00:00Did you know a single trampled flower garland stripped the gods of eternal power?
00:05Ask yourself, how easily does your own pride throw away a gift?
00:08The Vishnu Purana records the day the gods lost everything.
00:12Hot-tempered sage Durvasa walked the earth bearing a celestial wreath.
00:15He met Indra, king of the gods, riding a giant white elephant.
00:20Out of respect, the sage offered the garland to the king.
00:23Think about the arrogance of treating the universe's grace like trash.
00:27Indra carelessly draped the flowers over his elephant's head.
00:31Irritated by the scent, the beast flung them to the dirt.
00:35The beast saw only weeds, but the king knew better.
00:38Durvasa's eyes flared with rage as he blocked their path.
00:41Your wealth has blinded you, Durvasa roared, so you shall lose it all.
00:46He cursed the heavens to lose all strength and fortune instantly.
00:50Instantly Indra's crown turned to lead and his limbs grew heavy.
00:54Across the heavens, sacred fires died and gods lost their immortality.
00:58The gifts you treat with contempt will abandon you.
