00:00This is the power that they have to push back on that chaos.
00:04Chaos that's starting a war in Iran that makes gas cost $460 a gallon, diesel at $650.
00:12Claim the lives of 18 brave service members.
00:16Cruelty that literally ripped away health care from 510,000 Pennsylvanians.
00:24Over 100,000 right here in the city of Philadelphia.
00:28It's taking away food assistance from parents who are just trying to feed their kids.
00:34From 140,000 of our fellow Pennsylvanians.
00:38Nearly 60,000 here in the city of Philadelphia.
00:41You know why they did that?
00:43To give a tax cut to the people at the very top who did not need it.
00:47That's the height of cruelty.
00:49President Donald Trump's economic policies, including his reckless tariffs, his war of choice in Iran,
00:55and his tax cuts for the people at the very top are raising costs on all Pennsylvanians.
01:01His response?
01:02Roll that clip.
01:03I don't think about American financial situation.
01:07I'll be real with you.
01:08No one can erase the pain the president's manufactured chaos is inflicting on American families.
01:15Let me explain.
01:19Say we have a single mom in Lancaster City.
01:23Her name is Christine.
01:25This is her.
01:26It's my best impression.
01:27I'll put some eyes and a smile there.
01:30She works at a child care center and makes $32,000 a year.
01:33She can't make ends meet on that salary alone.
01:36So she picks up a part-time job, a waitressing job in a restaurant.
01:40That brings her to about $50,000 a year.
01:45That's her salary that she needs to live on.
01:48Neither of those jobs, though, offer health insurance.
01:52Her kids?
01:52Well, they're covered by CHIP.
01:54CHIP is our great state health care program for kids.
01:58And so she needs health care for herself.
02:01She enrolls herself in Penny, which is how she gets her health care.
02:07That's Pennsylvania's insurance marketplace.
02:10It costs her about $415 a month out of pocket.
02:13$5,000 a year.
02:16So remember, she's making $50,000, but it costs her $5,000 for her health insurance.
02:22Christine's two kids, well, they're not in school yet.
02:26Add on around $2,400 a month for child care.
02:29$1,200 a kid.
02:31So $2,400 right there.
02:33So let's run through what she could get back in her pocket this year alone
02:39because of our bipartisan work here in Pennsylvania over the last three years.
02:44I'm going to show you here.
02:45Look at this.
02:46Okay?
02:48Christine is a child care worker.
02:50Boom.
02:50Right there.
02:51She's one of the 39,000 people getting $645 back in her pocket from a child care recruitment
03:00and retention bonus, a program we fought for and secured in the last budget.
03:05Christine is also one of the 940,000 Pennsylvanians eligible for the working Pennsylvanians tax credit.
03:14At $50,000 a year, her earning, remember, from the other side of the board, she will get $154 back.
03:21Christine also qualifies for the child care tax credit.
03:25Because we increased how much Pennsylvanians could get back in our first year in office,
03:31she'll get the maximum of $2,100 back in her pocket.
03:37All together, Christine will get $2,899 right there back in her pocket,
03:45all because of the work we've done in Pennsylvania to help her get by.
03:51And that's just 2026.
03:52It doesn't even include the $800 we saved her on her energy bills over the next few years
03:59because I've taken on PJM and the utility companies,
04:03or even the hundreds of dollars we've helped her and folks like her save on their prescriptions
04:09because we took on the pharmaceutical lobby.
04:11Because of his war of choice in Iran,
04:14prices in Pennsylvania average about $4.63 a gallon.
04:19St. Christine has a 16-gallon SUV.
04:22Let's assume she purchases the average amount of gas per year.
04:25The president just sent her a bill for almost $1,000 more in gas,
04:30$898 to be exact, in 2026.
04:34And that's assuming prices don't go up even more.
04:37Let's move on to tariffs.
04:39Tariffs that the courts have ruled are illegal
04:42cost the average Pennsylvania family like Christine more than $2,500 a year.
04:48Think that's bad?
04:49It gets worse.
04:50When President Trump and congressional Republicans,
04:53including a whole bunch here in Pennsylvania,
04:55failed to renew the ACA tax credits that people rely on to afford their health care bills,
05:02the average plan here in Pennsylvania went up 102%.
05:06Because of their inaction,
05:08Christine is paying an eye-popping $2,508 more out of her pocket
05:14for her health care plan than she was last year.
05:17That's over $200 more every month
05:20that Donald Trump and his enablers are costing Christine.
05:24On top of all that,
05:26because of Trump's economic policies,
05:28inflation's at 3.8%,
05:30the highest it has been in three years.
05:35No one, not even a governor,
05:37can completely erase the unprecedented rising costs
05:41that this president and his enablers have caused.
05:44I understand why people are so frustrated.
05:46I'm frustrated.
05:47Look, for Christine, we put about $3,000 back in her pocket.
05:53But then Trump's policies have cost her right here about $6,000.
05:59I mean, come on.
06:00You put me in this office to fight every single day
06:04to lower costs and make life better for Pennsylvanians,
06:07no matter what or who stands in our way.
06:10I will never, and I have never, forgotten that.
06:13So while Donald Trump continues to make life harder,
06:16I'm going to keep working to make it easier
06:19and make it more affordable
06:20for folks like Christine and for all of you.
