00:52But this is exciting. You are bringing your wisdom and talent to the UAE.
00:56And let us start with you, Coach Mikey, as the founder of Global Youth Championships.
01:00Ano ba ang mission of GYC and the objective you set for this event?
01:04First of all, thank you for having us here. Good morning.
01:09Our objective talaga is to help kids in the Middle East.
01:13We're doing it for the last four years in the Middle East, in Saudi, in Qatar, and now in the
01:22UAE.
01:22So, we're helping kids na magkaroon ng mas maraming exposure and gusto namin na mabigyan sila ng chance na mapakita
01:32yung talent nila.
01:35Sa Pilipinas, at the same time, baka maskout sila ng mga coaches natin.
01:40Kaya, we're bringing the best of the best coaches from Manila.
01:44So, last year, nadala namin si Coach Kung Fu sa Qatar and may mga bata kami nadala dito sa Manila.
01:51So, that's the goal.
01:53Gusto namin mapakita yung talent sa Middle East na meron talaga dun na chance yung mga bata.
02:03Well, for Coach Kung Fu, as the GYC Program Volleyball Director, to those who will be participating in the Talent
02:16ID and Training Camp, what can they expect from the event?
02:21Well, of course, hindi hira sila makaumin ng Pilipinas yung setup ng Philippine Volleyball dadali natin sa Middle East.
02:31So, super expect nila yung trend ng training sa atin dito sa Pilipinas na especially sa amin as a program
02:40director ng grassroots program natin.
02:54Then, dito sa mga 21 under namin, yung mga technical, tactical, andiyan na yan, through master of basics, so mas
03:03madali na ma-enhance yung skills.
03:06And at the same time, sabi nga ni Coach Mikey kanina yung mabigyan na ng exposure yung mga bata and
03:13magkaroon ng opportunity na ma-scout ng mga Philippine coaches or mga school here in the Philippines.
03:21So, kami at first hand kami, since nasa USC kami, so may chance na since meron kami ng grassroots program,
03:28so yung availability ng training, at least madala namin sa Middle East.
03:34Well, to Coach Yanni naman, ano ba yung mga paunang advice mo dun sa ating mga young athletes?
03:39And also, ganoon rin sa mga fellow coaches na nag-mentoring also of the other athletes ko.
03:44Well, ang advice ko lang, especially sa mga young athletes, is always empty their cups lang.
03:49And then, yung willingness to learn palagi.
03:53And then, of course, sa mga coaches, sa amin kasi sa UST, we emphasize the three Cs.
03:59So, yung competence, commitment, and compassion.
04:04So, again, yung to guide them properly.
04:08And then, of course, yung make a better person din, better athlete and a better person.
04:16So, yun yung ma-advise ka sa mga coaches din.
04:20Attitude, very important yan as a athlete.
04:23Go stay!
04:24Ikaw, anong youth school mo?
04:25Ano ko, tama rin ako.
04:27Ako, overpower ka langin.
04:30Pero ito, back to Coach Kung Fu.
04:31As a renowned volleyball coach, for the young athletes out there,
04:35ano po yung tinitingnan nyo sa isang atleta, yung attributes,
04:38para masabing yung ang laki ng potensya na itong bata?
04:41Well, first, yung ano, aside sa discipline, I think, yung desire ng bata na matuto.
04:47Hindi lang dahil gusto nyo, talaga yung desire na magkaroon ng better opportunity with that, yung willing to sacrifice.
04:59So, madami yun, madami yung sacrifices.
05:01Di ka makapag-celebrate ng birthday mo on time, vacation.
05:05So, sa lahat yung, yun talaga yung, ano, talagang kailangan isang recipe dun sa become a better athlete and elite
05:14athlete in time.
05:15Actually, passion mo rin talaga dapat yan.
05:17So, ka-100% ibibigay mo lahat sa sports.
05:20Para mailabas po yung full potential.
05:22Ito, tama, maraming sacrifices.
05:24Well, to coach niyanin naman, personally, what are you excited about this GYC event sa Dubai?
05:29Well, very excited kasi this is my first time na pumunta sa UAE and then international ang training camp.
05:38Kasi here sa Pilipinas, local and national, ang mga tinuturoan din namin.
05:46So, yun, makakamit ng mga international coaches and players din.
05:52So, very excited.
05:53Si Coach Kung Fu nagpunta na sa Qatar, tama ba?
05:57And then you're going to Dubai naman this time.
05:59You, Coach, ano naman ang excited ka about this event natin sa Dubai?
06:04Well, aside dun sa init ng Middle East.
06:08So, excited ako na makita yung mga young ones natin doon sa mga kababae natin sa Middle East.
06:16So, makita pa namin yung mga potential na bata na.
06:20Kikikutin natin naman dito sa Pilipinas.
06:22Mas mahinit pa yung coach.

06:28At mamik din yung mga former athlete natin na naka-base sa Middle East sa Dubai.
06:33So, marami ang mga yan.
