00:00There was a lot of craziness over the weekend in the UFC when Barcelos went down and really scared people,
00:06freaked people out.
00:07It was an awesome fight, and then people really didn't know what happened.
00:11Did he have a heart attack? Like, was he dying?
00:15Basically, as he just sort of collapsed in the octagon,
00:19and I saw you say that that was the first time that you were ever seriously concerned and worried about
00:25a fighter after.
00:26Yeah.
00:26Like, we've seen fighters get smoked and sort of, you know, convulsed, and, you know, 10 minutes later, they're up
00:32and they're all right.
00:33People are all bloodied up and stuff, and then, you know, once they get cleaned up,
00:38you wouldn't even be able to tell it was the same person after.
00:41Yeah, that was scary when you don't know what happened, and you think, whoa, that might have been something with
00:46the heart,
00:47or you don't know, man.
00:48Someone's just going to get punched in the face, Tom, for 22 minutes.
00:51You don't know.
00:52Maybe something got launched in the brain, bro, right?
00:54It was a scary moment.
00:57Yeah, it was a scary moment, and, you know, we've had these moments in sports.
01:01You know, we had the Damar Hamlin situation.
01:04I'm a NASCAR guy.
01:05I watched Dale Earnhardt in the Daytona 500.
01:08We lost Dale that day.
01:10You know, 2020, Ryan Newman had a crazy crash in the Daytona 500,
01:16and we were all up all night just waiting to hear the results there,
01:19and we got good results there, thank God.
01:23But, yeah, I mean, we've seen these situations, and like you said, we know what it looks like when somebody
01:28gets knocked out.
01:29These guys do take a lot of damage, and sometimes the knockouts do look scary,
01:33but when it's a situation where a guy just goes down, you just don't know.
01:38I mean, it could have been anything.
01:39Like you said, it could have been a heart attack.
01:40He could have had a stroke in there.
01:42You know, it was a high-paced fight for five rounds, and he looked really good.
01:47I mean, he won two, three, and four.
01:49You know, round four could have been a 10-8.
01:51One judge scored it a 10-8.
01:54And, you know, then the next thing you know, he's just laying on the canvas for no reason.
01:59And, yeah, man, that stuff scares me.
02:01And this is sports at the end of the day.
02:02We don't want to see anybody's livelihood ruined.
02:05And I was happy to hear that, you know, he was awake, you know, an hour or so later,
02:11and he was talking, and it seems to be like he's going to be okay.
02:14But, yeah, those type of situations, they really – it's kind of sobering.
02:19It really does bring it all home, and I'm just happy to see that.
02:22It looks like we have a happy ending here.
02:26You know what is – I don't know.
02:28Yeah, it is.
02:29At least, you know, he didn't die.
02:30But he is 39 years old.
02:33Like, should he fight again?
02:34I don't think so.
02:35He probably will, but I don't think so.
02:38I mean, for the money that he makes, is it really worth risking your life?
02:43And the fact is, too, so we were going to play the video, but it was, like, two minutes long,
02:49two, three minutes long, and it's in Portuguese.
02:51So, like, he didn't – you know, he didn't speak English in the video at all.
02:54But he did a video from his hospital bed letting everybody know he's all right.
02:58But as his manager and coach said, he didn't have a stroke, and it wasn't a heart attack.
03:05We still don't have an official explanation for what happened.
03:09See, that's not good.
03:10Like, do you really – you know what I mean?
03:11Like, were you going to fight again after it?
03:13You don't know what happened last time, or what happens if it happens again?
03:17And remember, look at the Christian Eriksson guy.
03:20It just popped in my head.
03:20Remember the – I don't know if you know, Tom, the Danish soccer player.
03:24Dude, like, same thing.
03:25He basically just collapsed, like, mid-game, boom, like, in front of everyone.
03:30And everyone thought, oh, my God, he just died.
03:33Like, he's dead.
03:34And he came back, and it happened again, bro.
03:38It's like, all right, listen, man.
03:39At some point, like, you know, you have to make a decision.
03:41And he's making real money, at least, too.
03:44Like, you know what I'm saying?
03:44Yeah, for sure, yeah.
03:46He's making real money, and he's like, you know, if you've already nearly, you know, died in the octagon, you
03:53really come back to fight for another 90K?
03:55Oh, but if I win, I get 180.
03:58And here he goes.
03:59I'm doing well.
04:00I'll be back.
04:00I'll come back stronger.
04:03What a life, eh, Tom?
04:05What a world he's in.
04:06These guys are in the hospital.
04:07I'll come back stronger.
04:09And Dana White's with Steve Will Do It winning million bucks over at the Bellagio.
04:13Right, yeah.
04:15But these guys are fighters.
04:16That's what they do.
04:17I mean, this is what he knows.
04:19You know, you see these guys.
04:21You see guys taking fights that you were in the UFC five, six years ago, and we thought they were
04:25done.
04:25And you see them over in BKFC.
04:27You see them fighting for MVP.
04:29All these guys that, you know, probably should not be fighting, but that money is in front of them.
04:34That's what they know.
04:35It's what they love.
04:36And, you know, it's hard to tell them no.
04:38It's hard to tell these guys no.
04:40And I would expect Marcello is probably back in there.
04:44Yo, Romero, bro, is like 49 years old now.
04:48I know.
04:48Yeah.
04:50Dude, like, he looks 29.
04:52Like, it's insane.
04:53Yeah, that guy, yeah.
04:55It's not normal.
04:56I don't know what they're feeding that guy, what he's doing.
04:59He didn't win the fight.
04:59He lost a tail, but it went five rounds.
05:02Yeah, but it was a good fight.
05:03I'm just like, full out, all out roar.
05:05I'm like...
05:06I'm like...
