What happened to Bosko? Before Bugs Bunny became a household name, Bosko was an early star of Looney Tunes. But his departure from Warner Bros. wasn’t the end of his cartoon career!

When creators Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising parted ways with Warner Bros. producer Leon Schlesinger, Bosko went with them. “Bosko’s Picture Show” (1933) became his final Looney Tunes short, and the creators began releasing cartoons through MGM in 1934.

Bosko continued appearing in MGM cartoons, with his original theatrical run ending with “Little Ol’ Bosko in Bagdad,” generally dated 1938. His story connects two major animation studios and offers a fascinating look at an earlier chapter of cartoon history.
