00:00C'est le titre pour la 5e fois.
00:15Il a été victime de l'exemple, juste quelques semaines,
00:21Kojima...
00:22...et tourner sur Tanahashi.
00:30...et tourner sur Tanahashi Kojima.
00:35Kojima, of course, a product originally of the New Japan Dojo,
00:39back in 2001,
00:41left the company for a few years,
00:44had great success in All Japan before returning in August of 2010.
00:49And he did not waste any time, my God.
00:52Wins the G1,
00:54and then immediately in October,
00:57takes the IWGP Heavyweight Championship from Togimakabe.
01:03His second title reign, and this time Kojima plans on making it stick.
01:08IWGP Heavyweight Champion,
01:12Kojima Satoshi!
01:16Kojima,
01:17and this way the ring from the Red Brunners,
01:21the current rating and defending IWGP Heavyweight Champion,
01:28Satoshi Kojima!
01:33Satoshi Kojima!
01:38There is no going back for Kojima now.
01:45He thinks that this new stable of his is going to benefit him.
01:51Here you see Taichi,
01:53a slug of a human being,
01:56a reprobate.
01:58He will be in the corner of Kojima.
02:01The group would go on to be known as Kojima-gun.
02:06And when Minoru Suzuki a few years later would seize control of it,
02:10that's the group that is known as Suzuki-gun today.
02:13So champion and challenger have been introduced.
02:16Red Shizuna will be our official.
02:18He is presenting the championship belt,
02:21not just to the challenger but also to the throngs here in Tokyo Dome.
02:37At one time you could say there was great respect between Kojima and Tanahashi,
02:44but I would say after the recent events that that is out the window.
02:49Will Tanahashi be able to compartmentalize his anger
02:53on the betrayal of Kojima?
02:55And will Kojima be able to step up in this huge spot
03:00and get that signature win?
03:02He did not return to New Japan Pro Wrestling
03:05to play second fiddle to Hiroshi Tanahashi.
03:09And there is no doubt who the crowd favorite is.
03:17Call an elbow tie-up. The first event of 2011.
03:26And this is the final match of what has been a very unique card.
03:32As we mentioned, stars from TNA have also competed here tonight.
03:42Another collar and elbow tie-up.
03:45Waistlock go-behind. The standing switch from Tanahashi.
03:48Kojima breaks the grip of the waistlock.
03:52The hammerlock up to the side headlock.
03:54Side headlock takeover.
04:00Kojima's shoulder is rolled down just for a second.
04:03He lets go of the side headlock and Tanahashi capitalizes.
04:06Perhaps Kojima was thinking about a head scissors escape.
04:11Tanahashi was able to take control going the opposite direction.
04:17Front of international press at ringside as you can imagine.
04:21Another side headlock takeover.
04:23There's Kojima going for the head scissors and he is able to break the side headlock.
04:28And now the legs of Kojima in control.
04:31But it's that lariat arm that Tanahashi has to be aware of.
04:35He felt it when Kojima attacked him.
04:39And it was a friendly match if you will.
04:43An aggressive match with champions and challengers.
04:48For title matches at Wrestle Kingdom facing each other.
05:03There was no doubt where Kojima lies where his thought process was at the conclusion of that match.
05:09The hammerlock now from Tanahashi.
05:21Wrenching that side headlock.
05:30To the hammerlock at a top wrist lock situation.
05:35And a handful of hair gets Kojima back in control with the side headlock.
05:42And now Tanahashi will send Kojima across the tackle.
05:49And the peck popping champion hears the jeers of the crowd.
05:53Up and over the arm drag drop kick into that strong arm of Kojima.
06:02And now Tanahashi moves forward.
06:11The knee drop.
06:15Tanahashi working on the right arm.
06:19Trying to neutralize the power of that lariat.
06:28Looking for perhaps a double wrist lock.
06:32Kojima keeping that arm straight.
06:36There is the point of emphasis for Tanahashi.
06:46Kojima doing all he can pulling the hair of Tanah.
06:50Kojima trying to lock the butcher's grip.
06:56And now Tanahashi back to his feet stomping away.
07:01And now splashing down on top of that right arm.
07:06A very straight forward strategy for the challenger here at Wrestle Kingdom 5.
07:10And our main event so far for Hiroshi Tanahashi.
07:13Looking to win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship for a record setting 5th time.
