If aliens come from another galaxy. How long does it take them to come to earth ?. Do they have supersonic speed as shown in startrek ?. Ancient Alien programmes say one thing about how they helped us build buildings and other programmes show that the people can build with their own intelligence, no aliens came into earth. One thing for sure, I don't believe that aliens can make heavy stones float.

根据“古代外星人”理论,拥有卓越科学与工程知识的外星人曾在数千年前造访地球,向早期文明传授其专业知识,从而永远改变了人类历史的进程。然而,这一观点是如何形成的?又是否有证据支持它呢?

00:00:08July 20th, 1969. Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first men to land
00:00:18on the moon. That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. Just like aliens visiting from
00:00:30another world. It had been the stuff of science fiction. Now, everything that could be imagined
00:00:42seemed possible. If mankind could travel the skies and go to other planets, why couldn't beings from
00:00:51other planets visit the Earth? Amidst a wave of modern UFO sightings, a new theory emerged that
00:01:01aliens visited Earth in antiquity and were regarded as gods. But if that were true, wouldn't there be
00:01:10proof? Perhaps there was. All we needed to do was open our eyes and our imaginations. The proof,
00:01:21perhaps, was all around us.
00:01:57In May of 2008, a startling proclamation was issued by the Vatican. For the first time in its 2,000
00:02:05-year
00:02:06history, the Catholic Church acknowledged the possibility that intelligent people could be a
00:02:10life could exist on other planets and that a belief in extraterrestrials did not contradict a belief in God.
00:02:19Which means, of course, that we are now entering an age in which the universe is beginning to be conceived
00:02:27in
00:02:27different ways from what it was before. And if it is a reality for us, why could it not have
00:02:33been a reality for other
00:02:35beings in the universe who could have visited our Earth and perhaps guided culture in ancient times?
00:02:44But just what sparked this sudden turnaround in religious thought? Could the Church have been influenced by recent scientific discoveries?
00:02:54In 2002, the Mars Odyssey spacecraft detected enormous reservoirs of ice beneath the Martian surface.
00:03:02The presence of ice and the possibility of water suggested that life could be sustained or even generated on another
00:03:10planet.
00:03:13After decades of orbiting space shuttles and robotic rovers, the idea of sending man back into space, to Mars and
00:03:21beyond,
00:03:22ignited the imagination and brought back the notion that mankind and alien beings had crossed paths before.
00:03:35In 1968, just one year before Neil Armstrong's epic space flight, a book was published that forever changed the way
00:03:45many
00:03:45in the scientific, religious and creative communities would view their home planet.
00:03:52Written by Swiss author Eric von Daniken, Chariots of the Gods attempted to prove that alien explorers had visited the
00:04:00Earth
00:04:00thousands of thousands of thousands of years ago.
00:04:02When I was a young man, I was educated as a strict Catholic in a boarding school.
00:04:08And there, we had to make translations of part of the Bible, Greek to Latin, Latin to German.
00:04:14For example, in the first book of Moses, before the Lord descends on the holy mountain,
00:04:20Moses was ordered to construct a gate around the mountain, otherwise the Israelites would be damaged.
00:04:27I was shocked. I said, this is impossible. My God, he would never use first a gate to protect himself
00:04:34or to protect the Israelites.
00:04:36What are they talking about? And now the work started. I started to read thousands of pages of the beginning
00:04:44of religions, of every mythology.
00:04:46It's always the same story. Of course, with different names, with different heroes. Somebody descends from the sky to the
00:04:54humans.
00:04:54Our forefathers could not understand it. They believed that these are some gods.
00:05:00I was shocked. I asked the question. Were primitive humans influenced by extraterrestrials, not gods?
00:05:08And if it all was like I suggested, what is the proof? So you start trying to find at least
00:05:14indications.
00:05:15That's what I have done now for at least 45 years. You have pictorial evidence. You have artifacts in archaeology.
00:05:22And you have what's come out of the old literature. Hundreds of indications which you cannot deny anymore.
00:05:28What it means is that we need new explanations for human origins. That perhaps we're not alone in the universe.
00:05:39And that human-like beings came to this planet from some other planet elsewhere in the cosmos. I think that's
00:05:46a very good idea myself.
00:05:48And it really excited people. It was a new way of looking at the past, looking at ancient civilizations.
00:05:54And it put this very modern space-age spin to the whole thing.
00:06:03Chariots of the gods caused a sensation, fueled in no small part by the popular response to books like Frank
00:06:10Herbert's Dune, television shows like Star Trek, and feature films like 2001, A Space Odyssey.
00:06:19The time was ripe, because everybody was talking of possible space travel, of possibility of extraterrestrials. So it was all
00:06:26wonderful coming together. But it was not planned.
00:06:31After a Swiss newspaper printed excerpts of it on a weekly basis, more than 10,000 copies of the book
00:06:38were sold before ever hitting the market.
00:06:40So it was a running bestseller, starting in Switzerland first, then going over to Germany, and then the rest of
00:06:46the world. They had to print and print and print and print. It was absolutely incredible.
00:06:53In 1970, a feature-length documentary was released to theaters, followed by dozens of best-selling books, and growing legions
00:07:02of fans and supporters.
00:07:05Chariots of the Gods was tremendously influential. It somehow spoke to people who want to believe.
00:07:12When I was a boy, Chariot of the Gods was one of the books I first read. I mean, I
00:07:17ripped it apart. I digested it. I couldn't get enough of it.
00:07:20I just fell in love with that book, because it really opened up all kinds of new questions.
00:07:26And Von Donegan was able to point out many anomalies in history that the mainstream archaeologists can't answer very well.
00:07:35He had what was a revolutionary new idea, that of gods from outer space coming to the planet, helping create
00:07:44civilization.
00:07:45When I first read Chariots of the Gods, I couldn't put that book down because it answered a whole bunch
00:07:54of questions that I had.
00:07:57And it was a great combination of archaeology and adventure.
00:08:03And it's just a wonderful way to see the world and pursue these ancient mysteries.
00:08:09And it truly was, I think, the catalyst for what people like I do today.
00:08:14And that is to talk about the mysteries and the unusual and the paranormal.
00:08:19He paved the way for a lot of us to talk about these strange stories.
00:08:23And that continues to grow, and it's going to get bigger and bigger and bigger.
00:08:28People want answers to questions that they can't answer themselves.
00:08:38But in spite of the book's enormous popularity, or perhaps because of it, Von Donegan's theories were scorned by scientists
00:08:46and jeered at by theologians.
00:08:49Of course, it created a storm of controversy.
00:08:53I was completely attacked, especially by the scientific newspapers.
00:08:56They said, come on, he's just telling stories, he's a liar or he's a fraud or whatever.
00:09:00There is not a single piece of evidence that Von Däniken puts forward that cannot be attributed to human ingenuity,
00:09:08technology, and development.
00:09:10Don't try to reduce the scriptures to a science book.
00:09:14Or don't try to reduce the scriptures to an explanation of our modern world today.
00:09:19I don't expect that the scientific community now embraces and kisses me and say, oh, wonderful, great you did.
00:09:26We have to live with critics. This is normal.
00:09:29Chariots of the Gods was full of speculation.
00:09:31I had 238 question marks.
00:09:35Nobody read the question mark.
00:09:37They always said, Mr. Von Däniken is saying.
00:09:40I did not say. I asked the question.
00:09:43Would that be a possibility?
00:09:45In Chariots of the Gods, they make clear differences between speculations and facts.
00:09:52But as controversial as many of Von Däniken's theories are, believers point to tangible evidence.
00:09:59How, for example, could a centuries-old map chart a landmass that has only recently been discovered?
00:10:06It would tend to indicate that the map was made at a time when Antarctica was ice-free, which would
00:10:15be many millions of years ago.
00:10:18And how could a primitive civilization know how to harness electricity or even build a computer?
00:10:25This was tantamount to finding a jet airplane in the tomb of King Tut.
00:10:29And just who were these mysterious designs, only visible from high altitudes, intended for?
00:10:37The signs are made for somebody who flies. There's no way out of this.
00:10:43Could Von Däniken's theory that ancient gods were really alien visitors contain any serious scientific merit?
00:10:52The answer involves a search around the world, and even right before our eyes.
00:11:06If alien beings from other planets had visited the Earth thousands of years ago, how would our ancient ancestors have
00:11:14tried to communicate with them?
