00:0050th Champions League match in Villarreal's history as they host Napoli tonight.
00:06The Spanish side are two-time semi-finalists in the competition, but they're without a win in it now.
00:11Further forward to skipper the side, Georges Mkhitaryz has come off the bench in the last three league games, but
00:16he gets the knot.
00:17Benoit Badia-Shiel made his first start for the club.
00:20Scott McTominay made his comeback off the bench in that game after a minor heart procedure.
00:24And here we go.
00:27All set for the start at the Estadio della Ceramica.
00:31Which of these sides can kickstart their new Champions League season?
00:36Only five places above them.
00:40They'll take the corner kick short here.
00:42Lebrunner getting it back from Di Lorenzo.
00:46And it's sent and threateningly and a huge chance back off the bar, surely this time from Rahmani,
00:51who reacted and wheels away in celebration.
00:55As Villarreal begin the protests.
00:59But he was left in all sorts of space, the Kosovo in Centre-Bank.
01:04And at the second time of asking his mate, Villarreal pay a heavy price here.
01:13Just as they did in Dortmund, Villarreal concede first, albeit much earlier in the piece.
01:18Pat Gay trying to pick the pass here, it was a decent one.
01:20Nearly came the way of Moreno.
01:23Went back well by Comissagne, who has it here and delivers the cross.
01:26Oh, Miku Tadza.
01:30Presentable opportunity for parity here for Villarreal.
01:34A neat little link up between Malero and Comissagne.
01:38Miku Tadza couldn't quite find the finish.
01:41There's the important touch to turn it behind by Paddy Eshoo.
01:48Here comes the corner kick.
01:51And come out for Peque.
01:53Got plenty of power behind it.
01:55There's his team.
01:57As they needed to be.
02:09And this time it's met by Moreno.
02:12And just off target.
02:14He wanted it to, Gerard Moreno here.
02:19That had initially appeared to have been given that way.
02:21And it certainly looked to have come off him last.
02:24Because Napoli got the decision in the end.
02:27And now they advance.
02:29With Giovanni Di Lorenzo.
02:31McTominay.
02:32Completely done by McTominay.
02:34Had Hoyland waiting in the middle.
02:36And send it only into the side netting.
02:39I believe B level.
02:41And they failed to win any of them.
02:45And Ardo Vega winding one up.
02:48And Levin Ritt there with a spectacular effort.
02:54Well, he thought, why not?
02:59He certainly caught hold of it.
03:01But it was always just rising and clearing the crossbar.
03:05Well, struck by the centre-back.
03:09Leaply pulled under control.
03:11By Matteo Politano.
03:14And he delivers the cross as well.
03:16Hoyland stretching, can steer it only against the post.
03:20Still the danger, maybe.
03:21He's going to be.
03:24Well, close to doubling the lead here.
03:25Politano did really well.
03:28Hoyland just leaning backwards.
03:30It's such an impression early on in this competition.
03:38Seven goals in his first eight games.
03:41Oh, that's so short.
03:42McTetzer is there.
03:43Oh, squeezes it in beautifully.
03:46To take full advantage.
03:50And level the game midway through this first half.
03:56Well, he made it look straightforward.
03:59He still had an awful lot to do, George's McTetzer.
04:04And on the end of the back pass that was intended for Milenkovic-Savic.
04:16Justifying his return to the starting line-up tonight.
04:19Certainly.
04:20Well, Politano here was looking for options.
04:24Didn't see any others really except his goalkeeper.
04:28Well, McTetzer had read his intention so alert to that to get there first.
04:33Around Milenkovic-Savic.
04:35The angle was in.
04:38He certainly didn't let heads drop after going behind.
04:42And here they come with Mourinho to hit it.
04:44Oh, super goal!
04:48Santiago Mourinho.
04:52They turned it around in rapid fashion.
04:56In the yellow submarine.
04:59And what a strike from the right back.
05:07Well, he is rapidly embracing this competition.
05:12Here's Santiago Mourinho.
05:15He scored his first ever goal in it on match day one.
05:20Now to head up from right in front of goal.
05:25This one in the rather more spectacular category.
05:28Tucker, touch or two.
05:30Sight of goal.
05:31Sweetly struck.
05:32Swerving away from Milenkovic-Savic.
05:36And the Uruguayan doubles his tally in the competition.
05:41A more important basketball game almost at the moment, this, isn't it?
05:44Wonderful for the neutral.
05:45Here is Politano into the penalty area.
05:48And still with Politano.
05:50And where's that going to look?
05:51Just over.
05:52Only just over off Carlos Romero.
05:58Frantic first half it has been.
06:01But it will be Villarreal that take the lead into the interval.
06:06Despite the fact they fell behind just eight minutes into the match.
06:13Here we go for the second half then.
06:16It will be Kevin De Bruyne and Napoli.
06:19To get things back underway.
06:21As he runs at Rahmani.
06:23Mikotanza is still going.
06:25Weaves it now for Gerard Moreno.
06:28Roberto Molero.
06:30You can see what he was trying.
06:32Not had the best of relationships.
06:33I think it's fair to say with Antonio Conte.
06:35Prompted a loan spell with Galatasaray last season.
06:38Di Lorenzo here to whip in the course.
06:40Awkward one.
06:42Excellent defending.
06:43Saliba got back just to turn it away.
06:47From the way of Freeman now though.
06:49El Comissanier.
06:51I will say he's spinning to strike it.
06:53Some power behind the shot.
06:54But equally Malinkovic-Savic was also right behind the shot.
06:58Have recovered in time.
07:01Some of there's some defending to do here.
07:03That's wonderful footwork.
07:06Not quite the finish from Hoyland.
07:10He did his bidding goal to deny him.
07:14He made himself big.
07:15And then was relieved to see it flash the other side of his post.
07:20And then got down to make the initial stop.
07:25He's done a decent job for Real of keeping Hoyland on the fringes for the most part.
07:30Awkward one.
07:32For Spinazzola there against Freeman.
07:34He's taken away from it.
07:36All of us say dropping deeper.
07:38Time to collect it.
07:40And finds Nathan Saliba.
07:42Saliba looking to pick the pass.
07:44Instead it's All of us say.
07:45To surely settle it in style.
07:51Another emphatic finish.
07:55And that might just do it for Villarreal closing in on a long-awaited victory in the Champions League.
08:03After 12 games in the competition without one.
08:08They are on the brink here of getting themselves up and running in the league phase on match day two.
08:15And Napoli staring at back-to-back defeats to start a Champions League campaign.
08:20For the first time in their history.
08:22Instinctive finish from the substitute Tani Oluwasei.
08:27Just stepped onto it.
08:29Put his foot through it.
08:31Here's the Brunner.
08:34And they send it in there.
08:37And they didn't really have the angle.
08:39Armani's header.
08:40Towards Luka.
08:42Goed back in his direction by Renato Vega.
08:48Nothing at the end of that which will sum up the story really for Napoli.
08:52A night that started so well for them has ended in a Villarreal victory.
