00:00With the release of Season 2 of The Mandalorian right around the corner,
00:04we thought it would be the perfect time to thaw ourselves out from carbonite,
00:07ready those blasters, armor up, and...
00:09Oh, excuse me, please don't touch that.
00:13Here's your IMDb cheat sheet for Season 1 of The Mandalorian.
00:21Set five years after Return of the Jedi, we meet The Mandalorian,
00:26a feared and respected bounty hunter with no name who always gets his man.
00:30I can bring you in warm, or I can bring you in cold.
00:33And he really, really likes putting people in carbonite.
00:36Mando gets word from Greef Karga that a high-paying client and former Empire general
00:41is looking for a mysterious 50-year-old bounty who can be brought back dead or alive.
00:46Bounty hunting is a complicated profession.
00:49To sweeten the deal, they offer a bar of Beskar Steel,
00:52which is sacred to the Mandalorians, who were forced into hiding because of the Empire.
00:56And those bars can be melted down to make highly durable body armor,
00:59thanks to the armorer.
01:01Mando tracks down the target on a planet where he also meets the wise Ugnaught,
01:04Queel, a former Imperial indentured servant who also has his own catchphrase.
01:09I have spoken.
01:10And just so happens to be voiced by People Magazine's 1992 sexiest man alive,
01:15Nick Nulty.
01:16They locate the target in a heavily defended encampment.
01:19With the help of the extremely flexible bounty hunter droid, IG-11,
01:22they clear out the base and finally discover that bounty.
01:26An adorable little child that looks a lot like Yoda.
01:29The asset was to be terminated.
01:34And Mando's heart grew three sizes that day.
01:37I mean, how could he not?
01:39Just look at the thing with the big ears and the big Disney eyes in his Disney.
01:43Plus, Mando just really hates droids.
01:45Mostly because droids were responsible for killing off his family during the Clone Wars.
01:50After fending off some other bounty hunters, also trying to capture the child,
01:54the Mandalorian returns to his ship to discover that it's been picked apart by those pesky Jawas.
02:00Mando reluctantly agrees to retrieve a mudhorn egg for the Jawas
02:04in exchange for the stolen parts of his own ship, which is such a raw deal.
02:09Well, turns out this mudhorn is all kinds of pissed off and muddy
02:11and puts a real hurting on the Mandalorian.
02:13Luckily, the child uses the force to levitate the beast, enabling Mando to finish it off.
02:18It's then Mando begins to wonder, wait, how is this child 50 years old?
02:23He then delivers the child to the client and collects his bounty,
02:26which he invests in a serious armor upgrade.
02:29But all this cool shiny armor is kind of pointless
02:30because he kind of misses that cute 50-year-old baby that can move things with its mind.
02:34Armed with his new bounty hunter gear and a heart full of love,
02:37he breaks into the client's safe house, kills some stormtroopers,
02:40and rescues the child who's being experimented on.
02:43But on his way back to his ship, he's ambushed by Greef Karga
02:46and other bounty hunter guild members.
02:48Pinned down, he's luckily saved by his fellow Mandalorians and is able to escape.
02:52This is the way.
02:53This is the way.
02:55Mando and the child go full-blown lone wolf and cub
02:57to find sanctuary on the relatively quiet planet of Sorgan.
03:01But he's attacked by ex-rebel shock trooper Cara Dune
03:03as the child casually watches, becoming the dankest of memes.
03:08Cara and Mando make a truce and are hired to protect a farming village
03:10from a band of raiders and an AT-ST.
03:13Mando reveals some backstory to O'Meara, a widowed mother at the village,
03:16that no living being has seen him without his helmet
03:19since he was an orphaned foundling taken in and trained by the Mandalorians.
03:22And you know, this little village seems like a perfect safe spot to leave the child,
03:26but it totally isn't because bounty hunters.
03:29Then they'll keep coming.
03:30So after taking some damage in a spaceship dogfight,
03:33Mando emergency lands on Tatooine for a quick repair.
03:36He leaves the child with this stranger with candy
03:38and heads over to the Mos Eisley Cantina,
03:41best known for that one time that smuggler guy clearly shot first.
03:45Sitting in a familiar spot, the arrogant Toro Calican
03:49convinces Mando to help capture a high-reward elite bounty.
03:52Mando kind of figures,
03:54It's a trap!
03:54but agrees to help anyway.
03:56I mean, hey, ship repairs and babysitting ain't cheap.
03:58Naturally, Toro turns on Mando after he learns the bounty on him
04:01and the child is way higher.
04:03But Toro's a scrub and Mando easily shoots him and saves the child.
