00:00Sources are telling us that Michael Bay is coming back to direct the eighth Transformers movie.
00:06Of course, Michael Bay, who is behind the action epics like Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, and Bad Boys,
00:13also directed the first five Transformers films, which made something like $4.4 billion at the
00:20global box office. Now, he stepped away in 2017 and handed the reins off, so this will be his
00:27first return to the franchise in about a decade. The movie, of course, is a Paramount film, but now
00:34Paramount is part of David Ellison's Skydance, and the Transformers seems very much in David
00:40Ellison's wheelhouse, right? He was a producer of films in the Terminator, Top Gun, and Mission
00:47Impossible franchises. He bought Paramount in 2025, so this film seems to make a lot of sense for a
00:54Skydance slate. As we say, the deal isn't totally done, but we hear it's going to happen, and that
01:00Bay's been trying to get final cut on the film. An eighth Transformers movie seems like a perfect
01:06project for the studio, which made its debut on Wall Street today. You can read more in the Page Six
01:12newsletter for both news on the Michael Bay Transformers movie, according to sources, as well
01:20as Skydance's first day. I feel like for this story, I've almost dressed kind of like a director
01:27inadvertently. I'm just missing like a hat that says like USS something, you know, aircraft carrier.
01:36And cut!
