00:00Yo!
00:00What's that?
00:02What's that?
00:03Da!
00:04Ha ha ha!
00:07Hold on!
00:07Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're taking a look back at some of the old school food commercials that
00:14never truly left our heads.
00:16Whether we actually ate the product or not.
00:19Got your parachute?
00:20I forgot it.
00:21I bought the Wilkins coffee.
00:22I forgot that too.
00:24You'll never forget this.
00:27Number 10.
00:28Honeycomb.
00:29Me want honeycomb.
00:30I'm starved.
00:32Where's the honeycomb?
00:33Oops, back in the van.
00:35What?
00:36Me want honeycomb!
00:38Inside every one of us is a hungry monster ready to burst if we don't satisfy our cravings.
00:44No one knew this better than honeycomb cereal when they created the crazy craving mascot.
00:49Honeycomb!
00:50Mmm, that high-sweet crunch can't get past me.
00:52Me want honeycomb!
00:55Ooh, let me at him!
00:57Whenever the treasured cereal is nearby or someone has denied it, they undergo a crazed transformation into a short, half
01:04-feral cereal fiend.
01:06They'll go on a cartoony rampage until they claim their coveted breakfast and heaven help anyone who gets in their
01:14way.
01:14In some commercials, we get something worse than one crazy craving.
01:18Two or three of them.
01:20I just gotta have that honey-sweet crunch!
01:22Me want honeycomb!
01:25Move it, hula boy!
01:27Save them for two, please!
01:28No matter how many, when you hear the crazed call of me want honeycomb, it's best to give them what
01:34they want and run for it.
01:36Number 9. Fruit Twistables.
01:38The Fruit Twistables Boot Camp.
01:40Are you tired of ordinary tasting snacks?
01:42Do you wish they had more appeal?
01:45Then Fruit Twistables may be for you!
01:46In the mid-2000s, back when Kelanova was still Kellogg's, they sold a fruit snack known as Fruit Twistables, the
01:53fruit snack with a twist.
01:55The only thing more memorable than this forgotten treat was the commercials, where Sergeant Twistable runs a boot camp training
02:02a platoon of talking fruits to become the next big bendy snack flavor.
02:07Move them hips, Pear! Banana!
02:10Big, goofy, and yellow is no way to go through life, son.
02:14Doesn't anyone here want to become the only fruit snack with three bendable tasty twists?
02:19The zany concept and stop-motion animation instantly grabbed our attention, but tragically, the commercials faded away along with the
02:26Twistables themselves.
02:27We never got to see which fruit would have become the big new flavor.
02:31Probably not Grape, considering how often he got squished in every ad.
02:34New tropical storm has arrived!
02:37Three bendable tasty twists of tropical flavor!
02:41What more could you ask for?
02:42Not much, sir!
02:43Fruit salute!
02:44Number 8. Domino's. Avoid the Noid.
02:47There is true evil in this world, and it comes in the form of the Noid.
02:52The Noid hates hot quality pizza.
02:55He loves to make your hot pizza ice cold.
03:00This annoying clay animated mascot is an agent of chaos out to destroy all the world's pizzas,
03:06and no one seems to be able to stop him.
03:08However, Domino's is seemingly the only pizza that can avoid the Noid, as they put it.
03:22No matter what harebrained schemes he cooks up, Domino's is always one step ahead of him, putting a cap on
03:28his reign of terror.
03:29Whether or not Domino's is really that good is up for debate, but there's no denying that they created some
03:34really fun commercials with one of the most chaotic mascots.
03:38Only our pizza is guaranteed to avoid the Noid.
03:43Domino's pizza delivers.
03:45Number 7. Chef Boyardee. The Rolling Can.
03:49Heroes come in many shapes and sizes, and among the greatest is a can of Chef Boyardee in this 2004
03:55food commercial.
03:55Not tonight, sweetie. I've had Chef every night this week.
03:59But I love Chef.
04:01Despite the mother's refusal, the can has other ideas.
04:04It leaps off the shelf and follows the family out of the store.
