00:00Republicans are going to start losing young voters in droves if Donald Trump continues to be so dismissive of their
00:06reasonable concerns about AI.
00:08Trump made an 11-point jump between 2020 and 2024 with voters under 30, but to say that these are
00:15permanent fixtures of the Republican Party is just a mistake.
00:19Trump wants to tout the economy, but 80% of Gen Z says that the economy is doing poorly in
00:24spite of a strong stock market because a strong stock market scaffolded by the AI industry does not feel good
00:31to young people who don't have that many stocks in the first place and also see this industry as potentially
00:35threatening to their future livelihood.
00:36The majority of young people are concerned about what AI will mean for their future. They don't have a ton
00:42of wealth yet. They haven't established themselves in a career, and this is a really scary moment for them, and
00:47yet our leadership seems to be very casual and very pro-AI, buddy-buddy with the people who are creating
00:54a technology that they themselves say poses some serious and even existential risks.
00:59So if Republicans want to maintain the young people who voted for them in 2024, who took a chance on
01:04them, who are not part of their permanent coalition, they sure as hell should pull back on the super intelligence
01:09talk and start telling young people how they intend to protect their futures.
