Castro on Mayor Baste testimony: 'Hindi pwede laging walang alam'

"ANG PINUNO AY DAPAT HINDI NA MANATILI NA LAGING WALANG ALAM..."

Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Claire Castro had this to say in a press briefing on Wednesday, Sept. 30, when asked about Davao City Mayor Sebastian "Baste" Duterte's testimony during yesterday's impeachment trial against Vice President Sara Duterte, on the procurements made with GenCorp Industries Inc., a firm linked to the Vice President.

During the trial, it was stated that the firm repeatedly won 19 contracts with the Davao City government, including several cases wherein GenCorp was the sole bidder. Mayor Baste said that he only knew of GenCorp after it was brought up in court.

Castro said that while it is not for the Malacañang to judge whether the Davao City Mayor had any liability, public officials cannot remain oblivious to such affairs. (Video courtesy of RTVM)