00:11:18And wouldn't there be some physical evidence of the time they spent here?
00:11:24One answer may lie in the Nazca desert of Peru.
00:11:28There, atop an arid plateau that stretches for nearly 50 miles, countless geometric patterns and figures decorate the landscape.
00:11:44You fly over this desert and you see some lines. The lines look like airstrips. They start abruptly, they end
00:11:52abruptly.
00:11:58The longest of it is 23 kilometers. Right away. Not one curve. Just incredible. And ending in one of these
00:12:07so-called airstrips.
00:12:11In the mixture of large lines and small lines, you see gigantic figures in the ground. Figures of fishes.
00:12:19Monkeys. Spiders. Apes. But of such over-dimensional size that you can see them only from the air.
00:12:33People built them, or somebody built them, hundreds and hundreds of years ago.
00:12:38Perhaps maybe even thousands of years ago. That could be signs of, hello up there. Here we are. It's something.
00:12:49Various disputed explanations suggest that the lines could have been used for irrigation ditches, giant astronomical calendars, or pathways, perhaps
00:13:00used for religious worship.
00:13:01Looking at NASCAR from the air, it looks like an airport. And it really does. Because you have all these
00:13:12bands, wide bands, that look like airstrips that are laid on top of each other.
00:13:19But you also have these gigantic, long straight lines that go for miles and miles over valleys, over mountains.
00:13:28So once again, you've got this idea of like, okay, people are creating this. But what is the reason?
00:13:34Is it to show these gods in aerial vehicles, land here kind of a thing? Because we just don't have
00:13:43a good idea of why people would do this.
00:13:48And it really does seem that they're trying to signal people who are in the air, in space, or flying
00:13:56around our planet.
00:14:00During World War II, American troops created air bases on remote Pacific islands.
00:14:08To natives who had never witnessed advanced technology, the sight of giant metal birds touching down looked to them as
00:14:16if the gods themselves had turned the Earth into a planetary pit stop.
00:14:21They would see these big planes land, and it was all technology that just out of the sky.
00:14:28They didn't know how these things worked, but they could see them land.
00:14:32And what they liked about it was they were getting free stuff. They were getting cargo.
00:14:39Suddenly, when the war was over, all these airstrips were abandoned and everyone left.
00:14:44And the islanders scratched their heads and they all said to themselves, wow, wasn't it great when all these planes
00:14:50came out of the sky and gave us free cans of corned beef and stuff?
00:14:54We really liked that cargo.
00:14:58Entire religions sprung up from this, where priests actually said, yes, you know, that was our dead ancestors sending us
00:15:06cargo.
00:15:07So what they did then was they began going to the old airstrips and they would build mock wooden airplanes
00:15:14to try and get those planes to come back from the sky and deliver the cans of corned beef to
00:15:21them again.
00:15:21And so you can see how then an analogy with modern cargo cults plays exactly into the ancient astronaut scenario
00:15:30where something like this could have easily happened in the past and entire religions built around ancient astronauts.
00:15:42But gigantic geoglyphs aren't the only mystery surrounding Nazca.
00:15:50I was flying over Nazca for days, hanging out the aircraft with the camera and shooting and shooting and shooting.
00:15:56I have more or less about 4,000 pictures of Nazca. This is really fascinating.
00:16:02You see, this is one of the pictures which prove that this mountain was made flat artificially because you compare
00:16:08it with the mountains around there.
00:16:10There, the mountain's cap comes up from both sides. Here, it was flat.
00:16:13Yeah, this is absolutely incredible. This is one of the most craziest pictures I made about Nazca.
00:16:20The crazy thing is the rubble, the remains of that summit or that mountain top, gone.
00:16:27It's nowhere. It's not in the valley down below. It's nowhere in the region. What happened to it?
00:16:35Because all the mountains around it have their summits. It's there.
00:16:41And then you have other mountains that are as flat as a table with bands on top that look like
00:16:49runways.
00:16:52Another question. Why would visiting ETs be drawn to the bone-dry deserts of Peru?
00:17:00Let's just say hypothetically that a spaceship arrives here on planet Earth and you wanted to quickly find out what
00:17:09this planet consists of.
00:17:11NASCA would be the perfect place to go and visit for some sampling and for some experimentation because
00:17:19NASCA still today is one of the most abundant areas in the world regarding raw materials.
00:17:27There you find everything. You find gold, you find uranium, what have you. It's basically the cliff notes of planet
00:17:38Earth.
00:17:38You go to NASCA and you immediately know everything about what our planet consists of because all the raw materials
00:17:47converge there at high volumes.
00:17:59Why do we have to believe that this simply could not be an expression of an artistic impulse, you know?
00:18:04Is it really that outlandish to believe that, you know, that these natives in Peru might have wanted to create
00:18:11some large-scale work of art?
00:18:13And to say that such a large-scale work of art could not have been created merely for the possibility
00:18:18of having created it rather than the NASCA lines are so inhumanly vast that they could only be admired by
00:18:25people who are capable of flight.
00:18:27Well, you know, you can say the same thing about the Great Wall of China.
00:18:30And yet the Great Wall of China has a purpose that is political, that is martial.
00:18:37Somebody might have walked the NASCA lines as a spiritual labyrinth in the shape of a spiritual totemic object and
00:18:44were in their own way supposed to get a kind of epiphany from that.
00:18:48The fact that we don't understand the purpose of a thing opens it to tremendous speculation.
00:19:00NASCA and the NASCA figures make no sign seen from the earth.
00:19:06You have to fly over it.
00:19:09The signs are made for somebody who flies.
00:19:12There's no way out of this.
00:19:14I hope archaeology sooner or later will come to a similar conclusion.
00:19:23But if visitors from other planets were thought to be gods, wouldn't there be written accounts of them?
00:19:30Perhaps the answer can be found right in front of us, in one of the most shocking places of all.
00:19:44Ironically, Erich von Daniken's firm belief that Earth has been visited in the past by beings from other planets,
00:19:51he's entirely consistent with his belief in God and the Bible.
00:19:56It is merely a question of interpretation.
00:20:02One has to understand, I was a very, very deep believer in God.
00:20:07By the way, I'm still a believer in God.
00:20:10I never lost my God.
00:20:12But for a young man, my God had to be almighty.
00:20:17My God would never need a vehicle in which to move around.
00:20:20A vehicle to go from point A to point B.
00:20:25In what Christians refer to as the Old Testament,
00:20:28there are in fact several accounts of God and his angels visiting the Earth.
00:20:36Sometimes these visitations are accompanied by tremendous noise and clouds of billowing smoke.
00:20:46In the Book of Ezekiel, for example,
00:20:49the prophet claims that he witnessed a visitation by heavenly beings
00:20:53coming down from the skies aboard a fantastic flying machine.
00:20:59As far as von Daniken is concerned, it's a highly detailed description of an alien sighting.
00:21:06This is incredible. Ezekiel not only describes what he sees, he also describes what he hears.
00:21:14He describes the whole thing as being the splendorness of God.
00:21:19The prophet also details several four-faced winged creatures who appeared in the likeness of men
00:21:26and who traveled upon a gleaming wheeled device.
00:21:30Inside the splendorness of God, there was something like a throne.
00:21:34And on this throne was a being sitting looking like a human in glittering clothes.
00:21:40And beneath it, he saw some vehicles.
00:21:44He saw some wings.
00:21:46He describes the noise of the wings.
00:21:48He describes the noise of the wings with the thundering of a waterfall.
00:21:57Ezekiel saw his wheel within a wheel.
00:21:59This sounds more high-tech than supernatural.
00:22:03And we can't suppose that people 3,000 years ago would understand the difference between the supernatural and high-tech.
00:22:12But what if there is more to Ezekiel's heavenly visions than the imaginative insights of a religious man?
00:22:21What if there was a scientific foundation for them?
00:22:25Yes, I once had the opportunity of meeting and spending time and traveling with a gentleman by the name of
00:22:32Joseph Bloombridge.
00:22:34He was a senior chief engineer at NASA, a person involved in the mariner expedition to Mars.
00:22:42He was also in charge of the landing gear for the mariner spaceship.
00:22:47And he told me himself that the idea of the design used for the mariner spaceship that landed on Mars
00:22:56and the mariner spaceship in the mariner spaceship.
00:22:56And the idea of the mariner spaceship came to him from the reading of the biblical text,
00:22:59in which there is talk about wheels within wheels.
