17:57Why worry? I trust quantum. That's why I keep shopping with them.
18:07Stay tuned. You're going to find out what revolutionary new fishing lure caught every fish in this huge bass tank
18:13at the biggest outdoor show in the East.
18:16They probably will outlaw this. They're going to have to outlaw it. After all, all these fish that was catching
18:20in the tank, I'll tell you, there won't be a fish left in the world.
18:24And what caught virtually every major game fish on the North American continent in only 30 days of fishing.
18:32I've never seen a bait that would do all this.
18:34And you're going to be stunned, thrilled, and totally amazed in its lifelike action and its ability to catch fish.
18:44It's just so lifelike. I've never seen a, you know, a plastic lure that, it's just, it's amazing, totally amazing.
18:50And hear why professional fishermen and fishermen everywhere are absolutely convinced it's the most significant advancement in fishing technology in
18:59almost 50 years.
19:01This bait is phenomenal. It is totally phenomenal. I've never seen nothing like it.
19:06This will definitely change fishing. You know, this lure is beyond its time.
19:12Hello, everyone. I'm Ken Carey. I'm not a professional fisherman, but I love to fish.
19:18And if you do, too, stick around, because in the next half hour, you're going to hear terms like random
19:24movements, spastic action, and neutral buoyancy.
19:27And then we'll learn about genetic response and how this significant discovering fishing technology can actually make fish bite.
19:36The simple fact is, this will change the way people will fish forever.
19:43Introducing the Banjo Minnow, the world's first and only genetic response fishing lure.
19:49The only fishing lure that can actually make fish bite.
19:52A fishing lure that is both radical in design and concept.
19:56A fishing lure that zigs, zags, jumps, and dives in all directions,
20:01while the lure itself swims, wiggles, flutters, and quivers with absolute random action.
20:07It will catch virtually every game fish in the world,
20:09whether it is a giant freshwater pike in northern Canada or a saltwater redfish on a Florida flat.
20:15We caught 26 stripers in a row.
20:1826 casts, 26 stripers.
20:20And you should have seen the expressions of the guys' faces in the other boats.
20:24It was unbelievable.
20:24I was just absolutely amazed.
20:26I couldn't believe it.
20:27Hello, everybody.
20:29I'm Bill Dance.
20:30And you know, I've been fishing nearly all my life and hosted my own television fishing show for the past
20:3526 years.
20:36In all that time, I've only seen a handful of products or innovations that I felt were truly revolutionary.
20:42But I'm here to tell you that the banjo minnow and the banjo fishing system is all of that and
20:49more.
20:49It's going to open up a whole new approach to fishing.
20:52The ideas and concepts behind the system are so simple yet so effective,
20:57they're going to let a lot of folks who have always had a hard time catching fish catch fish as
21:03well as the pros.
21:04Wayne Huckmeyer is co-inventor of the banjo minnow.
21:07And the concepts behind the banjo minnow helped him to become a winning tournament fisherman.
21:13Wayne, the idea of a minnow seems so simple.
21:16Why a minnow?
21:17How did the banjo minnow get started?
21:19Kenny Darbert and I are both fishing guys.
21:22We fish for a living.
21:24I'm also a tournament fisherman.
21:26We wanted to create an artificial bait that fished as well as live bait.
21:31And we believe the reason live bait always outfished conventional fishing lures was that conventional fishing lures didn't look like
21:40a real minnow,
21:41and they didn't swim like a real minnow.
21:44They actually look like a cartoon minnow, and they move with a mechanical or repetitive action.
21:50We worked for two years to perfect this movement, to make it lifelike.
21:55When we had succeeded in doing this, we went to Joe Ranowski, who we considered to be the master of
22:02making lifelike fishing lures.
22:04He took our minnow, he put scales on it, he put gills on it, he put translucency and sparkle,
22:11and he made a minnow that looked like a real fish.
22:16Joe's final creation, one placed side by side with various types of live bait, is remarkable.
22:23And if you put it in the water, it's almost impossible to tell them apart.
22:28That's why it works so well.
22:30It looks like it's alive when you work it, okay?
22:32Joe Ranowski has been designing and manufacturing fishing lures for over 25 years,
22:37and it was his design that caught the largest largemouth bass in the past 60 years, 21 pounds, 12 ounces.
22:44We've taken and put the white area on the bottom, that's all perfected inside the minnow.
22:49We put the translucencies on top, and we've taken and put the glitters inside of there, okay?
22:53Nobody can do that with their minnow like we have done it.
22:55When we created the illusion of a real live minnow,
23:01we greatly increased the amount of strikes we got over conventional lures.
23:06The limitation was the fish had to be hungry.
23:10If they weren't hungry, they still ignored our bait,
23:14because they see minnows all the time swimming.
23:17And although ours was real, they just thought it was another swimming fish.
23:24And that's when we discovered what we call the genetic response.
23:29We found out if we made the banjo minnow have a spastic action of a crippled, dying minnow,
23:38that these predator fish came alive.
23:41It didn't matter what type of fish they were.
