The spectrum behind the move is spectrum T-Mobile used to own: it sold its 800 MHz portfolio to Grain Management for $2.9B in cash plus Grain's 600 MHz licences, completed 11 August 2026. On 8 October SpaceX agreed to buy that portfolio from Grain -- pending FCC approval.
