📰 THE FULL STORY

UAE officials state a co-pilot on a flydubai flight planned a suicide attack intended to crash the aircraft into Ben-Gurion Airport, Israel's main international airport in Tel Aviv, in a plot modeled on the September 11 attacks. The suspect is reported to be Omani. An early investigation found the attacker said the 9/11 attacks inspired him to become a pilot. UAE prosecutors describe the incident as a major attempted terror attack targeting key Israeli infrastructure.

⬅️ HOW THE LEFT COVERS IT
CNN and the New York Times both frame the account as a claim originating from UAE authorities, not an established fact, with headlines reading 'UAE prosecutor says' and 'Emiratis Say.' CNN leads twice with the detail that the suspect said 9/11 inspired him to become a pilot, centering the story on motive and psychology rather than the target itself. (CNN, New York Times)

➡️ HOW THE RIGHT COVERS IT
The Washington Examiner labels the suspect a 'hijacker' and leads with the intended target, Ben Gurion Airport, framing the plot squarely as an attack on Israel. (Washington Examiner)

⚠️ WHAT THEY AREN'T TELLING YOU
Nearly every headline attributes this account directly to the UAE prosecutor or government: 'UAE says,' 'UAE prosecutor says,' 'Emiratis Say.' The suspect's nationality, his stated motive, and the specific target all currently rest on one government's statement, not independent confirmation.
