00:02and what a night here in Rabat as the 2026 futsal africa cup of nations is underway
00:11and an early effort
00:16goalkeeper looking to get fully involved
00:22no stepping back from Feras Mugashim certainly important with looking ahead
00:32to future AFCONs and particularly the fact that now they'll be every two years which is great news
00:38and also with the 2028 world cup insights and can Zambia fire their way to a first one given they've
00:46just fired themselves into a priceless lead
00:50Ryan Cesala firing home the first goal of this futsal africa
00:59driven across Libya caught sleeping
01:05preparation is working great as they go for a second
01:08and fired in Moussa Chewaya turned 19 today and he was looking for quite a wonderful present
01:21but it's Libya who are presenting the ball to Zambia
01:24Chipolopolo needing to cross but it's a brilliant little cut back slammed in for 2-0
01:34Patrick Milwila as the Chipolopolo bench dancing
01:41Christo Ferretti by all means the players should have been enjoying this thunderous start to the match
01:492008 champions Libya find themselves in a bit of a hole at Zambia
02:00the ball down the line no offsides and futsal which allows the cutback
02:05the beaten to it was Muala and now he's chasing shadows because in come Libya
02:11big left hand from Moloro pressure remains look at the white shirts putting their bodies on the line
02:33and now Zambia have taken too long
02:39a little bit of confusion
02:47officials in communication
02:51Zambia oh that's a lovely little flick off oh it's majestic
03:00and the Chipolopolo have just volleyed themselves into dreamland
03:08Christo Ferretti tries to keep his cam
03:13bold past Buxim
03:20what a swipe
03:22by Muala
03:25and well they celebrate
03:29stunning third
03:32but there is now a VAR challenge
03:39question is what are they challenging
03:46well this the football video support so
03:50two challenges a peach a peach no peaches peaches for free
03:56two challenges each for the coaches if they're correct or at least the officials agree with them
04:02they'll keep their challenge much like Hawkeye in tennis
04:06but this could be a big one if
04:10the referee and his assistants agree that there is something at fault
04:16it will get likely on explanation
04:29after review before the goal the ball was out of play final decision no
04:40well a lot could change with second 20 minutes
04:46but as things stand Zambia looking for a rare AFCON win
04:54what could really put catamanga pigeons in group A
05:00space and time but the clock's run out
05:03well a breathless first period of this
05:10and he'll want a firebrand of futsal from his mediterranean nights
05:20two goals down Zambia leading but it could have been by Moore
05:27with a stunning volley ruled out for the ball earlier in the move having gone out
05:35Libya using well the football video support allowed a challenge and the officials agreed so still
05:45two challenges apiece says no foul given Libya feel aggrieved Zambia with a chance there was an
05:53opportunity to cut back James Zulu wondering why he didn't come back to him
06:03captain I'm sure if he's making his apologies or not but
06:07Zulu able to leave it now for Wiseman Peary
06:2010 years part of the Zambia set up as the leader of the automotive futsal academy head coach of the
06:31national team since 2021
06:34and it has been a slow build but Zambia looked like they made business
06:41and they certainly do he was denied a second with a stunning volley
06:48after a football video support review will deny Patrick Mouila his second here
06:56Zambia pick off where they left off the ball across from Wiseman Peary
07:04and a cheeky little clip into the unguarded net
07:12now he goes for a goal and it is a very very wasteful effort
07:22MML showing that level of desperation that is to be expected with three goals down and three minutes
07:31there's 21 left on the clock
07:36now they're in again a lack of composure from the youngest squad player in the match
07:44was hugely successful
07:49taking them to third two years ago and of course
07:53group stage victory at the world cup but his replacement Pereira da Silva
07:58is seeing his side fall to a first match defeat
08:13chance here but he just doesn't want to be beaten does Moulololo
08:18he then fires long
08:22Moulololo the only thing he'll be disappointed going by his play is that he hasn't scored a goal
08:30in the moment but he has to be beaten to the team of players in the match
08:31Andrea Cristo Ferretti believed his side were better equipped for the challenge this time around
08:39and it certainly looks like it they had two friendlies against Egypt in the build-up which gave them
08:45a good indication of their level and despite seeing their clean sheet wiped out
08:53the celebrations begin now
08:59a huge statement from Zambia
09:02the Chipolopolo
09:083-1 then adding just one goal
09:11and allowing one but
09:12Zambia gets the first points in match
09:14they won this group A
09:16of the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations
09:19is just really important to start off
09:22on the right foot
09:23get the points you're supposed to get
09:25you have difficult opponents
09:27in Morocco
09:28who's the reigning three-time champion
09:30and Algeria
09:32so getting these first points
09:34very important for them
09:35and now they can concentrate
09:38on the other two games
09:39in their group stage
09:41we shall see how those go along
09:44but the early victory
09:44helps them in their campaign