04:07It traverses through busy streets and highways,
04:10only stopping a few times to obey traffic laws and pay respect to its fellow cans.
04:27Eventually, it rolls into the living room, its brave journey finally complete.
04:32It's a wholesome, funny commercial that inspired viewers to recreate it on TikTok many years later.
04:46Number 6. Orbit Gum. The Orbit Ladies.
04:50Do you want to feel elegant and classy while you're chewing gum?
04:53Orbit made the habit look fabulous thanks to the involvement of perky British ladies.
04:58For a good clean feeling.
05:02Fabulous. No matter what.
05:04No matter how filthy the situation got,
05:06they were there to ensure that gum chewers were left with a good, clean feeling no matter what.
05:11Or at least keep their mouths clean.
05:14A lot of the commercials of this got pretty unhinged with how zany the circumstances were.
05:19Want stronger teeth? Chew Orbit.
05:21It's now accepted by the American Dental Association.
05:25Smashing!
05:25Arguably, the funniest ones occurred when the potty mouths were brought in,
05:29and Orbit made sure to keep the naughty language squeaky clean.
05:32The later commercials put more emphasis on eliminating lingering food smells,
05:36which is funny, but can't compete with faux potty language.

05:56Number 5. Wendy's. Where's the beef?
05:59Where's the beef?
06:00Beef!
06:01Okay, kids, won't get that reference!
06:03Have you ever felt like you're getting less than what you paid for with your burger?
06:07A group of elderly ladies felt our pain in this classic Wendy's commercial
06:11when they're served a sandwich with a pathetically tiny patty from the restaurant's competition.
06:16One lady loudly asking what we're all thinking.
06:19Where's the beef?
06:20Some hamburger places give you a lot less beef on a lot of bum.
06:24Where's the beef?
06:24With that, this blunt response became a staple in Wendy's history as one of the funniest
06:29slogans in history.
06:30The line was famously referenced during the 1984 presidential primaries between Walter
06:35Mondale and Gary Hart.
06:37When I hear your new ideas, I'm reminded of that ad.
06:40Where's the beef?
06:41Other companies like Hostess tried to do their own take on the famous line, but it's hard
06:45to compete with the original.
06:46Hey, where's the cream filling?
06:50Number four, Baby Bottle Pop, the jingle.
06:53They look like baby!
06:55Hey, it's Baby Bottle Pop!
06:56It's a Baby Bottle Pop!
06:58Remember the first time you heard the name Baby Bottle Pop?
07:01The colorful treats you lick, dip, shake, then lick again?
07:05If you do, then you definitely remember the jingle that came with them.
07:09It's a Baby Bottle Pop!
07:11Baby Bottle Pop!
07:12Baby Bottle Pops!
07:13A candy pop, you lick and dip!
07:14It's a short but literally sweet pop tune as a group of teens sings about the titular
07:19treat.
07:19Even to those who've never tried a pop, the jingle has definitely been stuck in our heads
07:23at some point.
07:24It got to the point where even the Jonas Brothers had to give their own spin on the tune.
07:28Usually, they'd either keep serenading the candy long after the concert ended, or speed
07:33through their show entirely.
07:35Probably from all the sugar in the bottle pops.
07:38Baby Bottle Pop!
07:39Baby Bottle Pop!
07:40You can lick it, shake it, don't get it.
07:42Man, these shows are getting longer and longer.
07:44Mm-hmm.
07:46Number 3.
07:46Oscar Mayer.
07:48My Baloney has a first name.
07:49When it came to writing jingles about lunch meats, it was hard to compete with Oscar Mayer.
07:54Oh, I'd love to be an Oscar Mayer wiener.
07:58That is what I truly like to be.
08:02Cause if I were an Oscar Mayer wiener, everyone would be in love with me.
08:08First, they knocked it out of the park with their animated Oscar Mayer wiener commercial.
08:13Then, they managed to outdo themselves with the even more iconic jingle.
08:18My Baloney has a first name.
08:20It's O-S-C-A-R.
08:23My Baloney has a second name.
