00:00A statue honouring Beatles manager Brian Epstein has been temporarily removed from Liverpool City Centre for essential repairs.
00:09The monument was unveiled on Whitechapel in 2022 following a five-year campaign by the Brian Epstein Legacy Project.
00:17Epstein became the Beatles manager after seeing them perform at the Cavern Club and helped shape their image and their
00:23career.
00:24The statue also recognises his legacy as a gay man at a time when homosexuality was illegal.
00:31Liverpool Business Improvement District, which funded the statue, says it will be returned to its current location once repairs are
00:38complete.
00:39The organisation says it understands the importance of the monument to the city.
