00:13The first YB matchup of the evening is a match that many fans were hoping would happen as the man
00:20that cried and forgot and the former BWC World Tag Team Champion takes on Claudio Cash from the old double
00:27C.
00:27The most playmaking man in professional wrestling and this is basically when it comes down to a strength versus speed
00:38battle where Claudio is no sloucher and he is definitely outclassed when it comes to agility by Pac and I'm
00:46not sure there's many people that aren't outclassed by Pac in his department but you know whereas Claudio is literally
00:52a head above the rest in those departments tonight.
00:55His main advantage over Pac is not only his strength but his wrestling ability.
01:02I am hard pressed to pick a winner and the picks just get harder. If you're handicapping this, boy you've
01:12got your work cut out for it.
01:13You can see Claudio Castagnoli taking over Pac with Pac reversing into the front face lockout.
01:19And now Claudio grabs the ankle and covers him only a one count but this is a matchup that is
01:26international ramifications and this is the same kind of match that Claudio Castagnoli had last night when he faced Doug
01:34Williams.
01:35So Claudio Castagnoli from mainland Europe from Switzerland taking on Pac from England of course. Doug Williams also of course
01:44from England and Pac last night defeating Pac.
01:47Wow!
01:47Takes him up and over the top rope. Not over the top rope but over the top of his own
01:53head does Claudio and Pac has just really got his work cut out for him against the big Swissman.
02:01I tell you what, Pac has had a huge mountain to climb just in professional wrestling and he's climbed it
02:06quickly but this may be the biggest mountain that he has to climb.
02:09The Swiss Alps.
02:10That's right absolutely and Pac but I think Pac is up to the challenge here but Claudio has him grounded
02:17and which he really has to do if he's going to come out on top of this one.
02:21Pac sweeps out the leg of Claudio Castagnoli and Claudio back down to the mat, gets his shoulders up off
02:25the canvas before referee Tony Roma, who is also famous for his ribs, could count the pin fall attempt.
02:32But here we see Pac trying to take out the big leg of Claudio Castagnoli and not a bad strategy.
02:39Now Claudio rolls him back into a pin predicament but Pac still, he's got his legs wrapped around Claudio's one
02:45leg.
02:46And now Claudio though, reversing out or using his body's leverage to get Pac back into not only a submission
02:53hold but into a pin predicament as we saw there.
02:55Only getting him in one count but still, Claudio Castagnoli showing his superiority when it comes to the canvas here
03:03and when it comes to the ground game.
03:06And you can only expect Pac to show his superiority when it comes to the early level.
03:10Well I have to say, you know, wrestling you, wrestling Human Tornado, I know that one thing in wrestling Claudio
03:19Castagnoli, one thing that you may notice, the long limbs, the long legs, which are much harder to work over
03:26than a man of smaller stature.
03:29And as you can see the shoulder factor right there by Claudio Castagnoli.
03:33Hey!
03:34And now Pac, leapfrogs Claudio Castagnoli.
03:37Pac had to be literally 600 feet in the air to leapfrog.
03:40Claudio Castagnoli, Claudio went to hip toss him out of the rim but Pac held on, arm drives him down.
03:45Claudio goes through the clothesline and the miss is rock salt by Pac, knocks Claudio all the way back into
03:50the corner.
03:51Pac's got the crowd behind him, the crowd is fired up, I'm not sure they need any more warming up
03:56from the likes of Pac.
03:57But Pac still, he doesn't care as he charges in, but Claudio charges out, catches Pac with a back elbow
04:02and knocks him down.
04:03Well, yeah, and Pac may not, may want to rethink and just go for a maneuver instead of running the
04:09long way, but look at this.
04:11Unbelievable, just so fast.
04:13Sweeps out the leg, only getting a one count.
04:16Claudio goes to sweep out the leg, but Pac backflips over him.
04:19Pac puts on that break.
04:20And, oh my god, Stanley Sky Twister, press onto the back of Claudio Castagnoli.
04:25Remember he used to do the Sky Twister, like Sky.
04:28I would do Sky Twisters getting out of bed.
04:31And, you know, until one day I blew out my knee.
04:34And that stopped it all.
04:35You blew out your face.
04:36At least in my dreams.
04:38That's how it ended.
04:39But Claudio Castagnoli showing the strength advantage there as he blocked the body slam.
04:43Oh!
04:44Body slam and then just muscled him up from the ground and slammed him back down.
04:49Lateral press, only getting a two count.
04:51Pac able to kick out and stay in this turn.
04:54Claudio not letting Pac get a breath after taking him down.
04:59And now he's just going to take out the arm and the neck of Claudio.
