00:00U.S. President Donald Trump said that additional threats prompted the abrupt removal of its B-1 bombers from the
00:06Royal Air Force Base in Fairford.
00:09Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said the decision was made as to not tempt the enemy into
00:14an attack.
00:16Yeah, I think we can say that. I mean, they didn't fly out by accident. No, but there were some
00:24threats and rather than tempting the enemy, we'll capture the enemy and beat the enemy, but why should we leave
00:31them there? So we moved them around a little bit, not very far.
00:34The aircraft were deployed at the base since March after London granted Washington permission to use it to launch defensive
00:40strikes into Iran.
00:41The base came under threat last week when concerns were raised after individuals in white vans acting suspiciously were reported
00:49to authorities, initially perceived to be a terror plot.
00:53Six London-based Bretons were arrested and subsequently released on bail, one of them a dual UK-Iranian national, pending
01:01further investigations and much to Trump's disapproval.
01:04Authorities say no explosives were located in the suspect's vans, but a quantity of petrol was recovered.
01:11UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham stressed, however, that there were strong indications that Tehran had a hand in the attack,
01:17allegations Iran vehemently rejected.
