The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the schedule for the 2027 ODI Cricket World Cup, confirming that India and Pakistan will meet in a highly anticipated group-stage match.

The 14-team ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. The tournament is scheduled to take place from October 2 to November 21, 2027.

India vs Pakistan World Cup 2027 Match

One of the biggest highlights of the newly announced schedule is the India vs Pakistan match, which will take place on October 10, 2027, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The two cricketing rivals have once again been placed in the same group, setting up an eagerly awaited encounter during the opening stage of the tournament. Matches between India and Pakistan traditionally attract huge global audiences, making their 2027 World Cup meeting one of the most anticipated fixtures of the competition.

The tournament will feature 57 matches across 12 venues in the three host countries.

Africa to Host ODI World Cup Again

The 2027 edition will mark the return of the Men's ODI World Cup to Africa after more than two decades. South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya previously hosted the 2003 Cricket World Cup, making the 2027 tournament another major event for cricket in the region.

The official schedule was unveiled at a launch event held at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) in Cape Town.

With India and Pakistan set to meet on October 10 in Johannesburg, cricket fans around the world will be closely following the buildup to the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup.