05:03Excuse me, Pac.
05:05And, boy, Pac is super grounded at this point.
05:08He's getting his face moved to the backside of his head.
05:11His legs and shoulders being worked over by Claudio Castagnoli.
05:14Double C really keeping the pressure on the man that Gravity forgot.
05:18And, of course, the winner of this match goes on to face the winner of the other Block B matchup
05:23between Shingo and Shima.
05:25And that match happening immediately after this one.
05:27And so that's another match where it's very tough to pick a winner.
05:31Where Shima, known for not only his high impact offense but also his speed and agility.
05:37Take him on Shingo who is known for his high impact offense but also his strength.
05:43And so, you know, it's funny to say that two similar sized men like Shima and Shingo, there's one man
05:51that has a distinct advantage.
05:53But Shingo definitely, thanks to his bodybuilding past, has a strength advantage on Shima.
05:58And it will be interesting to see how that plays out.
06:00But let's keep our attention back, or turn our attention back to this match.
06:04As Claudio Castagnoli continuing to work over the back and shoulders of Pac.
06:09Trying to keep Pac grounded and doing a good job of it so far.
06:13As he's, you know, trying to ruin his equilibrium.
06:17Trying to throw off Pac's center of gravity for those aerial attacks.
06:22He will, Pac!
06:24Claudio Castagnoli throwing Pac up in the air.
06:28Like so much as a pillow.
06:31Just throwing him up.
06:32And I've never seen that before in my years as a wrestler or a commentator.
06:38And now with the giant swing, Claudio Castagnoli just going round and round.
06:42And you can see Pac's arms just hanging limp.
06:45Dangling!
06:46After he was thrown so high in the air by Claudio Castagnoli.
06:49And Claudio just keeps going and going.
06:51I love how many revolutions they are.
06:54But he's gotta be nearing 15 or 16.
06:5717 maybe.
06:5818, perhaps 20 million.
07:00I'm not sure.
07:01Wow!
07:01I closed my eyes for a second.
07:0320 million and 3.
07:0520 million and 4.
07:0620 million and 5.
07:08Revolution giant swing.
07:10The most ever in the history of the entire world and universe.
07:14Absolutely.
07:16And Claudio with the presence of mind to get a cover, a 2 count only.
07:20Wow!
07:21And we saw the cog go up in the air.
07:24Almost hit his head on the roof.
07:26Literally and figuratively.
07:28Very nearly indeed.
07:29Claudio Castagnoli with a 20 million and 5.
07:32Revolution giant swing.
07:34The first of its kind in professional wrestling.
07:41Claudio with the suplex holds on and tries to go for the pin.
07:45Only getting a 2 count as Pac able to kick out.
07:48You can see Pac wincing after he kicked out his back and shoulders.
07:52Really feeling the punishment that was dished out by Double C earlier on.
07:56And continues to be dished out by Claudio Castagnoli in this match.
07:59Claudio charges in, catches Pac with an elbow inside of the head.
08:02One more time.
08:04But Pac gets his boot up.
08:05And Claudio eats another boot again.
08:08And now Pac up, catches him behind that head.
08:11Rolls through into the victory roll.
08:131, 2, 2 count only.
08:15Claudio kicks out.
08:16Pac charges in.
08:17Oh!
08:17But it's leveled by a hard elbow shot from Claudio Castagnoli.
08:21Going to go in for a slip pin right here.
08:241, 2, 2 count only.
08:26Wow!
08:27That would have been really cool right there because he's really worked over Pac.
08:32And maybe Pac is spinning himself out.
08:34Getting all the 20 million and what is it?
08:36The 20 million or 5.
08:37The revolution up in the air.
08:39And also the heat maybe getting to him.
08:41Maybe he's not used to the Southern California heat.
08:44Body slam and leg drop by Claudio Castagnoli.
08:45And that's very true.
08:47That could very well be a factor here in Pac.
08:49And not only Pac but, you know, many actions.
08:52Claudio Castagnoli, of course, from Switzerland.
08:53Big fan of skiing and the Louvre.
08:56The winter sports.
08:58The winter actually lasts for 13 months a year in Switzerland.
09:01You may not have known that.
09:03And so Claudio Castagnoli, even though he's been in America for probably 3 or 4 years now,
09:08may be unaccustomed to the heat here in Southern California.
09:10May be used to the continuous snowfall in Switzerland.
09:14They are constantly buried under the, I would say, at least 25 feet of snow.
09:18Oh, definitely.
09:2025.
09:21That's a conservative estimate.
09:22Absolutely.
09:23That's a spring day.
09:25But you can see Pac with the crowd behind him.
