At the same time, a young local woman named Huang Huan (played by Luo Yun) goes missing. Because his younger brother had died in an alcohol-related accident after being dumped by Huang Huan, a villager named Wang Bao-shan had publicly vowed the day before to make her pay with her life; consequently, everyone initially assumes the charred remains belong to her. However, the discovery of male physical characteristics refutes this theory.