00:23:03So, here you have another example of the person of curiosity who conceives of these ideas.
00:23:12Another biblical figure who continues to fascinate von Däniken is the character of Enoch.
00:23:19Enoch is not part of the Bible.
00:23:21In the Bible, in the Old Testament, you find maybe just one phrase about Enoch.
00:23:26That's all.
00:23:27But among the apocryphic texts, there are volumes and volumes if you know them.
00:23:33You find the book of Enoch.
00:23:35Enoch is the first person in antiquity who writes in the first person.
00:23:40I did.
00:23:41I here.
00:23:41I was there.
00:23:43In one of the ancient texts, this great-grandfather of Noah
00:23:47is said to have been taken away by God for 300 years.
00:23:52He was taken up to the sky.
00:23:55Up there, he meets the highest, the so-called highest.
00:23:59In religion, they call it God.
00:24:01He meets the highest, and the highest says to his servants,
00:24:06you teach this young man in our language, and then you teach him writing.
00:24:11So he writes books.
00:24:13Of course, he knows all these foreigners by name.
00:24:17He quotes them by name.
00:24:19He knows their profession.
00:24:21He knows which of these extraterrestrials was the astronomer.
00:24:24So Enoch is the only and first person, thousands of years ago,
00:24:28who gives some of the names of the extraterrestrials
00:24:31and gives some of their professions.
00:24:33How is this possible?
00:24:34We have an eyewitness, and nobody speaks about it.
00:24:38So I really was confused.
00:24:42That would be the argument that the followers of von Tenecken would say.
00:24:46Why is it so absurd for aliens to come when it's completely acceptable for God
00:24:50to intervene in human history?
00:24:53The difference is, von Tenecken's arguing that aliens came and gave technologies
00:24:59to people to advance those cultures.
00:25:01So basically, they gave objects.
00:25:03They gave new ideas and new technologies,
00:25:05and that those cultures advanced because of them.
00:25:07Whereas, at least in the Bible,
00:25:11it's not like God gave humankind a magic watch,
00:25:15you know, or a new missile that they could use to defeat their enemies.
00:25:20God gives instructions, at least the Bible records,
00:25:23that God gives instructions on how to live,
00:25:26but not how to build new devices that further or advance a specific culture.
00:25:32Can we liken Ezekiel's chariot to a UFO?
00:25:37The ancients used myth and metaphor and images to describe their experience of God.
00:25:45I think what we don't want to fall to is a type of fundamental literalism.
00:25:50The stories of the Old Testament emerge out of the people of that time,
00:25:54out of their own context, to make sense of their experience of God.
00:25:59We can gain insight by reading the Old Testament and reading about Ezekiel's chariot,
00:26:04but it's not to draw a strict analogy between his chariot and a UFO.
00:26:14When all of these stories were written down,
00:26:18writing was a fairly new invention.
00:26:21The very first thing they wrote down is something that actually happened to them.
00:26:27It was so important, so compelling, so significant to them, that they had to put it in writing.
00:26:35Why can't modern society come to grips that these stories might be true after all?
00:26:44banget.
00:26:46Van Däniken's research turned up evidence of other arguably extraterrestrial phenomena,
00:26:52and not only in the Bible.
00:26:55Almost every religion has similar stories about deities with spectacular powers and abilities,
00:27:01who come to Earth and directly influence the lives of men.
00:27:06suddenly one day i said to myself now come on this is similar the stories in so many old religions
00:27:11are they talking about extraterrestrials these so-called gods are here they give orders they
00:27:19force the humans to do certain things and one day they disappear but they always disappear with the
00:27:25promise to return in a far away future if as i believe people in ancient civilizations were
00:27:34familiar with space travel people in ancient civilizations were in communication with human
00:27:41like beings from other planets then i think we should expect to find evidence for this in their
00:27:48literatures which we do find throughout the ancient sanskrit epics of india there are numerous
00:27:55descriptions of vimanas or mythical flying machines one of these accounts even dates back over 5 000
00:28:03years in the bhagavat piranha which is an ancient sanskrit history there is a description of a
00:28:11spacecraft that was piloted by a king named shalva it's described that was made of metal it was
00:28:20described that it sometimes appeared to be in two places at once it was described as having emotions
00:28:27similar to that of a butterfly and these descriptions are consistent with what people who observe ufos today
00:28:34report in other sanskrit text such as the mahabharata the rigveda and the ramayana there can be found
00:28:44descriptions of vimana measuring as wide as 100 feet and often equipped with the capabilities of modern aircraft
00:28:54one vimana produced a shaft of light which when focused on a target consumed it with its power
00:29:02it's like a buck rogers or flash gordon movie from the 30s they read like the wildest science fiction
00:29:10people are flying around in airships called vamanas blasting each other and having aerial fights destroying
00:29:19entire cities and the crazy thing is that all of those stories are totally accepted in the modern
00:29:29society of india i don't think we can say that these descriptions are simply imagination because even
00:29:40though they were written thousands of years ago they match what many people today report in terms of
00:29:46observing the actions of ufos were they just mythological tales that they're making up fantasy
00:29:53or these physical real events and they're trying to describe them as the best that they could that
00:29:58seems to make more sense to me i gotta tell you this i would be out of a job in
00:30:04india because there
00:30:05if i were to talk about ancient aliens and ancient gods they would say okay so what else is new
00:30:17when backing up their claims of extraterrestrial visitation ancient alien theorists draw upon two
00:30:24kinds of examples there's the evidence you can read such as that found in ancient texts
00:30:31and then there's the evidence you can actually see
00:30:36among the earliest types of physical specimens numerous cave and rock drawings and stone sculptures
00:30:43found all over the globe you know pictures are worth a thousand words absolutely when you see
00:30:49pictures depicted for example on a cave in italy that show two astronauts with helmets on i don't know
00:30:56what the heck could it be what could it be each of these ancient illustrations or statues
00:31:02depict figures dressed in strange attire for the times and sporting unusual headgear but could
00:31:09they really be representations of alien astronauts visitors from other worlds who touched down upon
00:31:16the earth thousands of years ago all over the world we have statues and sculptures and paintings
00:31:24paintings and depictions of these extraterrestrial beings even in the united states at sego canyon utah
00:31:31we have petroglyphs of very weird looking creatures that have antennae on their heads helmets and halfway around the world
00:31:42in kimberly australia for example we have the exact same depictions of these helmeted beings
00:31:48with a halo around their heads and the question i have is what did our ancestors see that compelled them
00:31:56to put this on their cave walls
00:32:00on yet another continent in guatemala city we have a sculpture that looks eerily reminiscent of a modern day astronaut
00:32:09i mean that thing is wearing a helmet there's some type of a mouthpiece and on his chest are some
00:32:16type of controls or a breathing apparatus
00:32:19how is this possible 1500 years ago
00:32:24and in colombia there were thousands of tomb artifacts that look like modern day airplanes it has fixed wings
00:32:34it has a fuselage and it has an upright tail fin which is not intrinsic to nature but it is
00:32:45intrinsic to modern day aerodynamics
00:32:48did our ancestors see something similar flying in the air absolutely another compelling artifact that was found was at the
00:32:58istanbul museum
00:32:59where you have this headless spaceman sitting inside some type of a space vehicle
00:33:05you can see his hands and you can see tubing that go to some sort of devices
00:33:12he's wearing a suit his legs are crammed in there i mean even to the untrained eye
00:33:18this looks very aerodynamic and it looks something that you know came from outer space
00:33:25these people witnessed something they were told something and they tried to depict it