09:28Trying to get out from Claudio's grip on his shoulder.
09:31And that he does.
09:32And now charging in.
09:34Goes for the head suit.
09:35Oh, my God!
09:38Pac was almost running like a pizza out of the rim.
09:41But had the presence of mind to latch onto the arm of Claudio Castagnoli.
09:45Almost like a safety line to the ground.
09:48Then pulled himself.
09:49And somehow contorted his body.
09:51And caught Double C in a head suit.
09:53And took him down.
09:54Oh!
09:56Jumping work on Lana over the top rope to the outside.
10:00Claudio Castagnoli crashes hard down on the concrete.
10:04And Pac, truly the man that gravity forgot here, turns things around in his favor.
10:10Here in this quarterfinal matchup in the 2007 Battle of Los Angeles.
10:15With moves like that, gravity may want to get in touch with him.
10:17Because that is unbelievable.
10:20It might want to be an agent.
10:21At the very least.
10:23Indeed.
10:24Now Pac, he's got Claudio set up.
10:26Going up to the middle rope.
10:27Moonsault pressed off the middle rope.
10:29Getting elevation.
10:32Like guys get off the top rope for that type of maneuver.
10:35But now Pac keeping the attack on Double C.
10:38Kicking him in the legs.
10:39Those long, lanky legs of Claudio.
10:41Now in the midsection.
10:42Goes again.
10:43Zaguri had to go up high for it.
10:44Now.
10:45Oh!
10:46High angle.
10:47Elbert style German suplex.
10:49Only gives Claudio a two count.
10:51Or should I say Swiss Elf style German suplex.
10:54As Claudio just hoisted Pac up from the mat.
10:57And dropped him on the back of his head.
10:59And that is a strength advantage.
11:00We were talking about earlier in this match disco.
11:02Absolutely.
11:03And now.
11:04Um.
11:05Is this the Rick LaVa?
11:06The Alpha Mary LaVa slide.
11:08He went for it.
11:09But Pac rolled out.
11:10Goes around.
11:11Gets him in the head.
11:12And Pac.
11:12Puts on the breaker.
11:13Claudio puts on the breaker.
11:14Oh!
11:15And cuts him out of his shoes.
11:16One.
11:17Two.
11:18Two.
11:18Oh my god.
11:19Pac very nearly pinned for the three count.
11:22Managed to kick out at 2.99.
11:25And Claudio Castagnoli thought he was advancing to the center.
11:29Semi final round to face either Shingo or Sima.
11:32The match that we will see next.
11:33And this is it.
11:34The Ricola Bomb.
11:35He's got him hooked up.
11:36He's got his arms crossed.
11:37He picks him up.
11:38Pac.
11:39Oh!
11:40Oh!
11:41Drive to the back.
11:41He's headed to the canvas.
11:42Two count only as Claudio kicks out.
11:45Whoa!
11:46Justin.
11:47The fate almost turned right there.
11:49And for Pac.
11:51And he almost got out of it.
11:52A strong move right there.
11:54And Pac is really struggling to get to his feet.
11:57Reverse out of the Ricola Bomb into that no satanic style maneuver.
12:01Just driving Claudio Castagnoli's head into the canvas at a very high rate of speed.
12:06And now keeping the attack on the head of Claudio.
12:09He's got him dazed.
12:10And that's exactly what he's going to do.
12:11Pac up stands on the shoulder.
12:14Castagnoli ducks the clothesline.
12:16Whoa!
12:18Almost decapitates Pac.
12:19He seems to have recovered nicely.
12:21Now he's got him hooked in.
12:22Up a man.
12:23Water slide.
12:24Push the leg.
12:25One.
12:26Two.
12:27Oh!
12:28God!
12:28Nearly a three count.
12:30He had him down.
12:31But Pac somehow able to kick out.
12:34And Claudio cannot believe it.
12:37Unbelievable.
12:39And now Claudio Castagnoli in the driver's seat to advance to the next round over Pac.
12:44He whips Pac into the corner.
12:46What's he got in store from right here?
12:48Oh!
12:49Blocks the uppercut.
12:50And now Pac goes up to the top rope.
12:52Catches him.
12:53He's got him in.
12:55DDT drives him down.
12:57Now Pac going up to the top rope.
12:59This could be the 630.
13:00This could be any number of things.
13:02You never know when it comes to Pac.
13:03But he's up there.
13:05Oh!
13:06Twisting.
13:06Shooting star.
13:07Press.
13:08Two.
13:08Three.
13:09That is it.
13:09And Pac advances to the semifinal round of the 2007 Battle of Los Angeles.
13:15With a victory over Double C Claudio Castagnoli.
