00:03There's a bit of a joke that all children want to be YouTube influencers and that's because that's
00:08a job that they can easily see but there are hundreds and thousands of jobs that they can't
00:12see. 76% of parents want children to learn more about careers and visit more job opportunities
00:18and work sites while they're in primary school. We're bringing five and six-year-olds in from a
00:24local school into our BMW Group Academy to launch Apprentice 2036 with the Sparklab. We want to make
00:31sure that children of the future are getting some exposure and experience of what it's like to learn
00:37in this environment and expose them to the skills that they might need for the future. We want parents
00:43to be able to go away, have a positive conversation, to explore what skills they might have, what
00:50interests that they've got that they can nurture and guide them in the right direction for later on.
00:5638% of parents that didn't start that conversation until their children were 15 or 16 and taking
01:03traditional exams wish they had started that conversation earlier because technology is
01:08changing, the way of work is changing and careers of the future are changing faster than ever. As a
01:14major employer in the UK we want to make sure that BMW Group is supporting that culture towards the
01:20future where vocational careers, apprenticeships are valued just as much as the traditional academic
01:26routes are.