00:33:32the best way they could with the kind of technology they had at the time and that was simple tools
00:33:38and simple artwork
00:33:39many of these ancient civilizations were widely separated in space and time they weren't in communication with each other
00:33:48but still they have the same kinds of accounts i think it's because they all experienced these things
00:33:56and they all have the idea that we're part of a cosmic hierarchy of beings
00:34:02so i think we can't explain things away so easily
00:34:08but for eric von daniken and other proponents of his ancient astronaut theories
00:34:13perhaps the most significant illustration can be found in mexico
00:34:20the mayan archaeological site of palenque had been abandoned for centuries before it was stumbled upon by spanish explorers
00:34:29so to get to the top of this and suddenly here are the great pyramids of palenque
00:34:38here deep within a secret tomb under one of the age-old temples
00:34:43lies the seven-ton sarcophagus of palenque's seventh-century ruler
00:34:48pakal the great
00:34:50lord pakal apparently died here at palenque
00:34:54he was apparently this mysterious mayan leader
00:34:59he was a giant seven or eight feet tall actually
00:35:03and then they built this pyramid around his tomb
00:35:08the mayans literally worshipped him as some kind of a god
00:35:13king pakal's sarcophagus is adorned with a carving that has become a famous example of classic mayan art
00:35:21most believe the illustration shows pakal descending into the mayan underworld
00:35:27but ancient astronaut theorists interpret the carving a vastly different way
00:35:32on this lap an incredible in chiseling
00:35:36you see a man and he's sitting in a sort of capsule
00:35:40he has some sort of mask on his nose
00:35:42and you see his upper hand he's manipulating some controls
00:35:45from the lower hand he's turning something on
00:35:48the heel of his left foot is on a kind of pedal
00:35:51and outside of the capsule you see a linking flame
00:35:55this is incredible this is absolutely a proof for extraterrestrials
00:36:00three
00:36:01two
00:36:02one
00:36:03zero
00:36:04liftoff
00:36:06if we look at the similarities of what our astronauts look like when they are
00:36:09in a rocket ship or in the space shuttle and have gear attached to them
00:36:13there are similarities being shown so one just has to ask the question of
00:36:17you know is this just an artifact symbolically showing something or are they trying to depict
00:36:22with their own limited understanding of the time what was taking place
00:36:26was lord pakal just some mayan king that everyone liked
00:36:31was he some important visitor from some far off land
00:36:36or was he even possibly some extraterrestrial from another planet
00:36:44although most scientists and archaeologists discredit bondanikin's interpretation of the palenque carvings
00:36:52visitors to the site are often treated to stories and offered souvenirs that support his claim
00:36:58this is eric bondanikin's theory
00:37:00the chariots of the gods
00:37:02you know
00:37:03you see pakal supposed to be driving
00:37:05the rocket
00:37:06holding the controls
00:37:09the pedals
00:37:11the engine
00:37:13and the fire of the rocket
00:37:14this will be the cabin
00:37:17and this is the oxygen
00:37:20mainstream archaeologists claim that it's really a depiction of lord pakal
00:37:24and his journey to the underworld
00:37:26he's going under the ground rather than out into space
00:37:31both are interesting theories and either could be right in my mind
00:37:37in recent years
00:37:39pakal's tomb has been closed to tourists and casual visitors
00:37:42although the sarcophagus is off limits
00:37:45ancient astronaut theorists can still find a wealth of evidence in the carvings along the walls of palenque
00:37:51this is very similar to what's on the lid of lord pakal of his tomb
00:37:56the way he's got his left hand right here in like an odd position in his wrist
00:38:03also some kind of rocket exhaust or something is coming out of him
00:38:10but lord pakal may not have been the only alien who once walked the palenque ruins
00:38:15the mayans had such a advanced calendar and mathematical system
00:38:20why were they so obsessed with the stars
00:38:23one of the most advanced of any ancient cultures
00:38:27and yet the mayans just vanished around 500 ad
00:38:33we don't know where they went
00:38:35and one explanation is that the mayans were some kind of extraterrestrials
00:38:40and they literally left our planet
00:38:44but ancient cave drawings and stone carvings
00:38:47aren't the only types of illustrations that fascinate ancient alien theorists
00:38:52in 1929 historians discovered a map
00:38:57which had been painted onto a piece of gazelle hide
00:39:00they traced the document back to a 16th century turkish admiral named piri reis
00:39:06but in stark contrast to other maps dating back to that time
00:39:10the map depicts land masses that were still as yet unexplored
00:39:15it shows the coast of antarctica as it exists under the current ice cover
00:39:24now that's really pretty amazing
00:39:27because it would tend to indicate that the map was made at a time when antarctica was ice free
00:39:34which would be many millions of years ago
00:39:39the map also accurately charts the coasts of europe and north africa
00:39:44but it's the illustration of northern antarctica
00:39:47that truly astonishes ancient astronaut theorists
00:39:50because this region wouldn't even be discovered for another 300 years
00:39:55we have to remember that antarctica is covered by at least a mile thick ice
00:40:00we didn't have ground penetrating radar until 1958
00:40:03so for a map to exist in 1531 accurately showing the topography
00:40:08it's pretty interesting
00:40:11when cartographers superimposed the piri reis map
00:40:14over a modern map of the world
00:40:16they were amazed to discover that the ancient chart
00:40:20was fantastically accurate in the most minute of details
00:40:24but how could the creators of a centuries old map
00:40:27have known of mountains or rivers that had yet to be discovered
00:40:32in 1531 i really don't know of anyone who was flying above the surface of the earth
00:40:36high enough to map topography
00:40:38and how would they see underneath the ice
00:40:41their maps were so accurate
00:40:44i mean we know that they didn't go to antarctica and explore it
00:40:49but yet they were able to draw these maps of it
00:40:55but if ancient aliens possessed the technology to travel the universe
00:41:00would the only evidence of their journey
00:41:02be in the form of a few carvings
00:41:04or a mysterious map
00:41:05wouldn't there also be signs of a highly advanced technology
00:41:10signs that might be too large to overlook
00:41:14you mean to tell me that people of that time period
00:41:17did this by hand
00:41:19i don't think so
00:41:26when it comes to searching for evidence of ancient aliens
00:41:31eric von daniken
00:41:32literally leaves no stones unturned
00:41:35i have collected for more than forty years information
00:41:39and there are two sorts of evidences to support my hypothesis
00:41:44the one source is literature
00:41:46this might be archaeological or mythological literature
00:41:50and the other sorts are practical objects
00:41:53for example the pyramids are linked to the gods
00:41:57the gods who once descended from the sky to us earthlings
00:42:04without a little interplanetary help
00:42:06how else could early egyptians have learned to stack
00:42:10the nearly two and a half million limestone and granite blocks
00:42:14that create the great pyramid
00:42:18how could prehistoric man
00:42:20move the immense boulders at stonehenge
00:42:24and how could ancient builders at cuzco
00:42:27fit stones so closely together
00:42:29that even a razor blade can't fit between them
00:42:37there's a travel around the world
00:42:38trying to piece together this puzzle of the ancient world
00:42:43there's not that much to really get a good grasp on
00:42:47but what there is
00:42:48is giant blocks of stone
00:42:53huge articulated granite or basalt blocks in many cases
00:42:58sometimes they weigh a thousand tons
00:43:04these things are the size of railway cars
00:43:08and you find them in peru and bolivia and mexico and ancient egypt
00:43:12you have to ask yourself
00:43:15why and how could ancient people have dragged these railway car size blocks of stone
00:43:24stacked them up together into these giant buildings
00:43:29perhaps the most familiar and most mysterious megalithic structure in all the world
00:43:36is the great pyramid of giza
00:43:39the oldest and largest of egypt's three great pyramids
00:43:43this miracle of engineering is believed to have been constructed during a twenty year period
