Sunday.
24:41So it's a win-win you're going to pay game five pricing for Saturday.
24:44And if you happen to buy game four, you get game five as a bonus, but, but also for the
24:51parking situation for the folks downtown, as long as you bought your parking through park
24:57mobile and it was event surge price parking, it is being transferred to Sunday's game, which
25:04is unbelievable.
25:06And, you know, kudos to those folks.
25:08I don't know if that's a standard policy, but you know, I'm really excited to see these
25:12next couple of games.
25:13I really hope they pull it out.
25:15Likely a bullpen game tomorrow.
25:17Maybe you see Parker on Sunday, who knows?
25:21But yeah, I'm really excited.
25:23Thanks for taking the call guys.
25:24Yeah.
25:24No doubt.
25:25Jack appreciate you making it.
25:26I mean, that's obviously good to hear that maybe some fans are getting a little bit of
25:30money back.
25:30I imagine that's not the case everywhere, but you guys are filling up the phone lines and
25:34you can keep chiming in 216-474-0092.
25:37I can also get to us on X at Volnick Jake, but I want to get to more of you
25:41guys.
25:41I want to let you get the frustrations out.
25:43I know a lot of you probably get into your cars not too long ago, but let's keep it going.
25:47George is in Berea.
25:48What's going on, George?
25:50Hey, man.
25:51Thanks for having me on.
25:52I appreciate it.
25:53Of course.
25:55Heading back from the game.
25:56I mean, I guess what I don't get about it is the forecast didn't change.
26:02So what changed from their big meeting at 6 o'clock to, you know, 9.05 when they canceled
26:09it?
26:09So, you know, I'll probably go down on Sunday and use my ticket, but just frustrating.
26:18Go down there, pay for the parking, just like everybody else.
26:21Pay for food when you get in there.
26:23But I just, I guess I just don't understand what changed, you know, why, why they couldn't
26:28call it at six.
26:29So, yeah, George, that's the big thing for me too.
26:31And thanks for the call.
26:32I sit here and it's like them not calling this thing at like one or two o'clock.
26:36I get, cause there was a legitimate shift in the forecast.
26:39Like the rain there, there's supposed to be kind of this window open that might've popped
26:42up around eight and then going on.
26:44The rain might've been over at least stalled out enough for you to get this game in.
26:48And when they met at six o'clock, the forecast looked exactly the way it did leading up until
26:52right now, which was the rain's going to continue all the way up until 10 o'clock.
26:57I was checking it before I left for work.
26:59I checked it when I got to work.
27:00It was all the same.
27:01Everything remained exactly as it was.
27:03And I came in about the time they were having their meeting.
27:05So like not all that much.
27:07I had really adjusted.
27:09I really don't know where the, the disconnect came through for them.
27:12Other than the fact that again, major league baseball wanted to get this game in.
27:15They, they were just hard pressed to, to actually have it come through and it didn't happen.
27:21Hey, but again, this is about you guys.
27:22I want to hear from you.
27:23Let's go to, uh, Jeff's in Cleveland Heights.
27:25Wanting to jump in Jeff, what's going on?
27:27Hey, how's it going, Jake?
27:28It's going good.
27:30Other than the fact that I wanted to watch baseball tonight.
27:32Same here, man.
27:33I mean, it's, it's, it's absolutely ridiculous.
27:36Uh, I was going with a buddy now who drove up from Columbus and, you know, he's turned
27:41around with his, uh, 11 year old kid and haul him back right now.
27:45And I don't know if he's going to come back up on, on Sunday or not, but the tickets for
27:49today do transfer to Sunday, which, which I didn't realize was going to be the case, but
27:54that's apparently what did happen.
27:55So, and it's cool to hear that.
27:57I'll have the one caller saying about the parking for some people.
27:59I mean, that, that, that's great for some folks, but it's, this is just to the point
28:04you even make it.
28:04I mean, nothing's changed since six o'clock.
28:07I mean, I was driving down at five 30 and it was pouring buckets and I was just like,
28:12there's no way they're playing.
28:13And then you see the, the warning track and it's a puddle.
28:17They're squeegeeing.
28:19It got shop vacs or, you know, industrial sized, uh, you know, whatever vacuums or, or blowers
28:27out there trying to get the water off the warning track.
28:29I mean, there was no way they're going to play this game night and, and they could have
28:32made this call at six o'clock to give me this call at five o'clock.
28:35It, this was just absolutely ridiculous.
28:39And, and major league baseball should be ashamed.
28:42Jeff, I'm right there with you and appreciate you making the call.
28:45Like, and again, like Jeff's buddy are the people that like, it's the thing that like
28:50major league baseball misses is a big corporation in this aspect, right?
28:53Like people driving in and making this trip for two hours with their 11 year old kid.
28:57And you got to go out there and make the two, two and a half hour trip back to Columbus.
29:00Like it just doesn't feel right.
29:02That's where I, is the issue.
29:04I'm glad to hear that the tickets sound like they're transferring to Sunday.
29:06So they at least get more and more people packed into that place on Sunday.
29:10Maybe that helps with the attendance numbers we were talking about, but this is not great.
29:14Two, one, six, four, seven, four, double 92.
29:16If you're hanging, hang tight.
29:17You guys can jump in.
29:18And we're still getting your reaction again, guardians postponed tonight, 8.
29:23PM tomorrow, game four, 5.
29:25PM on Sunday, game five, six and seven, if necessary, will be played on Monday and Tuesday at 8.
29:30PM.
29:31No travel days in between.
