Through four weeks, Tim Barbalace, Ken Weinman, and Femi Ayanbadejo share their biggest takeaways from the Ravens. The biggest disappointment so far? A defense that hasn’t lived up to expectations and continues to leave plenty to be desired.

00:00I thought this defense would be better.
00:02It's four games.
00:03Could they still get to that point?
00:05Sure.
00:05But I thought this defense was going to have to lead the way
00:10while this offense was finding its way to start the season.
00:13It's kind of been roles reversed, really.
00:16Safeties have been shaky.
00:18We've talked about that.
00:20They still need to find ways to close out games.
00:23Fourth quarter defense is still an issue with this team.
00:26The pass rush absolutely has been leaps and bounds better than it was a year ago.
00:32I'd like to see them add to that sack total, though.
00:36But defense as a whole needs to pick it up.
00:38So I didn't want to start negative, but I do want to piggyback on what he was saying.
00:42The safeties, man.
00:43I thought the safeties.
00:45I was so excited to see Malachi in year two with Jalen Hawkins and Kyle.
00:51And it just hasn't.
00:53I thought Malachi played well on Sunday.
00:55I thought he had a good game.
00:56But Jalen Hawkins has not shown it yet.
00:58And I think it's a confidence thing.
01:00And I point to the play in the New Orleans game where if he's playing with confidence,
01:03he attacks that football and it's a pick six.
01:05Instead, he's waiting on it.
01:06And he lets Valey come in and steal the ball from him.