00:43:49ending around twenty five sixty bc
00:43:53but to ancient alien theorists
00:43:55those numbers just don't add up
00:44:00the great pyramid was not built in only twenty two years
00:44:05because logistically speaking
00:44:07you would have to cut transport and put into place one stone every nine seconds
00:44:18and there are modern engineers who have come forward and said
00:44:22we couldn't do this in twenty two years either
00:44:27there are all kinds of theories on how the great pyramid of giza was built
00:44:30so many theories you just sit back and shake your head
00:44:34and that includes e.t. visitations
00:44:38levitating the blocks with some kind of sound system
00:44:41anti-gravity
00:44:45thousands of workers pulling long ropes on a ramp that had to be almost two miles long
00:44:51to get it up to where it is
00:44:55all I know is that they are so finely aligned
00:44:59and that the architecture is so precise
00:45:02that even modern people today with great technology
00:45:06would have a difficult time being that good
00:45:13how for example in the inside of the pyramids in the tombs
00:45:17could they build granite and marble areas that were just so perfect
00:45:22and so clean
00:45:25you mean to tell me that people of that time period
00:45:28did this by hand
00:45:30I don't think so
00:45:34the enormous size and weight of the stones
00:45:37multiplied by the sheer number of them
00:45:40makes one thing certain
00:45:42the construction of the great pyramid
00:45:44remains one of the greatest marvels
00:45:47and mysteries of architectural engineering
00:45:52I don't want to discount human ingenuity
00:45:54because I do believe that we do have the ability to do these things
00:45:56over a longer period of time
00:45:58but the knowledge to build some of these monuments
00:46:00there had to have been some type of intervention
00:46:02or some type of knowledge given to ancient man
00:46:05to carry out those instructions
00:46:07they couldn't have just come up with it on their own
00:46:09in Egypt
00:46:11there are all traditions
00:46:12saying the great pyramid was constructed by a pharaoh with the name of Saurit
00:46:17and then they say Saurit is the same
00:46:20which the Hebrew community calls Enoch
00:46:26Enoch is a prophet in the Old Testament
00:46:29there are books of Enoch called the apocryphic texts
00:46:33you make a connection with Enoch to these extraterrestrials
00:46:37he clearly says he met these extraterrestrials
00:46:41now we have writings in the book of Enoch
00:46:44and he gave the order to construct a building
00:46:47which cannot be destroyed by the thousands of years of the future
00:46:56and the ancient Egyptian texts speak
00:47:01that the pyramids were built by human beings
00:47:05with the assistance of the guardians of the sky
00:47:11meaning the gods
00:47:14and so we have proposed
00:47:16that the pyramids were built by human hands
00:47:20but with the assistance of extraterrestrial technology
00:47:28as one of the seven wonders of the world
00:47:30the great pyramid remains
00:47:32not only an archeological mystery
00:47:34but a geographical marvel
00:47:36in 1877
00:47:39author and theologian Joseph Seiss
00:47:42demonstrated
00:47:43that the great pyramid resides
00:47:45at the intersection
00:47:46of the longest line of latitude
00:47:48and the longest line of longitude
00:47:50the exact center
00:47:52of all the land mass in the world
00:47:55also
00:47:56each of its four sides
00:47:59aligns almost precisely
00:48:00with the four points of the compass
00:48:03though such an instrument
00:48:05wasn't even designed
00:48:06until thousands of years later
00:48:11but is it just mere coincidence
00:48:13that pyramid construction
00:48:15very similar to that practiced in ancient Egypt
00:48:18was also evolving
00:48:20half way around the world
00:48:23there are pyramids on remote pacific islands
00:48:27and in India
00:48:29and in Mexico
00:48:31so this is something that's all over the world
00:48:34archeologists haven't really been able to explain
00:48:38why dissimilar cultures
00:48:40separated by huge oceans
00:48:42are building the same structures
00:48:44and in many ways
00:48:45the same way
00:48:49here in central Mexico
00:48:51stands an ancient city
00:48:52that dates back
00:48:53more than 2,000 years
00:48:56its name
00:48:57Teotihuacan
00:48:58literally means
00:49:00city of the gods
00:49:02and located at its center
00:49:04is the pyramid of the sun
00:49:07incredibly
00:49:08this pyramids perimeter
00:49:10is virtually the same
00:49:11as that of the great pyramid of Giza
00:49:15a structural coincidence
00:49:17or
00:49:18could it be
00:49:19that both were inspired by the same designers
00:49:23couple theories for that
00:49:24ok
00:49:25one
00:49:26maybe they were all taught the same thing
00:49:28by an extraterrestrial race
00:49:31two
00:49:32there were ancient travelers from within this planet
00:49:35who went from one area to another
00:49:37over the thousands of past years
00:49:39and then as some skeptics will say
00:49:42hey
00:49:42that's the greatest archeological way to make it
00:49:45so they just knew it
00:49:47I don't think that's the case
00:49:54at Teotihuacan
00:49:55here you have
00:49:56a giant pyramid of the sun
00:49:58and a giant pyramid of the moon
00:49:59according to the legends
00:50:01these things were
00:50:02built by gods
00:50:03who were giants
00:50:04at the end
00:50:06of one of the destructions of the world
00:50:11civilizations such as the aztecs
00:50:13and the mayans
00:50:14and the hopi indians
00:50:15of northern arizona
00:50:16they believe that the world has been destroyed
00:50:18four times in the past
00:50:20one time by ice
00:50:22once by fire
00:50:22once by water
00:50:27each time mankind rebuilds again
00:50:30and Teotihuacan
00:50:32supposedly was built
00:50:34just at the beginning
00:50:35of one of these four worlds
00:50:40you may ask the question
00:50:42why build these huge huge structures
00:50:45for what purpose?
00:50:47well
00:50:48in Egypt for example
00:50:50either the pharaohs
00:50:51had incredible egos
00:50:52and they wanted to outdo themselves
00:50:54right?
00:50:55so they built these huge museums
00:50:57for themselves
00:50:58or
00:51:00it's also possible
00:51:01that these ancients wanted
00:51:03to leave behind something for us
00:51:07it is written
00:51:08in ancient Egyptian texts
00:51:11the purpose why
00:51:12the pyramid was built
00:51:14was to store knowledge
00:51:17300 books
00:51:19which allegedly contained
00:51:21the knowledge
00:51:23of the universe
00:51:24dictated by the guardians
00:51:28of the sky
00:51:33of course the pyramids
00:51:34aren't the only ancient monuments
00:51:36that continue to baffle scientists
00:51:38and archaeologists
00:51:41there are literally
00:51:42hundreds of them
00:51:44and they can be found
00:51:45in every corner
00:51:47of our world
00:51:52in a remote area
00:51:54of the Pacific Ocean
00:51:55lies one of the most isolated
00:51:58yet inhabited locations
00:51:59in the world
00:52:00Easter Island
00:52:08here
00:52:08over 800 stone guardians
00:52:11called moai
00:52:12stand watch
00:52:13over the island's coastline
00:52:17but are they primitive native carvings
00:52:19or eerie portraits
00:52:21of alien visitors
00:52:22from thousands of years ago
00:52:25whatever they were for
00:52:27they're made to last for thousands of years
00:52:29they're built
00:52:30out of blocks of stone
00:52:32that weigh many, many tons
00:52:34not only are people
00:52:36building structures
00:52:37out of these
00:52:38huge
00:52:39megalithic
00:52:40blocks of stone
00:52:41but this was going on
00:52:43around the world
00:52:44and yet
00:52:45supposedly
00:52:46it's just primitive people
00:52:48doing this
00:52:48for no really good reason
00:52:50it would seem
00:52:51I think one of the things
00:52:52that comes into
00:52:53our considerations
00:52:54of what ancient cultures
00:52:55could have accomplished
00:52:56is whether they were able
00:52:58to write it down or not
00:52:59we're very tied to
00:53:00if we have evidence
00:53:01that they wrote down
00:53:02how they did it
00:53:03then we believe
00:53:04we know how they did it
00:53:05so Egypt
00:53:06we have a lot more writings
00:53:07and drawings
00:53:07that show them
00:53:09building the pyramids
00:53:10give us an idea of the technology
00:53:11if you go somewhere
00:53:12like Easter Island
00:53:13we don't have any real
00:53:14written evidence
00:53:15of what they did
00:53:16and sometimes
00:53:17that leads us to question
00:53:18their innovativeness
00:53:233,000 miles away
00:53:26in the Republic of Bolivia
00:53:27stonework exists
00:53:30which is amazingly similar
00:53:31to the statues
00:53:32of Easter Island
00:53:38Tiwanaku is
00:53:39in fact
00:53:39so ancient
00:53:40that it defies
00:53:42modern dating techniques
