00:00Well now, moving on to Ukraine, where Volodymyr Zelensky has criticised US, quote, unwillingness
00:05to help his country ahead of new peace talks in Miami today. The talks come as Russia steps up
00:11deadly airstrikes against Ukraine, including one at a bus stop yesterday that killed over 33
00:16civilians and injured dozens. For more, we can go straight over to Kiev now and speak to Yulia
00:21Klimenko, a Ukrainian member of parliament. Good morning, Yulia. Thank you so much for joining us.
00:26We've seen now Russia using a glide bomb to target regular bus stops. Was this a direct
00:31attack on civilians? Hello from Kiev. Thank you for hosting me. Yes, it was a deliberate and
00:39very purpose, purpose attack on civilians. Only yesterday, Russia killed the 450 injured, badly
00:50injured or killed 450 people around Ukraine. It's civilian people. I'm not talking about
00:57the army. So actually, it's a deliberate fight and genocide against civilians because they
01:05cannot achieve anything on the front line. Moreover, for past three weeks, we de-occupied,
01:11our army de-occupied more than 150 kilometers. So now it looks like the only war Russia can
01:18do with kids and women inside the country. So that's what they are doing, deliberately targeting.
01:25And they targeted, unfortunately, two buses killed more than 33 people yesterday by one
01:30glide bomb and injured more than 60 people in the buses. So I think it's purposely war crimes have done
01:40by Putin, who already said to his army and generals that they can do whatever they want with the
01:46civilians. So what's your plan now? How is Ukraine responding to these kind of attacks?
01:50So our plan is very simple. We are increasing our capacity on air defense. And in parallel,
01:58we're talking to our U.S. and European colleagues and partners to proceed with the peace talks. I think
02:07this is this will be two parallel tracks from one side, reinforcing army from other side to start
02:13to restart. Again, peace talk. Let's see. We'll have it. Well, you mentioned peace talks. All eyes on
02:20Miami today on those talks led by Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. They'll be discussing, quote,
02:25new ideas. But have you any expectations here?
02:29I think there is no new idea with Putin. He either stopped the war or or proceed with war. So
02:36I think
02:36the only person who can decide to stop the war is Putin and Kushner and Witkoff has have to put
02:45all
02:45possible pressure on Putin to stop the war. That's the only way how we can do it.
02:50And how is the Ukrainian economy keeping afloat? What is your message as well to European investors
02:55waiting for the war to end? Actually, European economy can help Ukrainian economy with lanes
03:04of solidarity, with export, with more contracts, with more joint ventures, et cetera, et cetera.
03:10We have a very booming, I would say. It's very strange to say, but it's booming on the western
03:16part of Ukraine. And many companies from eastern and southern part of Ukraine relocating to the western
03:21part. And they are already European investors can do investor investments and can cooperate with
03:27Ukrainian companies and businesses. And this way to help the Ukrainians also on economic side.
03:35OK, Yulia Klimenko, Ukrainian MP speaking to us from Kyiv. Thank you so much for joining us this morning.
03:40Thank you so much for joining us.
