π¬ At Dhaka Airport Railway Station in Bangladesh π§π©, a passenger train π stands at the platform. The platform shed sits so close to the train that only a narrow strip of the roof is visible between the shed and the carriage tops. Through the narrow gap between two coaches, and in the thin space between the carriages and the shed, groups of people climb onto the roof β¬οΈ to travel on top of the train. They move quickly in clusters, some helping one another up, with bags and bundles in hand π§³.
βοΈ In Bangladesh, riding on a train roof is a punishable offence π«, yet enforcement is very limited and the practice continues. It is extremely dangerous β οΈ. Overhead electric lines β‘, low shed structures, tunnels or bridges, sudden jolts and slippery surfaces can cause fatal falls, electrocution and crush injuries π.
π₯ This awareness video highlights the real risks of roof travel and urges every passenger to board inside the coaches only β
. Your life is worth more than a few saved minutes π.
