00:00Leeds United manager Daniel Farca has admitted he was heartbroken after Leeds United suffered their first defeat of the Premier
00:10League season against Arsenal.
00:13Leeds took the lead through James Justin, who has a habit of scoring at the Emirates Stadium,
00:20but goals from Ricardo Calafuri and Bruno Guimieres secured a 2-1 victory for the champions in the end.
00:28Farca felt his side deserved to take points from the match, praising their performance and discipline during the game.
00:38He also acknowledged a disappointing result and criticised what he viewed as inconsistent refereeing,
00:45questioning some of the bookings given to Tanaka and Ethan Ampadu, the Leeds captain as well.
00:52The Leeds boss insisted the players could have taken plenty of positives from the game,
00:57despite the result acknowledging Arsenal's quality and mentality in turning the game around, despite difficult circumstances.
01:09Leeds United will be hoping to bounce back as quickly as possible.
01:14Here is what Daniel Farca had to say after the game.
01:18My emotions are mixed, of course.
01:21I'm heartbroken and gutted from my players, because they deserve to travel back with points today.
01:28And after such a really good away performance, to have to travel back without any points is tough.
01:34And for that, yeah, of course, I'm disappointed, especially for them.
01:38But on the other hand, also very proud on what was a top away performance.
01:42And, you know, I think the first half was already on a really good level.
01:46We didn't allow any chances.
01:47It was more the other way around.
01:49We looked more dangerous.
01:50And I told them at halftime, listen, if we keep going, to have a bit more clarity and belief in
01:54our offensive actions,
01:56we will win this game.
01:56And this is also how we started the second half.
01:59I think we fully deserve to go and lead.
02:01Also went for it, wanted the second goal, anyhow.
02:04But yeah, it's Arsenal.
02:05It's one of the best teams in Europe.
02:07If not the best, it's definitely the most consistent team in Europe over the last years.
02:12And this means they're automatically also one of the best teams in the world.
02:16And even out of very, very little, they were able to find the equalizer.
02:21Can't really complain too much with this behavior.
02:26And this goal was a long cross on the far post.
02:28Perhaps we were overshifting a bit too much to center backs to the far post.
02:32And then didn't spot the run from the edge of the box quick enough.
02:35And on a good day, perhaps James has also the chance to put it over the crossbar.
02:39And he overs his hands, he touched it.
02:41Out of very little, they were able to equalize.
02:44And of course, if you have 70 minutes as a reigning champion, a tough day at home,
02:48and you are out of a sudden back in the game, then of course you have momentum.
02:52And yeah, they use this momentum then with another well-taken goal.
02:56And quality player to come in with a really good finish to go and lead.
