00:00On Monday, October 12th, the march in Barcelona denounced the genocide that began with the arrival of colonizers in the
00:06Americas and the persistence of colonialism.
00:08This year, the march also denounced the Zionist colonization of the Palestinian people.
00:12Let's take a closer look with our correspondent Andrés Flores.
00:20On Monday, the anti-colonial bloc convened a massive march through the downtown Barcelona to refine their meaning of October
00:2712th.
00:27The march announced the genocide initiated by the Kingdom of Spain more than five centuries ago in a Viajala and
00:33a colonial project that they are feeling remains on that way.
00:36For us, it is important to make visible the consequences and how colonial structures persist to this day.
00:42This structure has many consequences in our lives and in people's rights, both in the territory for migrants and racialized
00:49people living in Europe.
00:53We denounced the violence of migrants in their European borders, the violations of their rights, and the deaths caused by
01:01this border system that puts lives in danger.
01:05For the bloc, the colonial legacy continues today. I view this border and the racing experience by migrants.
01:15Today, October 12th, there's nothing to celebrate.
01:18Interracist collectors, the anti-colonial bloc of Barcelona, along with the movement against genocide in Palestine,
01:24and against complicity with the Palestinian genocide, call those two streets today.
01:31Understanding that this is one single struggle.
01:34In a context of the right of the far right, where we are risking the right to house in territory
01:39and life of migrants,
01:42the left in this country and the left in the state are called to take responsibility for this moment when
01:47so much is a risk.
01:51The representatives from the Palestinian community in Catalonia were also present at the mobilization.
01:59Why anti-colonial? Because Palestine has been a colonial state for more than 78 years.
02:05The concept is the same.
02:07Colonized countries that have colonized other cultures and countries, Palestine, at the heart of the current colonialism.
02:15Palestine is at the heart of current colonialism.
02:19We continue to peacefully fight against the Syrian state of Israel because we defend our land and culture to the
02:25death.
02:29The march ending Placid is a dialogue named in memory of a John Guinean man who died in migrant detention
02:35center in Barcelona.
02:36For the collected, it's a name that summarizes what they came to say, that the colonial one remains open.
