00:04I remember I was walking home from high school, I was 14 maybe, and I saw these two kids in
00:09like
00:09literal hoods on the other side of the street, and then they crossed the street, and then it's
00:14that thing of like, okay, I'm either gonna run, but of course at that, like the worst thing you
00:18could do is run. Totally sensible thing to do, but instead I'm like, I'm gonna go run,
00:24and immediately they passed me, grabbed me, take a knife out, give me your money,
00:28and I was like, oh, I was scared, but then on the corner of my eye, I realized who they
00:34were.
00:34I recognized them from playing baseball, and they were like older boys that I knew,
00:38and they were like, oh yeah, what's up, and so I guess I'm off the hook, you know what I
00:44mean,
00:46and that actually, that kid robbed me, ended up, I don't know, three or four years later,
00:51killing somebody with a knife, he went to prison for 20 years. I would never tell my mother anything
00:55bad that happened, like, I remember I told her that story about the aborted mugging at that time,
01:01and she was like, why didn't you tell me, and I couldn't feel life in me, think why,
01:05but I just never would have, I didn't want to worry her, I didn't want to scare her.
