00:00How much money does he get from the King? And how does the King make sure that money's not used?
00:05Well, again, the palace won't discuss this. He used to get an allowance to cover all his costs at Royal
00:11Lodge.
00:11When he refused to move out of Royal Lodge, the King just scrapped the allowance and said, right, that's it.
00:15Because he has now agreed to go quietly, as it were, to this farm in Norfolk, the King does meet
00:21basic expenses.
00:22It's for one or two staff. I mean, I think the chief chunk of the money is spent actually on
00:28security,
00:28because he does need security. But what the King can't have, the King is the sort of fountain of the
00:33judiciary,
00:33if you like, the head of the judiciary, can't have his money being spent by his brother against his police
00:39and his courts.
00:40So that's why the palace has been very clear.
00:42And the King says this is the King's money. Although, I mean, exactly what that means.
00:47It's not public money. The money that is supporting Andrew is not.
00:51It's the King's private wealth that is supporting his brother.
00:56And, you know, it's said to be the first time since 1649 that a member of the royal family has
01:03challenged the law in this way.
01:06The King must be furious.
01:07Yeah, I think they're not happy. But, I mean, as with all things to do with Andrew,
01:11it's a sort of, you know, roll your eyes and hope it goes away.