07:18It would be take apart that right arm.
07:33Kojima returning in August.
07:36After a lengthy absence from New Japan Pro Wrestling.
07:39Immediately capitalizing on the opportunity.
07:42And winning the G1 Climax Tournament.
07:44Defeating Tanahashi.
07:46Don kega, don kega.
07:50Two minutes, rather two months later.
07:53Winning the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
07:55With a five minute call here in this championship match.
07:58Springboard cross body.
07:59From Tanahashi.
08:01Tokyo Dome would go on to be known as Tanahashi's house.
08:08As Kojima now hammering down on the knee.
08:11And there's a dragon screw leg whip.
08:15The Keiji Mudo influence, as we know.
08:20It runs very strongly through Tanahashi.
08:22But also through Kojima as well.
08:31You cannot be a product of the New Japan Dojo.
08:34And not have influence from the greats.
08:36Whether it's Tatsumi Fujinami, Keiji Mudo.
08:41Those two premier examples.
08:43Boy, an aggressive Kojima.
08:50As he uppercuts that leg.
08:55And Kojima going to the outside.
09:03And the top lock down the line.
09:07Tanahashi crashing.
09:09First to the apron of the ring.
09:11And then down to the floor.
09:15And Kojima pouring it on.
09:17You see Taichi looming.
09:23And a single leg crab out here on the floor.
09:26This is just going to simply draw a referee's criticism.
09:32And a call to break.
09:39Kojima looking to cement his legacy with a win here.
09:43At Tokyo Dome.
09:45Six.
09:46Seven.
09:47This has always been the biggest venue.
09:50The biggest event.
09:53And after New Japan Pro Wrestling would routinely.
09:59Hold events here at Tokyo Dome.
10:02They have just simplified the schedule.
10:04And now just once a year.
10:06Every January 4th.
10:13And the Scorpion deadlock.
10:15Is hooked.
10:19Another Ricky Choshu move.
10:22Another influence.
10:25Another break.
10:28And Tanahashi.
10:30His leg already compromised.
10:34Pressing up.
10:35But a long way to go to the ropes.
10:38Kojima in almost perfect position here.
10:40Tana now having to turn left.
10:44And is able to get that rope.
10:50Called a break from Red Shizuno.
11:07And a hobbled Tanahashi wheeled into the corner.
11:10Satoshi Kojima.
11:15Victorious in the Young Lion Cup.
11:19Back in the mid-90s.
11:24And the veteran.
11:25Now Kojima.
11:27Blasting Tanahashi.
11:29With machine gun chops.
11:31Making Tanahashi run.
11:33He'll follow in.
11:34And deliver.
11:38In the signature war cry.
11:41Now drawing boos.
11:44Kojima will go to the top.
11:46Watch the elbow drop.
11:47He's got it.
11:49He'll keep him right there.
11:51Red Shizuno gets the two.
11:53And Tanahashi able to kick out.
12:02And Tanahashi who early in the match.
12:06Attacked the right arm.
12:08The strong arm of the champion.
12:10Now stands toe to toe.
12:12After Kojima did significant damage to the leg.
12:15Tanahashi shrugs it off.
12:16And fires back with forearms.
12:18And in an uppercut.
12:20Back to the knee goes Kojima.
12:27Pulling forearm there.
12:28And there's a swat.
12:30Left hand.
12:32Caught Kojima by surprise.
12:39A much different type of match than they had in their G1 timex meeting.
12:44But will the result be different this time?
12:47Will Tanahashi overcome?
12:49And will he be the one with his hand raised?
13:00Full body slam.
13:01Tanahashi is going to go the second rope.
13:07Somersault.
13:08Senton.
13:09Into the torso.
13:11Two and a kick out.
13:16Back to the right arm.
13:20Back to the right arm.
13:24Looks like Kojima struggling to get his breath back after.
13:30That somersault senton.
13:32Now wait a second DDT.
13:35A quick first.
13:37And Kojima drills him.
13:50Has the challenger provided all he can to the champion Kojima.
13:59Can Satoshi Kojima retain the title here at Wrestle Kingdom 5?
14:05Neck breaker.
14:12The back of the head snapping into the knee of Kojima.
14:17And it looks like Kojima now softening up the neck in preparation of hitting that area.
14:24Lots of a brain buster.
14:25Counter drag and suplex.
14:27Perhaps Kojima breaks it.