23:43It was almost hypnotic to them.
23:45They moved to the minnow, and they ate it because they're genetically programmed to eat crippled, dying minnows.
23:54And we found out we had made a fishing law that actually made fish bite, even if they weren't hungry.
24:01I fished it, and I went from where I used to finish, way down to winning $5,000 tournaments, $10
24:09,000 tournaments.
24:10And it was on a not even a bait this good.
24:12It was a prototype of the banjo minnow.
24:16And you're convinced that's what got you to that point.
24:19Well, I know it is.
24:21I mean, that's what I was winning the tournament and so on.
24:24Banjo minnow co-inventor Ken Dauber has studied fish behavior all of his life
24:29and has been a fishing guide for over 15 years.
24:32His knowledge of fish behavior led to the discovery of genetic response.
24:36That's the one area where our lure just separates and goes into a whole new era of fishing lures.
24:42And when that minnow does that twitch in the water when he's laying there, they can't help themselves.
24:47They've never seen this in a fishing lure before.
24:49There's nothing in the industry that does it.
24:51And our lure gets eaten, and that's why it catches fish.
24:53What I really noticed was the hook in the front of the minnow.
24:57Why do you put it there?
24:58It makes the minnow come alive.
25:00We took the hook out of the fish, which in an essence took the backbone out.
25:05And literally what it did is made plastic swim.
25:09That was the beginning.
25:10Because when we saw what we had done, we said, that looks like a real minnow.
25:15It doesn't wobble or spin around like a blade.
25:19It really looks like a real minnow.
25:22And that was the big, big secret.
25:26The hook is right up in front.
25:29When the fish swims off, he hooks himself.
25:32Virtually 99% of the fish that we caught on this and caught on film all did the same thing.
25:39They either took the bait from the head or they just inhaled the whole bait so that everything went right
25:46into the fish's mouth.
25:47Well, when you struck or pulled, the first thing coming out is the fish hook.
25:52There's nothing in the way to stop the hooking of it.
25:56And it is just a tremendously positive hooking system.
26:00The hook is right at the nose of the bait where the bass is going to suck it in.
26:04And the minute he sucks it in, the hook is in his mouth.
26:06The action of the lure is just incredible.
26:10And when the fish, when the bass in particular, bite it, they bite it from the front and they get
26:14hooked.
26:15I've not missed a fish on the banjo minnow.
26:17Another feature I like about the banjo minnow is this unique weed guard.
26:22Just a slight amount of pressure against that will spring this open.
26:27And the line pull and the hook point are in line for better contact.
26:32And with the banjo minnow, with the hook placed where it is, your strike catch ratio is going to be
26:37tremendous.
26:38And there's no question in my mind, it will catch you more fish.
26:42The banjo weed guard allows you to fish in all types of vegetation, whether it is dollar pads or giant
26:48cow lilies in Florida,
26:50or even over the top of a grass mat for presentation in small openings.
26:54It can be Carolina rigged and dragged over rocks or logs without getting hung up.
26:59The banjo minnow and banjo weed guard puts you right where the big fish are,
27:04and where most people avoid or simply cannot fish.
27:08What do you say to the person who says,
27:10I'm just not convinced.
27:13And all I can say is, is look at the footage that we went out and got.
27:18We said we're going to go all over North America and actually video fish coming up and striking or eating
27:27the banjo minnow.
27:28And we gave ourselves 30 days of fishing to do it.
27:32This kind of fishing challenge has never been attempted.
27:35Can the 30-day fishing tour using only the banjo minnow catch fish from all over North America?
27:41We'll see.
27:42Now it's time to change your luck forever and make fish bite for you.
27:48Introducing the banjo minnow, the world's first genetic response fishing lure.
27:53The lure that can make fish bite even when they're not hungry.
27:57The banjo minnow comes in a complete 110-piece fishing system that includes 24 weedless banjo fish hooks,
28:03from small croppy hooks to large live bait hooks for fishing in the grass.
28:07The patent pending banjo weedless nose hook is screwed directly into the front of the bait,
28:12allowing the banjo minnow to be thrown anywhere.
28:15In the trees, over logs, on top of docks, or through the reeds.
28:22No more piles of grass and no more fear of fishing where the big ones are.
28:27The banjo minnow weedless hook system is the best weedless hook system ever invented.
28:32The kit includes 10 banjo corkscrews for attaching the bait to the hook,
28:3620 rubber weed guards,
28:3910 bait positioning O-rings,

28:492 nose weights which allow the banjo minnow to be dragged on the bottom and through the grass,
28:546 counterbalance weedless banjo jigs in 3 different sizes.
28:58Because the jig always stands up,
29:00you can fish the banjo minnow in a stand-up feeding position
29:03and crawl it over rocks and logs where the big fish hide.
29:06And finally,
29:0724 banjo minnows in 3 different sizes in 4 fantastic colours.

30:10Call now.
30:12You're about to see something that has never been seen before.
30:15Actual strikes caught on camera by almost every game fish in North America.
