Tobermory by Saki. This a story about a man trampled to death while trying to teach an elephant German irregular verbs.

Saki makes delightful bedtime reading. He has written over 50 short stories, all masterful. His stories are usually no more than four pages long and can be downloaded off the Net by doing a search on Saki. It is perfectly legal as they are now in the public domain.

Saki is the pen name of H.H. Munro. He was an Englishman who lived from 1870 to 1917, dying in the trenches of France during World War I. Prior to the war, he was a newspaper man, writing short stories to be printed as a serial in the newspaper, much like humorists Art Buchwald and Dave Berry did here in America for many years.
