00:00The current asylum system and the border situation in this country is totally broken.
00:05A home office whistleblower recently told The Telegraph that literally 99 out of 100 asylum claims were bogus.
00:13Almost a million people have claimed asylum in the last two decades in this country at a cost of £32
00:18billion in direct costs to the British taxpayers.
00:21So we've got to get the country back on its feet.
00:23And, you know, I don't think it's fair to say to British people that, for example, 300 British people are
00:29dying every week as a result of waiting too long for ambulances or emergency treatment.
00:35I don't think it's reasonable to say that that can continue to go up.
00:38And by the way, that's increased tenfold in 10 years.
00:40And then also claim that we're going to be, you know, a refuge for people from all over the world.
00:45We've got to be realistic about this. We've got to get the country back on its feet.
00:49I don't think any of that is extreme.
00:50I think it's extreme to continue to operate an open border, to have almost 200 migrants die, tragically, making that
00:58journey,
00:58to have British people suffering, in many cases, at the hands of brutal crimes that are committed by some of
01:03these people.
01:04We know, for example, convicted terrorists have made it into our country with the express intention of claiming asylum.
01:11One came here and attempted a mass casualty terrorist attack on our soul.
01:14The only reason it didn't happen is because of MI5 brilliantly stopping them.
01:18So I think it's an extreme position to say that we should allow that status quo to continue.
