00:05Michael Jackson's legendary white rhinestone glove worn during his 1983 Billie Jean performance
00:12where he unveiled the moonwalk is up for auction.
00:17The glove is so iconic because Michael Jackson became known as the gloved one.
00:23So this was sort of the beginning. I mean he'd worn the glove off the wall earlier
00:26but really this glove for the Motown special, 1983, recorded in March 83, aired on NBC in May 1983.
00:36That's 43 years ago. Incredible.
00:39And so it was a last minute effort.
00:42So a golf glove, leather golf glove, left-handed, made in Korea
00:47and just strips of the crystal just whip stitched onto the fingers
00:51and onto the back of the glove with Velcro closure on it.
00:55I mean just incredible.
00:57So in itself, it's wow, it's sparkly, it brings attention, it draws the light
01:03and then you add Michael Jackson and then you add the lyrics
01:07and then you add the movements and then the moonwalk.
01:10I mean it was spectacular. We've never seen anything like that before.
01:16More than 100 pieces are up for auction
01:18and experts expect Jackson's iconic glove to fetch a jewel-dropping price.
01:26We always say, like, we can only estimate it based upon the item itself.
01:31And you think about what it sold for before, so 420,000 17 years ago.
01:35So we estimate it's 600,000 to 800,000.
01:38But of course, the public auction and the bidding public will determine the true value
01:44because people will be bidding from all over the world.
01:47Ultimately, it will come down to two bidders duking it out
01:50and eventually there will be one who is prepared to pay the highest price
01:54and will be the ultimate winner.
01:56So auctions are very exciting, but also they're very revealing
02:00because they are the determinant of the true value.
02:03The items will be going under the hammer on December 7th to 9th in Abu Dhabi.
02:08Another major item is the red leather jacket Jackson wore in the 1983 music video.
02:14For Thriller, the loafers he wore in the video will also be offered.
