00:00Good morning and welcome.
00:03I believe sooner or later that will happen, but we have priorities.
00:07As you know, Turkish Astronaut and Scientific Mission
00:11that was executed back in 2024 was one out of ten goals
00:15that we declared to the whole nation back in 2021, February.
00:20And since then we have been very strongly following,
00:26executing the claimed goals of the program.
00:30And now we are focusing on the lunar research program
00:33rather than another human space mission.
00:39But when the proper time came,
00:42we are intending to execute further missions with different varieties.
00:48As the humanity is stepping into the second phase of the space exploration,
00:52we have been already observing the amount of conjunction up there in the space
00:58because of the unexpected number of increase in terms of the –
01:05in the number of the launches.
01:07That's one thing.
01:08Another thing, and Chris has actually described it very well
01:13just in response to a question yesterday during the panel,
01:19what he has observed as he is the most recently flying astronaut among us.
01:26But the second thing I'd like to take your attention is that
01:30for the last 70 years space has always been an area of cooperation and peace.
01:37Even in the times of really almost enemy-like rivalry on Earth,
01:45space has been a platform for those countries who were competing with each other,
01:52fighting with each other on Earth,
01:55but a completely different place for making peace and cooperation.
02:00Nowadays, as you might have already observed,
02:04all the countries are setting up their space forces in order to create a defense force.
02:12If there is a need to set up a defense strategy, that means there is a threat out there.
02:19Our President, High Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has clearly declared and warned all the countries
02:25not to turn the space, which is an absolute place for peace and cooperation into a platform of war.
02:35He made this very clear and we would request all the leading countries to please be careful not to turn
02:43and this platform into a completely different nightmare for the future of the humanity.
02:50Yes, human space flight efforts are very important in the current day of space affairs.
02:57In addition to implementing some flights that would involve Turkish astronauts,
03:03we're also looking forward very much to flying scientific investigations over the next couple of years
03:10until we have another human space flight and learn from that unique environment of microgravity,
03:17develop novel materials and biotechnological solutions
03:19so that we will improve the ecosystem that we have in Turkey
03:25that will create much more sophisticated investigations
03:30and production activities for that matter using some free-flying platforms.
03:36You referred to Dragon, which is a very important human space flight capability,
03:42but also we can host some scientific payloads.
03:45And so we are very much interested in pursuing those efforts as well.
03:49Thank you.