00:53:44it is estimated
00:53:45to be over 17,000 years old
00:53:48perhaps the oldest city
00:53:50in the world
00:53:53and somehow
00:53:54the sculptures
00:53:55at Tiwanaku
00:53:56were constructed
00:53:58in the same style
00:53:59and with the same
00:54:00enigmatic expressions
00:54:02as their distant cousins
00:54:03on Easter Island
00:54:06a lot of the stuff
00:54:08with Tiwanaku
00:54:09you can see
00:54:10in earlier civilizations
00:54:11all the way back
00:54:13you know
00:54:13before
00:54:14into the
00:54:15into the centuries BC
00:54:16in Peru
00:54:17you see
00:54:18some of these
00:54:19same patterns
00:54:20some of the same
00:54:21iconography
00:54:22imagery
00:54:23and you can see
00:54:24the ancestry
00:54:25of this
00:54:30but while tourists flock
00:54:31to the ruins
00:54:32of Tiwanaku
00:54:33perhaps the most mystifying
00:54:35of all ancient sites
00:54:36lies just a few hundred
00:54:38yards away
00:54:39of relatively little interest
00:54:41to most visitors
00:54:42Puma Punku
00:54:44is a field of stone ruins
00:54:46that both thrills
00:54:47and stimulates
00:54:48the imaginations
00:54:49of ancient
00:54:50alien theorists
00:54:59in my opinion
00:55:00in my opinion
00:55:01the most significant piece
00:55:03of evidence
00:55:04that we have
00:55:05in this entire ancient
00:55:07astronaut puzzle
00:55:08is Puma Punku
00:55:10in the highland
00:55:11of Bolivia
00:55:18while the pyramids
00:55:20at Giza
00:55:21are incredible
00:55:23feat of achievement
00:55:24compared to Puma Punku
00:55:27the pyramids
00:55:28are child play
00:55:35logic does not exist
00:55:38at Puma Punku
00:55:39because there
00:55:40we have
00:55:42megalithic structures
00:55:43which just lie
00:55:45about this entire site
00:55:47as if ripped apart
00:55:49by some sort
00:55:50of a great force
00:55:53the blocks
00:55:54of Puma Punku
00:55:56were so finely cut
00:55:57that they once
00:55:58perfectly interlocked
00:56:00like the pieces
00:56:01of an elaborate puzzle
00:56:02but with the nearest quarry
00:56:05over ten miles away
00:56:06how did these
00:56:07colossal stones
00:56:09some weighing hundreds
00:56:10of tons
00:56:11even get here
00:56:12we are talking about
00:56:13the place
00:56:14four thousand meter
00:56:15over sea level
00:56:16that means
00:56:17there are no trees
00:56:18up there
00:56:19which you could use
00:56:20for rollers
00:56:20nothing grows
00:56:21except a few grasses
00:56:23and bushes
00:56:24I have stood
00:56:25in front of many monuments
00:56:27however
00:56:28Puma Punku
00:56:30takes the crown
00:56:32because what we find
00:56:33there
00:56:33is so inexplicable
00:56:37so inachievable
00:56:38that
00:56:39the question remains
00:56:41how was it done
00:56:42and for what purposes
00:56:50mainstream archaeologists
00:56:52say
00:56:53that Puma Punku
00:56:54was built
00:56:55by the Aymara Indians
00:56:57and we would all
00:56:59have to agree
00:57:00that in order
00:57:01to build something like
00:57:02Puma Punku
00:57:03you need writing
00:57:04you need planning
00:57:05and you need
00:57:06some sort of
00:57:07a idea
00:57:08where
00:57:09which piece
00:57:10goes
00:57:11and how it ultimately
00:57:12all fits together
00:57:13but there is one thing
00:57:15that all the mainstream
00:57:16archaeologists
00:57:17agree upon
00:57:18that the Aymara
00:57:19didn't have any writing
00:57:21so how was it possible
00:57:23that they built all of this
00:57:25without plans
00:57:26what's really amazing
00:57:29and why the ancient
00:57:30astronaut theorists
00:57:31are so drawn
00:57:32to Puma Punku
00:57:33and Tiwanaku
00:57:34is that
00:57:35the quality
00:57:37of the stonework
00:57:38and the immense size
00:57:39of these blocks
00:57:40is so incredible
00:57:43and perfect
00:57:44that there's actually
00:57:46evidence of machining
00:57:47and that they were using
00:57:49machine tools
00:57:50to cut
00:57:51these blocks
00:57:56One of these platforms
00:57:57is 800 tons
00:57:59and
00:58:00they are so smoothly polished
00:58:02you have some stone
00:58:04megalithic stones
00:58:05with grooves
00:58:06which are just a few
00:58:07millimeters inside
00:58:08which definitely
00:58:09cannot be made
00:58:11with stone-aged chisels
00:58:12it doesn't work
00:58:14with stone-aged chisels
00:58:15so there is another
00:58:16technology behind it
00:58:17The lines cut into
00:58:18these rocks
00:58:19are exactly straight
00:58:20and precisely
00:58:22the same depth
00:58:23from one end
00:58:24to the other
00:58:28It's as if
00:58:29only
00:58:30master builders
00:58:32were allowed
00:58:33to work there
00:58:35because
00:58:36everything
00:58:37is so precise
00:58:39everything
00:58:39is so perfect
00:58:41you wonder
00:58:42how any of this
00:58:43was even possible
00:58:52one of the most intriguing
00:58:53things there is
00:58:54that the stones
00:58:55that were used there
00:58:56aren't sandstone
00:58:57they're granite
00:58:59and diorite
00:59:03the only stone
00:59:05that's harder
00:59:06than diorite
00:59:07is diamond
00:59:08so the only way
00:59:10that this could have
00:59:10been achieved
00:59:11is if the tools
00:59:12were tipped
00:59:14with diamonds
00:59:15American professors
00:59:16who were up there
00:59:17with their computer
00:59:18and other
00:59:18measurements
00:59:18they were really shocked
00:59:20in their literature
00:59:21they say
00:59:22it is impossible
00:59:23to reconstruct
00:59:25Pumapunku
00:59:26it's absolutely impossible
00:59:27but is it really difficult
00:59:29to believe
00:59:30that ancient peoples
00:59:31could have so precisely
00:59:32carved these stones
00:59:33or could build
00:59:35such an incredibly
00:59:35intricate structure
00:59:36from them
00:59:40if it was ancient astronauts
00:59:41teaching them
00:59:42these building techniques
00:59:43why don't we see
00:59:45just perfect
00:59:46almost skyscraper
00:59:47like vertical edifices
00:59:49everything was all
00:59:51pyramid like
00:59:52stone cutting techniques
00:59:54have been invented
00:59:55and reinvented
00:59:56and independently
00:59:57invented
00:59:57all over the world
00:59:58if you think
01:00:00of yourself
01:00:00as a god king
01:00:01and you want to have
01:00:02a structure built
01:00:03that's going to last
01:00:04thousands of years
01:00:05it's much better
01:00:07to build it out
01:00:08of perfectly fitting
01:00:09stones
01:00:10without mortar
01:00:11that degrades
01:00:12and decays
01:00:13and has to be maintained
01:00:14so we see
01:00:16mortarless structures
01:00:18megalithic structures
01:00:20all over the world
01:00:25you have an anomaly here
01:00:27where on one hand
01:00:28these people are supposed
01:00:29to be
01:00:30very primitive
01:00:31they're just one step
01:00:32out of the stone age
01:00:34yet
01:00:34what they're doing
01:00:36are things that
01:00:38we
01:00:38couldn't even do today
01:00:40apparently
01:00:41or would have
01:00:42extreme difficulty
01:00:43and that is
01:00:44building
01:00:45with these giant
01:00:46blocks of stone
01:00:47perfectly
01:00:48fitting them together
01:00:50with other blocks
01:00:51interlocking them
01:00:56the ancient people
01:00:57of our time
01:00:58on this planet
01:00:59truly saw strange things
01:01:01they witnessed
01:01:02bizarre events
01:01:05but those stories
01:01:07other than in depictions
01:01:08and some artwork
01:01:09and things like that
01:01:10they're gone
01:01:12for some reason
01:01:13they're just gone
01:01:14but left behind
01:01:15are incredible things
01:01:17that we have
01:01:18that make you wonder
01:01:19how in the heck
01:01:20were these things
01:01:21built
01:01:22those are great mysteries
01:01:24and I think
01:01:24one of the things
01:01:26that keeps people
01:01:27just continuing to push
01:01:28for the answers
01:01:29are the fact
01:01:30that these things
01:01:31are so out there
01:01:32that they can't
01:01:33figure it out
01:01:34but uncovering
01:01:36the mystery
01:01:36of just how
01:01:38these incredible
01:01:38structures were built
01:01:39would only solve
01:01:41one piece
01:01:41of the puzzle
01:01:42finding out
01:01:43why they were built
01:01:45and how
01:01:46they were used
01:01:47poses equally
01:01:48compelling questions
01:01:50questions
01:01:51that may not be
01:01:52answerable
01:01:53here on earth
01:02:00did aliens really inspire
01:02:02our ancestors
01:02:03to build ancient temples
01:02:04and pyramids
01:02:05and if they came here
01:02:08did they leave behind
01:02:09any advanced knowledge
01:02:10of physics
01:02:11astronomy
01:02:12or mathematics
01:02:14if so
01:02:15is there any evidence
01:02:17that remains
01:02:18to this day
01:02:18one example
01:02:20might be this one
01:02:22often described
01:02:23as the world's
01:02:24first mechanical computer
01:02:26it dates back
01:02:27over 2,000 years
01:02:29the Antikythera device
01:02:31was found in 1900
