With Bijan Robinson putting on a show and a soft NFC South division ahead, do the Atlanta Falcons have the best offensive core in the division? Steak thinks Bijan might be the most talented player in the entire NFL, but Drew questions the handling of Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa. Are you confident the Falcons will take the division title this year?

00:00Here's, and you tell me, Falcon fans, if you're listening.
00:03Now, I felt this way after watching the other night.
00:07I kind of felt this way.
00:09It's like until we see Michael Penix, we don't even know.
00:11I said, but if you want to look at the division,
00:14you know, we just paid three guys to be the future of our franchise.
00:19We paid Bajon Robb.
00:21Actually, we played more than that.
00:21We paid Bergeron and Lindstrom.
00:23Then we paid Bajon Drake and Kyle Pitts.
00:27And then you got Jake Matthews and, you know, a group on offense
00:33that are very capable, in some cases, spectacular players.
00:38Which is what you can afford to do when you're not paying your quarterback
00:4230% of your salary cap.
00:43Right.
00:44So it would make sense.
00:46Now, I didn't think the defense would be this good.
00:48And when I say this good, like, they don't have any players there.
00:51They're literally grabbing one-year guys, veteran guys.
00:55It's a motley crew.
00:55Journeymen guys.
00:57Journeymen.
00:57Yeah, they literally – but they have one advantage, just Jeff Ulbrich.
01:00He's going to find a way.
01:01He's the guy that came to Atlanta.
01:02We didn't have sacks for, like, 20 years.
01:05And last year's group was second in the NFL.
01:07Yeah.
01:08Second in the NFL.
01:09The Atlanta Falcons should win this division and host a home playoff game
01:13because we have better players.
01:15And I didn't think that would happen.
01:17Now, Carolina has some nice players too.
01:19Tampa's – you could see that cycle is going in the wrong direction.
01:22They'd lose Mike Evans.
01:24They get out of the playoffs last year.
01:28They were vulnerable in that division.
01:31New Orleans looks real good.
01:33But I'm sorry.
01:35Those group of guys offensively –
01:38B. John Robinson might be the best player in the National Football League.
01:41You just have to give him something decent around him.
01:44Yeah.
01:44Just decent.
01:46And Barry Sanders, I don't know, did he even ever win a playoff game?
01:50I don't think so.
01:51So he went to the playoffs.
01:52So you don't want him to be Barry Sanders and go,
01:55that's the most exciting player in the league,
01:57but he's playing on a god-awful team.
01:59And he wasn't surrounded by much ever.
02:02Like, there are tools around Bajon Robinson.
02:06You have a really good defensive coordinator.
02:08You have a lot of players on offense.
02:10The dismantling of Green Bay was not an aberration.
02:13That's what that group is capable of because you're paying them that.
02:18Like, Mike Johnson was so good talking about our guards.
02:21He's like, what are Matthew Bergeron and Chris Lindstrom doing
02:24to earn that money?
02:26Two of the top five highest-paid guards in the NFL.
02:30We have every ability to go to New Orleans and play with poise
02:35and win there and just keep moving forward.
02:38I know the Ravens are after that on a Sunday night,
02:41and the Bears where Caleb may very well not play in that game either.
02:45But my point is, as a Falcon fan, like,
02:49are we the way we're going to look in three years?
02:52Absolutely not.
02:53Is Michael Pennix our quarterback in three years?
02:55I have no idea.
02:57Two weeks ago, it's like we're picking top ten.
02:59This week, it's like Michael Pennix could be the future.
03:02But I would say there is reason for optimism.
03:05Every goal you have is attainable.
03:08The league is not built on, what was the Philadelphia?
03:12Trust the process.
03:14Yeah.
03:14Yeah, the 76ers.
03:15You know what Clint Kubiak said about trust the process?
03:19We're 3-0.
03:20I am the process.
03:22That's what he said.
03:23Barry Sanders did win a playoff game.
03:25Shocking.
03:26The Detroit Lions beat the Dallas Cowboys 38-6 in the divisional round in 91,
03:31and they lost to the Washington Redskins in the NFC Championship game.
03:35Eric Kramer, their quarterback?
03:37I'm curious who their quarterback is.
03:38But my point about Atlanta, and you tell me what you think,
03:43404-726-0929, 404-726-0929,
03:47you know, we're not trying to win a division with juggernauts, right?