04:06Later, the Mandalorian receives word from former partner Ran Malk about some bounty work,
04:11teaming up with some seriously questionable allies,
04:13like this guy with three guns,
04:15double alien guy who's big and strong,
04:17bug-looking droid,
04:17and the knife-twirling Shion,
04:19who has a little history with Mando.
04:22Nice to see you too.
04:24He agrees to infiltrate a rebellion prisoner ship
04:27and break out Shion's brother, Quinn.
04:28But do we even have to say it at this point?
04:31It's a trap!
04:31The crew double-crosses Mando and lock him in a cell,
04:34but he easily escapes and locks them in a cell.
04:36Sensing that Ran Malk is in on this double-cross,
04:39Mando tricks some X-Wings to fly in and shoot up his space station.
04:42Cross wipe to next adventure!
04:43Mando receives a message from Grief Karga,
04:46asking for help to kill the client and clear out Navarro of Imperial forces
04:49by using the child as bait.
04:51He enlists the help of Caradun,
04:53Quill,
04:54and a reprogrammed nice version of IG-11.
04:56But hey, guess what?
04:57It's a trap!
04:58The plan was to kill you and take the kid.
05:01However, Grief double-triple-quadruple-whatever turns
05:04and decides to work with Mando to take out the rest of the Imperial troops.
05:07Quill takes the child to safety,
05:08while Mando, Kara, and Grief try to take out the client head-on.
05:12I would like to see the baby.
05:14Unfortunately, super bad guy Moff Gideon totally saw that coming
05:18after already capturing the child and killing Quill.
05:21Hey, that's sad.
05:22Moff and his army of stormtroopers shoot up the bar,
05:25killing the client, trapping our heroes inside,
05:27and Moff reveals Mando's real name.
05:30The decommissioned Mandalorian hunter, Din Djarin.
05:33Luckily, the child is saved by nurse IG-11,
05:36who puts a massive hurting on all those stormtroopers.
05:38Thankfully, stormtroopers have notoriously bad aim.
05:45The gang tries to Wild Bunch out of this situation,
05:47but they all get pinned down again.
05:49After almost getting blown up,
05:51Mando is all kinds of hurt
05:52and just tells the others to escape
05:54through the underground Mandalorian enclave.
05:56Realizing that there's a little loophole in the Mandalorian rulebook,
05:59Mando takes off his helmet in front of IG-11
06:02because he's technically not a living thing.
06:04IG-11 sprays his wounds with this magical droid healing juice
06:07that makes his brain think good again.
06:09That was a joke.
06:10It is meant to put you at ease.
06:14Mando catches up with the rest of the group
06:15to find out all of the other Mandalorians
06:17in the underground enclave have been wiped out,
06:20except for the armorer.
06:21She tells him about the Jedi
06:23and that it's his duty to protect the child.
06:26You're expecting to search the galaxy for the home of this creature
06:28and deliver it to a race of enemy sorcerers?
06:31She also gives him a sweet jetpack
06:32and carves some fat lines into his shoulder.
06:36They go on a lava boat ride
06:37where IG-11 sacrifices himself
06:39for the safety of the child and the group.
06:43And Mando can fully relate to young John Connor now.
06:47Moff Gideon is bugging out
06:49and returns in his TIE Fighter,
06:51but Mando, burning out his fuse up here alone,
06:54blows up that spaceship,
06:55then Touchdown brings him round again
06:56to find Kara, Grief, and the child safely on the ground.
07:00Hey, that was fun!
07:02It looks like your guild rates have just gone up.
07:04Grief and Kara decide to stay on Navarro
07:06while Mando and the child fly off into the sunset
07:09for more fun adventures throughout the galaxy.
07:11But you cannot keep a good Moff Gideon down,
07:14especially when he has a fancy dark saber.
07:17So what's next for season two?
07:19Will the Mandalorian find the child's home planet?
07:22What have Kara and Grief been up to?
07:23And how many more enemies will Mando make
07:26while searching for the Jedi?
07:27And hey, that one droid in the Mos Eisley Cantina
07:31was voiced by Mark Hamill.
07:33He was in a couple Star Wars, wasn't he?
07:35Anyway, this Mandalorian,
07:36they'll have no trouble with Sarlacc Pits
07:41or anything else for that matter,
07:43because after his adventures in season one,
07:45he has the greatest tool in all the galaxy.
07:48Nah, not love.
07:50A force-wielding super baby.
07:52Do the magic hands it!
07:54Isn't he just adorable?
07:56Terrible.
07:56You're a terrible.
07:56Yeah, terrible.
07:57It's you.
07:57That one is terrible.