01:02:33by sponge divers
01:02:36diving off
01:02:37a small island
01:02:38in the Aegean
01:02:38called Antikythera
01:02:40there was a shipwreck
01:02:41there
01:02:42and in it
01:02:44was a coral
01:02:45encrusted box
01:02:47and it was made
01:02:49of metal alloys
01:02:51and it then went
01:02:52to the Athens Museum
01:02:53where a good
01:02:5450 years later
01:02:55they were able
01:02:56to x-ray
01:02:57this box
01:02:59and they were able
01:03:00to discern
01:03:01cog wheels
01:03:03that were interconnected
01:03:05and give us
01:03:07a very good depiction
01:03:08of what this thing was
01:03:10and it is a computer
01:03:11it's a really sophisticated machine
01:03:19it's a very interesting piece of technology
01:03:21because it served two purposes
01:03:23one was that it was an astronomical device
01:03:25where you could
01:03:26by using it chart your position to the stars
01:03:29and navigate your way through the seas
01:03:31it was also an astrological device
01:03:33so that someone could tell you
01:03:35if you were born on this date
01:03:37and your planet sign is this
01:03:38then certain things are going to happen to you
01:03:41when the planets are in this alignment
01:03:42so it was a very interesting piece of technology
01:03:45that literally had more complicated gears
01:03:49and inner workings
01:03:51than a modern day Swiss watch
01:03:52and it's found to be dated
01:03:54I think like 200 BC
01:03:55so it's really an anomaly as to
01:03:57who could have created that
01:03:59and what it was being used for
01:04:04when archaeologists
01:04:05first started to examine this thing
01:04:08in the 1950s
01:04:09they said that they never could conceive
01:04:11of the ancient Greeks
01:04:13having such complicated machinery
01:04:15and in fact they said
01:04:17this was tantamount to finding
01:04:18a jet airplane
01:04:20in the tomb of King Tut
01:04:32even older than the Antikythera mechanism
01:04:35are these carvings on a wall
01:04:37at the Dendera temple complex in Egypt
01:04:41to some
01:04:42the strange designs look eerily similar
01:04:45to objects very much in use today
01:04:48in Egypt
01:04:49there is this underground crypt
01:04:52at Dendera
01:04:53that was always secret
01:04:55and only the high priests
01:04:57had access to that crypt
01:05:00and it's very hot in there
01:05:02very narrow
01:05:03low ceiling
01:05:03and on the walls
01:05:05you have these reliefs
01:05:07of what looks like
01:05:09ancient light bulbs
01:05:12because we have to
01:05:14question one thing
01:05:16how did the ancient Egyptians
01:05:18light the inside of their tombs
01:05:24according to most mainstream archaeologists
01:05:27torches were used by the ancient Egyptians
01:05:29and the ancient Egyptians
01:05:30to light the pitch black chambers
01:05:32of tombs and temples
01:05:34yet nowhere on the ceilings
01:05:36is there even the slightest evidence
01:05:37of soot or smoke residue
01:05:41but if torches weren't used
01:05:43how else could these ancient rooms
01:05:45and hallways have been illuminated
01:05:52another theory that was proposed
01:05:54is that the light was directed from outside
01:05:57by copper mirrors
01:05:59and then there was light
01:06:03hey that is a neat trick
01:06:06and they've actually tried to recreate that theory
01:06:08but unfortunately they failed
01:06:10because only after a few corners
01:06:13the sunlight dissipated because the copper mirrors were too weak
01:06:22also there isn't enough oxygen inside those tombs with which to support or feed a flame of a torch
01:06:32I was once inside the king's chamber
01:06:36inside the pyramid of Giza
01:06:38and somebody turned off the lights
01:06:40and immediately we were in pitch darkness
01:06:43and I said no problem
01:06:45I'll just take out my lighter from my satchel
01:06:47and I turned on the lighter
01:06:49and it didn't work
01:06:51so how were the insides of their temples lit?
01:06:55I mean the only remaining solution is by some sort of an artificial light source
01:07:01and that is for example a light bulb
01:07:06so at an underground crypt at Dandera
01:07:10we find reliefs of such light bulbs
01:07:17Egyptologists' explanation of this
01:07:19and they have to have some explanation
01:07:21there's got to be one
01:07:22it has to be pretty mundane
01:07:24it can't be that it's an electrical device
01:07:26their explanation is that
01:07:28it is a lotus flower
01:07:31and what appears to be
01:07:34a bulb around is the aroma
01:07:37of the lotus flower
01:07:39and so it's just a very odd depiction of a flower
01:07:43but another explanation of course would be
01:07:45they actually had electrical lights
01:07:49but if the ancient Egyptians
01:07:51had used some kind of electric light
01:07:53to illuminate their passageways
01:07:55why does the visual evidence exist
01:07:57only in the temple at Dandera?
01:08:00in Egypt you had different areas of specialty
01:08:04and Dandera was the area where the knowledge of the light giving source was kept
01:08:14and this secret knowledge was kept by the high priests
01:08:19and they're the only ones who were privy to this type of information
01:08:24because Dandera was the special place where this specific knowledge was guarded and kept
01:08:35the scientific community is not saying
01:08:37oh there aren't extraterrestrials or they never did it
01:08:40they are judging whether or not this is a valid scientific theory
01:08:43and what do I mean by that?
01:08:44for something to be a scientific theory
01:08:46it really needs to be something you can test with the obvious experiment
01:08:50but how could the ancient Egyptians have used anything resembling a modern day light bulb
01:08:55without access to electricity?
01:08:58after all electricity wouldn't be discovered for thousands of years
01:09:02that is of course with the exception of what scientists call the Baghdad battery
01:09:08the Baghdad battery was discovered in ancient Iraq
01:09:11scholars today say there's no way that ancient man was using electricity or light bulbs
01:09:17so they look at this Baghdad battery and there's about a dozen of them that have been found in Iraq
01:09:22and the only mainstream theory is that they were using it for electroplating jewelry
01:09:26two major proponents of ancient alien theory
01:09:30Jason Martell and Giorgio Tsoukalos
01:09:34demonstrate just how the Baghdad battery could generate electricity
01:09:38using a modern mock-up of the device
01:09:40well basically this is made out of a clay pot
01:09:43clay just found naturally in that region in southern Iraq
01:09:46and then they would use a small copper lining
01:09:49and something along the lines of an asphalt stopper
01:09:52wrapped around an iron rod
01:09:54and these all applied together
01:09:56and the combination of some weak acidic acid
01:09:59vinegar, grape juice, orange juice in this case, wine
01:10:02would be able to generate a charge by combining these elements with the iron rod and the copper
01:10:07and the combination of that creates an abundance of electricity
01:10:10so what we're going to do is basically just fill the clay pot with some orange juice here
01:10:16I'll try not to spill it too much
01:10:17okay
01:10:18and then we'll go ahead and put the copper rod back in there
01:10:21copper and iron rod
01:10:22we'll give it a moment to kind of fill that copper area there
01:10:25and then by turning on the voltmeter
01:10:27and applying this to each side
01:10:30we should be able to generate a charge
01:10:34and there it goes into the positive
01:10:39and if we give it some time to get the electrolytes really buzzing in there
01:10:43you'll see that this volt will actually continue to rise
01:10:46but while some see the Baghdad battery as evidence that man was sparked on by extraterrestrial wisdom
01:10:53others look at it and simply say, so what?
01:10:57you could take some ancient technology like the Baghdad battery
01:11:01which probably was used for something like metal plating
01:11:04in which you just mix chemicals and it has certain chemical reactions to it
01:11:08that they're using for this reason
01:11:10and we can take and put a voltmeter on it and go, oh look, we're able to get a reading
01:11:14out of it
01:11:14well, so what?
01:11:17that's just a chemical reaction
01:11:18if they were using it, say, this battery to operate other machines
01:11:23where are the other machines?
01:11:24if they were sending the electricity down wires
01:11:28where are all the wires that would have been all over the culture?
01:11:31in other words, it's not likely a one-off invention like that
01:11:34is going to survive without all the other inventions that would have been there at the same time
01:11:40it is a battery, everybody agrees with that
01:11:43but nobody knows why they made it and how they made it
01:11:46what mind would think of that?
