00:02Federal agents arrested an OpenAI engineer accused of installing a hidden audio recording
00:07device in an executive conference room at the company's San Francisco offices, according to
00:11Reuters. The Justice Department said 35-year-old Abdulrahman Alphozan allegedly installed the
00:17device in September. OpenAI discovered it on September 30th and used its internal AI models
00:22to identify the person responsible. The company said it found evidence that Alphozan intended
00:27to install additional recording devices in sensitive areas. OpenAI fired Alphozan and
00:32referred the case to the FBI. The company said it found no indication that model weights,
00:36source code, or customer data had been compromised. Alphozan faces up to five years in prison if
