Pucón (in mapudungun: entrance to the mountain range) is a city and commune of the Province of Cautín, belonging to the Araucanía Region, located in the south of Chile. The city of Pucón is located on the eastern shore of Lake Villarrica, 70 km from the border with Argentina through the Mamuil Malal Pass, 100 km southeast of Temuco and 780 km from the capital Santiago.

Temuco is a commune and city in southern Chile, capital of the province of Cautín and the Araucanía Region. It was founded as a fort in 1881 by Manuel Recabarren mainly due to its strategic location in the central valley of the region. The city is located 619 and 675 kilometers (as the crow flies and by road respectively) south of Santiago, the capital of the country.