08:25It's N-A-Y-E-R.
08:28This simple tune, sung by four-year-old Andy Lambrose, became a household name in a short
08:33span of time, and was one of the longest running ads in the USA.
08:37Let's be honest, we all sang it at least once.
08:40It's catchy and cute enough to stick around for decades.
08:43Don't pretend you're not humming it right now.
08:44If you ask me why, I'll say, cause Oscar Mayer has a way with B-O-L-O-G-N
08:53-A.
08:54Number 2.
08:55Trix cereal and yogurt.
08:57Silly rabbit.
08:58Of all the cereal-stealing cartoon mascots, few have stood the test of time as much as
09:03the Trix rabbit.
09:04All this pale Lagomorph wants in life is to have a bowl of Trix cereal or Trix yogurt.
09:09Trix.
09:10I wonder where they're going.
09:14Trix convention?
09:15I'll disguise myself and take all the Trix.
09:18He concocts harebrained schemes and disguises to trick the kids into giving him the coveted
09:23delicacies.
09:24However, just when he finally gets his prize, his scheme is uncovered, and he's met with
09:28a taunting slogan.
09:30Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids.
09:32Final score, Trix two colors?
09:34Me, nothing.
09:35Honestly, our hearts bleed for this poor rabbit.
09:38Teaching kids not to steal is important, but maybe he wouldn't have to keep scheming if
09:42they just shared their Trix once in a while.
09:44I can still hear them taunting him.
09:49Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids.
10:02How come they just couldn't give him some cereal?
10:05Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
10:09Coca-Cola.
10:10I'd like to buy the world a Coke.
10:12If only a Coke was all it took to bring world peace.
10:15I'd like to buy the world a Coke.
10:18And keep it company.
10:21It's the real thing.
10:23Budweiser.
10:25What's up?
10:26It's simple.
10:27It's hilarious.
10:27It's become a part of our everyday language.
10:30Yo, you're picking the phone.
10:33Hello?
10:34What's up?
10:35What's up?
10:38Eggo waffles.
10:39Lego my Eggo.
10:40Seriously, when will people learn to stop snatching someone else's breakfast?
10:49Lego my Eggo, please.
10:51Life cereal, Little Mikey.
10:53The kid's genuine reaction helped cement the ad's place in history.
10:57Let's get Mikey.
10:59Yeah.
10:59He won't need it.
11:01He hates everything.
11:04He likes it.
11:05Hey, Mikey.
11:06McDonald's.
11:07Two all beef patties jingle.
11:09Bit by bit, it made it impossible not to know what a Big Mac was.
11:13Two all, what was that word again?
11:16Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, and a sesame seed bug.
11:29Before we continue, check out the single from Sound Mojo's album, Balance.
11:34Classical music reimagined as rock, hard rock, and metal.
11:37Check out the full track and album below.
11:41Born in the sunlight, born in the rain.
11:45Life is a rhythm running through veins.
11:54Number one, Tootsie Pop, the Tootsie Pop Owl.
11:58Mr. Fox, how many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?
12:02Why don't you ask Mr. Turtle, for he's been around a lot longer than I.
12:06Me?
12:07I bite.
12:08In another iconic animated ad, a little boy is wandering through the forest, asking this age-old question.
12:15No one can give him an answer until he asks Mr. Owl, which leads to the perfect punchline.
12:20Let's find out.
12:22One, two, three, three.
12:26Sadly, the boy never got a straight answer to the question.
12:29But the commercial has gone down in history as one of the most recognizable candy ads in history.
12:35In the 2020s, Tootsie Roll Industries would release a remaster of the original commercial,
12:40and even animate a new one for Tootsie Rolls with the return of Mr. Owl.
12:44Because they're enjoying every delicious and chihui flavor of Tootsie Roll.
12:51So, how do you pick a favorite flavor?
12:53Let's find out.
12:57How do you pick a favorite flavor of Tootsie Roll?
13:01The world may never know.
13:03What old-timey ads made your mouths water?
13:05Let us know in the comments.
