00:02When it comes to cleaning equipment, we clean a lot of it.
00:07We wash mop heads, we wash or throw out microfiber cloths, the list goes on.
00:13But when was the last time you gave your good old-fashioned broom a deep cleaning?
00:18Now think about how much bacteria can be looming inside of here.
00:23So here is a good way to deep clean your broom.
00:27All right, it's quite simple.
00:29If you have pets, if you're dealing with a lot of hair and a lot of dust and heavy debris
00:34with your broom,
00:35before you soak it in water, you want to go ahead and use your dustpan like this
00:40and make sure you lift it off to get all that heavy debris off, all that excess pet fur and
00:48dust.
00:48That is the first step.
00:50What you want to do after this is simply take a mouth bucket or any bucket for that matter.
00:57use Dawn dish soap and vinegar.
01:00Now dip this whole thing in there.
01:02Make sure you do a good thorough cleaning.
01:05And then take a comb, preferably not one that you use on your own hair.
01:10But if you go to, let's say, a dollar store or somewhere,
01:12let's get one of those big combs.
01:14And then simply take the comb and all of this right here.
01:19You want to make sure you get all the debris and anything that can be hiding in there.
01:23Make sure to take the comb and wash everything down into the bucket.
01:27That is the best way to do a thorough deep cleaning of your broom.
01:31Because when you're using this along your house,
01:34you want to make sure it's not filled with bacteria.
01:37So that's what you need to do.
01:40Vinegar, Dawn dish soap, hot water in a bucket.
01:43Make sure you really wash it out.
01:45Use the comb to get all the excess out of these little bristles.
01:49And then you have a clean broom.
