00:06in Rhode Island do you spend a lot of time in Rhode Island since you've uh since you found
00:10New England we've spent a few uh weekends down in Rhode Island and uh yeah I've gotten to enjoy
00:17it a few times in the in the year and a half we've been here all right he doesn't get
00:22a little
00:23round of applause for that I mean he's talking about your state he's talking about your state
00:27um new new stadium and tough to win on the road what what do you expect that environment is going
00:35to be like up there on Sunday Robert yeah tough divisional matchup obviously going up against the
00:41former MVP um a guy who can do it all with the ball in his hands not to mention he
00:48can give it off to
00:48James Cook who can run with any of the best runners in our league so it's going to be a
00:54really great
00:55challenge especially for our defense this week Robert when you look at this offense and you look
01:00at uh Josh Allen what do you have to do as a defense to make his day uncomfortable you have
01:09to
01:09have 11 people at the point of attack at all times when he has the ball in his hands whether
01:14you're
01:14downfield coverage and whether you're rushing him whether you're um spying him your total focus
01:22needs to be on where he's going with that football and uh I think if we have 11 people with
01:27that
01:27mentality on every play we'll we'll do a good job Robert defensively what was the main difference
01:33for you guys going from only letting up three points against Pittsburgh and then 35 last weekend
01:38and how do you get back to that playing way against Pittsburgh yeah you just take it one play at
01:44a time
01:44you play fundamentally sound football you communicate with your teammates you trust your position on the
01:49field and you go out there and you make great decisions uh we look forward to getting back to
01:55our style of defense which is fast and physical trusting each other and um we're going to go out
02:00there and do that on Sunday how demoralizing is it on defense when you have an offense that's been
02:07turning the ball over as much as it's been these through these first three games our job as a defense
02:13is to go on the field whenever we're our job is aligned to go on the field um whether it
02:19be after
02:19a touchdown a turnover a punt wherever they put the ball down that's our job to go on the field
02:27and get
02:27the drive stopped and to get off the field without allowing points so we don't point fingers we we know
02:33as a team we all have to be better all 53 of us collectively uh and individually for that matter
02:40so
02:41um we got a big challenge for us this weekend a team that we're very familiar with but they're also
02:48familiar with us so it's going to be a great challenge robert one of the areas that might
02:53directly affect you your position is you look at the uh tight end kincaid for buffalo he's doing
03:00really well he's had a good season what are the things that you guys got to make sure especially
03:05your linebackers and safeties that you have to to do to kind of slow him down
03:10you got to put hands on him early in the route josh loves him uh as a primary read on
03:16his routes but he
03:17also loves him on that second play that we refer to when he breaks pocket and he's uh scrambling in
03:23the backfield uh he loves to throw the ball to kincaid in those situations so we got to plaster
03:28late in the down and just always know where he is on every play as a leader in that locker
03:34room what
03:35was your message after the last loss and how do you make sure that guys especially younger guys know
03:40that a loss like that can't happen but it's time to move on to to to the bills losses like
03:47that can
03:47happen and they do happen and that's part of our game and uh teams lose big and teams win big
03:53and our
03:53job as a team is to remain together stay together stay close trust your guys um get back to what
04:02made us
04:02who we are and who we know we can be and um i think coach has done a great job
04:08this week not only in
04:09his meetings but in his expectations of practice and of the film going forward so
04:15uh i think it's just about sticking to our fundamentals and being who we really are
04:22some of the guys talked about that meeting that that he had with you guys on monday
04:27and talked about uh bad plays and and holding each other accountable is uh is that something
04:34that you feel like you know you're a leader on this team captain it's something you got that you
04:38feel like you guys need to do more of no absolutely not um i think every man holds himself to
04:46a very
04:46high standard higher standards than anyone outside the building would hold them to um we strive to be
04:54perfect on every snap we know it's not going to be the case but that's our goal and our expectation
04:59every play so we just continue to work as we what if we were three now um at this point
05:06in the season
05:07if you're not getting better if you're not looking to improve on everything that you're doing and to
05:11clean up your mistakes you're wrong so at the end of the day we're going to stick to focusing on
05:17the
05:17process rather than the results and we know good things will eventually happen
05:21robert the last time we spoke to you you said that drake needed to stop beating himself up so
05:26much um after the game against jacksonville he was asked about his shoulder and he didn't do much to
05:33dispel the notion that it wasn't 100 percent uh what was your reaction to drake's comments and how
05:39does his shoulder look to you in practice yeah i love drake i love everything that he stands for
05:46i think he's a leader he puts all that weight on himself knowing that we all have to be better
05:52we
05:53we can't expect our offense to drive the ball 95 yards every drive as a defense we got to find
06:00a
06:00way to get turnovers i mean it's hard to go 95 yards in this league so um this is a
06:05team game this
06:06is a team sport i love drake and his competitive spirit each and every day so i know he's gonna
06:12get
06:12things turned around and once he opens it up we're gonna be saying oh it's drake so
06:19give it to us i'm fired up for him drake may turn this thing around and we all believe it
06:24we know
06:24he believes it he's made so many great plays it's just about stringing them all together and doing
06:29it for 60 minutes and myself included i gotta have a 60 minute game and i know every man in
06:34that that
06:35locker room is looking themselves in the mirror saying what can i do to have my best 60 minute
06:39performance on sunday awesome fantastic robert splain you're the best go get him sunday and