14:30Koji Cutter will instead turn into a sleet blade.
14:36Talk about sudden.
14:42Tanahashi turned things around in the blink of an eye.
14:47And back to work on the right arm.
14:54A sound strategy for Tanahashi here as the challenger.
14:59A whistle.
14:59To do!
15:07Hyper extending the arm.
15:11He looked to pump Heroes with again.
15:14No!
15:15No!
15:19La question you've got to ask yourself now is
15:22Will Kojima be able to throw that lariat
15:25Or will he have to go back to this
15:27The Koji cutter the second time
15:29This time no counter from Tana
15:37Satoshi Kojima defending the IWGP Heavyweight Championship
15:41Against Hiroshi Tanahashi
15:43Here on January 4th 2011 at WrestleKingdom 5
16:00And Kojima stomping away at the midsection
16:04Now dragging Tanahashi to the top
16:08Koji cutter all the way down
16:13Waste no time to the cover
16:15Two and a kick out
16:25Kojima not doing too badly for a man with a compromised right arm
16:29He is going to go for it here
16:33Watch the lariat, Tanah follows in
16:35The roll up, two
16:40Oh dragon suplex perhaps
16:43Dragon suplex Kojima trying to break the grip
16:47And does so, wait a second, straight jacket
16:50Straight jacket to Truman, the bridge, the bridge
16:53He almost got
17:02And now dragon screw arm whip
17:09Singular in purpose in this championship opportunity
17:13Hiroshi Tanahashi doing significant damage time and time again to the strong arm of champion Kojima
17:21And now Tanahashi to the top
17:24And now Tanahashi to the top
17:24Kojima just barely beginning to stir
17:28Tanahashi flies
17:29High fly flow
17:31To the back of Kojima
17:34And now turn him over, go to the top again
17:42High fly flow
17:44Oh no, right into the knees
17:49To the back of Kojima
17:55At the 15 minute mark
17:58Kojima
17:59His championship life must have flashed before his eyes
18:03As he saw Tanahashi flying down off the top rope
18:07If the high fly flow would have hit
18:09We would have had a new champion
18:11But Kojima desperately
18:13Get those knees up
18:14The IWGP Heavyweight Championship belt
18:16Proudly display
18:18Here we go
18:18Arian back of the head
18:21And now one more time
18:22Wait a second
18:23Slim Blade
18:28Slim Blade instead
18:30Tanahashi avoids disaster
18:37Drops in there
18:38And Tanahashi
18:41Will go for a second
18:47And Tanahashi springing
18:51And immediately going to the top
18:53Does Kojima have an answer this time
18:57High fly flow
18:59Leg hook
19:00To
19:01Whoa
19:11Tanahashi hit the high fly flow
19:13But Kojima was able to kick out
19:30And Kojima
19:32Fight from underneath
19:36Desperate times
19:37Here at Tokyo Dome
19:41Champion on his feet first
19:43Tanahashi comes forward
19:44Throne over the top rope
19:47Comes down the line
19:49Oh
19:49The Lariat propels
19:52Tanahashi
19:53Neck first
19:54The edge of the ring
20:03Kojima that rat out there
20:05Telling
20:061
20:083
20:103
20:104
20:125

20:2513
20:2614
20:2714
20:3116
20:3116
20:32He's close to the ring
20:34But now just beginning to pull himself up
20:37Kojima shoving
20:38Red shoes away
20:42Kojima stopped the count
20:46Does Kojima want to beat
20:48Tanahashi legitimately
20:50To add legitimacy to his reign
20:54Will that move cost him?
20:58Brain buster
20:59Oh the brain buster was there
21:02It may not matter folks
21:032
21:04A kick out
21:10Don't count Tanahashi out just yet
21:22Don't count Tanahashi out just yet
21:22Kojima clutching that arm

22:00C'est parti !
22:38C'est parti !
22:48C'est parti !
23:04Coursing through the body of Kojima
23:06He's slow to make the cover
23:09He's now crawling
23:11Desperately, there's a cover
23:12Two and he
23:14Kicks out
23:20Time elapsed is time wasted
23:23For Kojima
23:24After Valerian
23:26Unable to follow up quickly
23:30And just a split second away from victory
23:48Kojima pulling Tanahashi up
23:54One more time
23:57There's some dragon suplex
24:00Kojima back up
24:01Another swing
24:02And it is
