Chloe was born unable to cry pearls, making her an unwanted mermaid who is eventually sacrificed to the ruthless Northern Wolf King, Adrian. But instead of killing her, Adrian unexpectedly protects her and gives her the care she has never known.
Just as Chloe begins to trust him, her seemingly perfect sister arrives. Believing she was only a substitute, Chloe flees into the frozen sea. Adrian refuses to let her disappear and begins searching for the woman who has awakened feelings he cannot explain.
Then a shocking truth emerges: Chloe may actually be the mysterious mermaid Adrian has been searching for since childhood. Their connection could be far more powerful than either of them imagined.
