00:09But let's talk about today. Today, we saw isolated thunderstorms mainly across northern
00:14and western parts of Trinidad with a few isolated showers affecting parts of Tobago.
00:20Over the past couple of hours, around 631 lightning strikes were detected across Trinidad and Tobago,
00:28particularly over western Trinidad and the Gulf of Paria.
00:32We also saw reports of flooding in parts of Port of Spain, Dago Martin, Marval and Sahuar.
00:39But with all that activity today, tonight will bring settled conditions,
00:44but with a few lingering showers in some areas with minimum temperatures at 26 degrees in both islands.
00:50And make sure your umbrella is easy to find because you will need it for tomorrow.
00:55The Met Office says expect fair to party cloudy conditions with showers and a chance of thunderstorm activity,
01:03particularly across Tobago and eastern Trinidad during the morning
01:07and western to central Trinidad and western Tobago later in the day.
01:12Now, as you already know, heavy showers or thunderstorms could bring gusty winds and localized street flooding.
01:18And if you are wondering, yes, the yellow level hot smell alert remains in effect.
01:24Daytime temperatures will reach up to 34 degrees in Trinidad and 33 in Tobago.
01:30Looking ahead at our two-day forecast, Wednesday will start off hot and sunny,
01:35but don't let those conditions fool you because eventually the day will be cloudy by late morning into the evening
01:42with light to moderate showers over some areas, while Thursday will be cloudy from overnight into the mid-afternoon.

02:35Street flooding was reported at home today, but also in New York.
02:39The nor'easter brought heavy rain, strong winds and dangerous coastal flooding across parts of the northeastern U.S.,
02:47including New York and Boston.
02:49States of emergency were declared in New York and New Jersey with roads and homes flooded,
02:54widespread power outages and more than 2,400 flight delays reported.
03:00Strong winds also brought down trees, killing one person in Brooklyn.
03:04Now, over in Nepal, you can see that there was heavy rainfall, triggering hundreds of landslides and flooding,
03:13leaving at least 14 people dead and several others missing.
03:17Homes have been damaged or washed away, while landslides have blocked major roads and disrupted transportation across several districts.
03:25Authorities are warning of more flash flooding as rivers continue to rise.
