The video captures an incredible yet simple DIY trick as Harriet uses household items to view a solar eclipse safely.
"It was the partial lunar eclipse. I am a walking coach and the CEO of Walk Yourself Wonderful, so on this day, I took my evening walk to Crystal Palace in London. My eclipse glasses had not arrived, so I checked out a YouTube video on how to view the eclipse without glasses. The answer was to project the sunlight through a colander. Off I went with my colander and a piece of scrap paper in my rucksack. I was not expecting much. What I discovered was the joy and happiness of a crowd whose focus was purely on experiencing the wonder of nature, along with the childlike excitement of watching the shape of the Sun’s projection through my colander change from a full circle to a crescent as its light was obscured by the Moon," Harriet told WooGlobe.
As the sunlight filters through the colander's tiny holes, it acts as a multi-aperture pinhole projector.