30:23We began our 30-day tour at Hatchet Lake Lodge in Saskatchewan, Canada,
30:28where I caught the biggest pike of my life.
30:32Whoa!
30:34There is Moby Pike.
30:36Just a tremendous surface strike.
30:38Joe went to western Pennsylvania and caught this giant rainbow trout.
30:43This was the first of three major trout species that live in streams that he caught.
30:50Kenny Darbert went to the saltwater flats of Florida and caught this beautiful redfish.
30:58This beautiful brook trout fell for a three-inch banjo minnow.
31:04Kenny stayed on the Florida flats and took a big sea trout.
31:08I ended my stay at Hatchet Lake Lodge by catching a walleye
31:15and then followed it up with the first jumping lake trout that I have ever seen.
31:23This monster brown trout completed a grand slam by Joe on the major freshwater trout species.
31:32Joe met Kenny in Florida where Joe took this snort.
31:36Just to prove the banjo minnow would catch all sizes of fish,
31:41Joe went after crappie and then bluegill in Florida.
31:45So you just jerk it.
31:47It's that flashing, flashing, kicking, dying minnow.
31:51Right after it, you get the hookup.
31:53Right back.
31:54In February of 1996,
31:56the banjo minnow was demonstrated for the first time in front of a live audience
32:00at one of the largest fishing shows on the East Coast.
32:03These folks have seen and been promised just about everything when it comes to fishing
32:07until Wayne demonstrated the banjo minnow and the genetic response reaction
32:12and showed the audience how the banjo minnow can actually make fish bite.
32:16What I'm going to do is try to take it up the tank.
32:21Easy.
32:21How many hits?
32:22There's one.
32:23There it is.
32:24Two.
32:24Again and again.
32:26They just have to bite it.
32:27But I can't make them let go of it.
32:29There's another one.
32:30Three on one cast.
32:33You just give it a yank.
32:35It takes off in a certain direction.
32:38You let it die and all of a sudden you feel a tug on the line.
32:42He has to bite.
32:44These fish will come up and look at it real close and they just are fooled.
32:49And when that kicks off, they go, that's it.
32:51And they can't resist.
32:53Just like that.
32:55They're convinced it's real.
32:57They're programmed to eat it.
32:59And they eat it.
33:00Even though he was doing the fish, I watched the lure.
33:02And it worked every time.
33:04Uh-huh.
33:04It worked every time.
33:05That's how I was going to do it.
33:06And then you've got 25 or 30 fish in here and literally catch every one of them with one specific
33:11lure.
33:11It's just unbelievable.
33:13Just totally unbelievable.
33:15They know it isn't food, but they're genetically programmed to grab a dying fish.
33:21So they have to.
33:22To prove that anyone can catch fish with the banjo minnow, we asked a man to come up out of
33:27the audience and catch a fish with only one cast.
33:30And this was after dozens of other lures have been through the tank with no results.
33:35So I've never had anybody else try to do this.
33:38But I know, I know what the lure is.
33:42You just let it sink.
33:43Just jerk it a little.
33:45And then watch it.
33:46Just jerk it quick.
33:48That's it.
33:48Now let it sink.
33:49Let it sink.
33:50Little tap.
33:51Tap.
33:52Tap.
33:53There.
33:53There.
33:54Here they come.
33:54He got it.
33:55He got it.
33:57I'd say to the guy at home, believe it or not, I got picked up out of the audience and
34:00I thought it was absolutely fantastic.
34:03I really did.
34:04And that's no bull.
34:06With those kinds of reactions from the crowd at Harrisburg, I asked Wayne what makes the banjo minnow so irresistible
34:11to fish.
34:13It looks just like a real minnow.
34:15It has a lifelike appearance.
34:18Two, it is neutrally buoyant.
34:21It neither floats to the surface or goes crashing to the bottom.
34:25Three, it has random directional action.
34:27It goes up, down, sideways, all over the place.
34:30Four, it has random body movement.
34:33The body of the fish actually moves.
34:36And five is when it dies, it doesn't move at all.
34:41The same way a real dying minnow looks.
34:43These five things combined make this like no other lure in the world.
34:48And so anybody in the world can catch fish with the banjo minnow.
34:53I've been bass fishing professionally for 22 years.
34:56I've won over 300 bass tournaments.
34:58And in 22 years of bass fishing professionally, I'll tell you, I've never, ever seen a bait that has excited
35:06me and shown me the capabilities of what I've been missing all these years like the banjo lure.
35:11I mean, this bait is phenomenal.
35:13It is totally phenomenal.
35:15I've never seen nothing like it.
35:16The banjo minnow, with this type of hooking system, as well as the whole banjo fishing system, is very innovative.
35:23And there's no question in my mind, it will catch you more fish.
35:28Introducing the banjo minnow, the world's first genetic response fishing lure.

35:54to be thrown anywhere.
35:55In the trees, over logs, on top of dogs, or through the reeds.
36:02No more piles of grass and no more fear of fishing where the big ones are.

36:38Because the jig always stands up, you can fish the banjo minnow in a stand-up feeding position