03:55We're not trying to unseat the 49ers or the Bills, right?
04:00We're trying to say of a soft division,
04:03we have all the talent that can win that thing
04:06because we have a couple of special guys.
04:09You know, is the Detroit Lion offense better than our offense?
04:12I mean, Jared Goff's better than Michael Penix Jr.,
04:14but if you go up and down, right, and they score 35 every weekend,
04:18and we play too much run game, although Jameer Gibbs, I mean, dude.
04:22It's Jameer and Bijan 1A, 1B.
04:24Those guys are sick.
04:25They're unbelievable.
04:26And when you talk about the beauty of the National Football League,
04:30it's this, in a nutshell.
04:33Last week, booing in the home opener, fans irate,
04:39walking out of the stadium, Mike Bell at home at 415 in Noonan.
04:42If they win on Monday night, you welcome in the Baltimore Ravens
04:46on Sunday night football.
04:48You know there'll be a ton of activations inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
04:52That place will be lit.
04:54You're 2-2.
04:55You're probably still tied for first place in the division.
04:58Yeah, and you have the star power.
04:59Like, Bijan's Michael Vick.
05:01A hundred percent.
05:01And that's what he is.
05:02Bijan has captivated the nation with that game the other night.
05:06And I'm not, that's not an over.
05:07Like, they're really good running backs, but they don't look like Bijan.
05:11Like, Bijan is just kind of a freak, right?
05:14Not kind of a freak.
05:15He is a freak.
05:16Yeah, I have a buddy who is very close to Bijan and the team.
05:20He's like, he's, he's the nicest guy in the world.
05:24Yeah, the most humble, nicest guy.
05:25I've only ever heard great things about Bijan.
05:27So, did you see what he looked like on the Thursday night postgame?
05:31He's in a t-shirt and he just, he looks like a middle linebacker.
05:34You know?
05:35He looks like, I don't even know, who was it, who was the white linebacker on the Bears
05:43all those years?
05:44Brian Urlacher.
05:45Yeah, Brian.
05:45He looks like Brian, like in terms of his chest and arm.
05:48Like, dude, that guy's a running back who has those kind of cut athleticism abilities.
05:53I mean, like Bijan Robinson is going, if you have a balanced attack, how are you going
06:00to, you cannot stack seven, eight guys and just tell Michael Penix, beat me man to man.
06:06Drake London, you can't guard man to man.
06:08No.
06:09No.
06:09I mean, Drake London is too big.
06:12He's like a basketball player out there.
06:13Yeah.
06:13Which is what he was great at.
06:14So I, I believe that you're just going to keep getting better.
06:20Somehow you, I think you're the one who said it.
06:22Ian Cunningham or Johnson say Ian Cunningham.
06:24Yeah.
06:25You, you got some guys on defense that was like, okay, these guys can play a little bit.
06:29I mean, heck you got 52 sacks last year out of that.
06:32James Pierce Jr.
06:33Help.
06:33And by the way, guys, James Pierce Jr.
06:35Is five games away from coming back.
06:37So I asked one of my buddies, he played for eight years in the national football league.
06:42He was a lineman.
06:44And I said, how on earth did Penix not play against the Panthers?
06:47He said, the only thing I could think of is potentially this was the plan.
06:53They did not want Michael Penix to start on Sunday and then play on Thursday.
06:57Okay.
06:57Yeah.
06:57I'll give him that.
06:58I guess.
06:58I'll give him that.
06:59Because he looked damn good on Thursday.
07:01Why was Tua Tungvaloa active Thursday?
07:04Why was he active?
07:05You had one job.
07:07Come to Atlanta.
07:08When Penix can't play, you have to be there for him and for your teammates.
07:12Give us two, maybe four.
07:13That's all we need.
07:14We'll pay you a million dollars.
07:15Give us that start.
07:16You can be a savior.
07:17And that dude can play Thursday, but he couldn't go Sunday.
07:21404-726-0929.
07:23Things I learned over the weekend.
07:26I was in coming Georgia over the weekend.
07:28I grabbed my phone and I made a big statement.
07:30And it is blown up.
07:32I'll be honest about why I said it.
07:34And I'll give you the reaction.
07:35It's a reaction.
07:36Also, have you heard about Trevor Lawrence that crushed the hopes and dreams of parlays all over the world?
07:45That's coming up.
07:46Falcon calls as well.