01:11:49you know, electrical current backed several thousand years ago
01:11:53it's very strange, but it's clearly a battery
01:11:55the whole idea that ancient civilizations actually had knowledge of electricity
01:12:01and used electricity is an accepted archaeological fact today
01:12:05just like in our own civilization
01:12:08where about two hundred years ago
01:12:10Benjamin Franklin and other scientists began experimenting with simple electrical devices
01:12:16we now have evidence that over three thousand years ago
01:12:21people were also experimenting with electrical devices
01:12:24where might it have led them?
01:12:27what other electrical devices would they have been able to create?
01:12:32I believe they probably created all kinds of electrical devices
01:12:38tombs, temples, ancient light bulbs, even electricity
01:12:43here on earth exists evidence of architectural and technological wonders
01:12:49centuries before we ever believe them possible
01:12:52but if evidence of ancient astronauts exists here on earth
01:12:56what about elsewhere?
01:12:59might we find what we are looking for
01:13:01by looking in the sky?
01:13:10here at the ancient city of Teotihuacan in Mexico
01:13:14evidence suggests that ancient cultures possessed an incredibly accurate knowledge of our neighboring planets
01:13:22some scholars have even interpreted the number and orientation of its pyramids
01:13:28to perfectly reflect a model of our own solar system
01:13:34along the Avenida de los Muertos
01:13:36the Avenue of the Dead
01:13:38the pyramids there align in perfect distance
01:13:43of each of the orbits of our planets in our solar system
01:13:55perhaps significant is the fact that the large pyramid of the sun is positioned at the center of the other
01:14:01structures
01:14:02reflecting the fact that the sun is at the center of our solar system
01:14:07and that the planets revolve around it
01:14:11there was a known fact back then already
01:14:13there was a known fact back then already
01:14:14that the sun was at the center of our solar system
01:14:17which western science didn't find out until much, much later
01:14:26but just how could Teotihuacan's designers have known so early on
01:14:31that the planets in our solar system revolved around the sun?
01:14:37didn't that take many more centuries of scientific progress and investigation to figure out?
01:14:45interestingly enough
01:14:46debunkers will say
01:14:48oh this is just coincidence
01:14:50that these pyramids are aligned with the planets of our solar system
01:14:57but if we go on the other side of the planet
01:15:00to Stonehenge
01:15:02we have another ancient site
01:15:04which is way older by the way than Teotihuacan
01:15:08where if you look at Stonehenge from a bird's eye view
01:15:13you see that these are all concentric circles
01:15:17and each of these circles corresponds exactly with the orbit of all of our planets in our solar system
01:15:28so we have two places on Earth
01:15:31where we have the same thing
01:15:37in recent years
01:15:38Stonehenge has also been interpreted by some archaeologists
01:15:42to be a kind of astronomical calendar
01:15:45one which could be used to calculate events such as solar eclipses
01:15:50but if that were true
01:15:52whoever aligned these massive stones on the barren English landscape
01:15:56would have to have had precise astronomical knowledge of the path of the sun
01:16:10built between the 7th and 9th centuries
01:16:13the stone temples of Tikal
01:16:15tower more than 200 feet above the Guatemalan rainforest
01:16:21Tikal is home to one of the largest excavation sites in the world
01:16:26one where thousands of structures still remain buried beneath the jungle
01:16:30according to most scientists
01:16:32Tikal's pyramids played an essential part in helping the Mayans devise their calendar
01:16:40by aligning the sight lines between the highest points of the structures
01:16:44ancient astronomers could pinpoint the most important dates of the year
01:16:48such as an upcoming equinox or solstice
01:16:54but what also excites ancient astronaut theorists
01:16:58is how perfectly the layout of Tikal's pyramids correlate to the star map
01:17:04of the Pleiades Orion region of the sky
01:17:06an overhead view of the structures
01:17:09almost exactly mirrors the alignment of the constellation
01:17:14this same outline has been spotted in an area far from Tikal
01:17:20much, much farther
01:17:22recently discovered on Mars
01:17:25is a cluster of landforms
01:17:27that offers a near perfect replication of the pyramid pattern of Tikal
01:17:32three distinct locations
01:17:35one unique pattern
01:17:37coincidence
01:17:39or design
01:17:44at Tikal
01:17:45the legends
01:17:46and the mythologies
01:17:47that we have
01:17:49all speak
01:17:50of a time
01:17:51when the gods
01:17:53intermingled
01:17:55and interconnected
01:17:56with our ancestors
01:17:58so Tikal also was built
01:18:02as a message
01:18:04for future generations
01:18:05to see
01:18:06that a long, long time ago
01:18:08we were visited
01:18:10by extraterrestrials
01:18:12someone who had seen this
01:18:14had to have actually relayed the information to them
01:18:16because they couldn't have just guessed
01:18:18so
01:18:18it really starts to raise the question of saying
01:18:20this ancient astronaut theory
01:18:22really needs to have more light shed on the topic
01:18:29it's certainly possible that the ancient people not only measured
01:18:33all of these
01:18:34astronomy events
01:18:36but were able to come up with a mathematical theory
01:18:38to put them together
01:18:40and then to predict new things
01:18:42we shouldn't think that the ancient people were dummies
01:18:46early man people in ancient times
01:18:49didn't have dashboard mounted GPS units
01:18:53they had the path of the sun through the sky
01:18:57the path of the moon through the sky
01:18:59they could see the stars at night
01:19:02these were permanent fixtures that they could navigate from
01:19:06so it's not surprising at all
01:19:08that almost every culture
01:19:11recorded astronomical phenomenon
01:19:14we never look up at the sky and enjoy the beauty of it
01:19:17ancient people
01:19:19the skies would be so dark
01:19:21and the stars would be so bright
01:19:23not only that
01:19:24but they relied on the sky
01:19:25for directions
01:19:26for seasons in which to plant
01:19:30and for a variety of things
01:19:32today
01:19:33with our GPS units
01:19:35and navigation systems
01:19:37and computers
01:19:38we don't need to look at the sky
01:19:41I want to be very clear about one thing
01:19:44that our ancestors were as smart as we are today
01:19:49however
01:19:50I don't believe that ancient astronauts visited the earth in the remote past
01:19:54I am convinced of it
01:19:56because of all the countless indications and pieces of evidence
01:20:02that we can find from all around the world
01:20:04in different ancient cultures
01:20:06in different mythologies and legends
01:20:09I know it happened
01:20:11because if you look at all the pieces
01:20:15it's the only conclusion that you can draw
01:20:20but just why were ancient people so focused on the sky and the stars in the first place
01:20:27were they waiting for something to happen
01:20:30or perhaps
01:20:31for something
01:20:32or someone
01:20:34to return
01:20:44four decades may have passed
01:20:46but the ideas put forth
01:20:48by Erich von Daniken
01:20:50are still captivating his followers
01:20:52and frustrating his skeptics
01:20:54to this day
01:20:55like an Old Testament prophet
01:20:58or an ancient shaman
01:20:59the author is still out there
01:21:01spreading his firmly held message
01:21:03that we are not alone
01:21:05The Steinzeit Heinichs
01:21:07have not taken over thousands of kilometers
01:21:09a straight line
01:21:10a straight line
01:21:10a part of the river
01:21:11and our Steinzeit friends
01:21:13have not taken over thousands of stones
01:21:16in geometrical shapes
01:21:17here
01:21:18the regime is carried out
01:21:19but while the proof
01:21:21of von Daniken's theories may be debatable
01:21:24their influence on movies
01:21:27TV series
01:21:30and even radio programs
01:21:32is undeniable
01:21:34it's a tremendous lightning rod
01:21:36for fiction
01:21:37and for fictional storytelling
01:21:39the classic Battlestar Galactica series
01:21:41started with a narration
01:21:42that said
01:21:43there are those who believe
01:21:44that life here
01:21:45began out there
01:21:46with tribes of humans
01:21:47far across the universe
01:21:48that may have been the forefathers
01:21:49of the Egyptians
01:21:50and the Toltecs
01:21:51and the Mayans
01:21:51you know that's straight out of von Daniken
01:21:53as in that kind of belief
01:21:54you know
01:21:55it puts us in contact
01:21:56with an idea of a mythological intelligence
01:21:58and that is one of the things
01:22:00that we as human beings
01:22:01crave desperately
01:22:02is to know that we are not alone
01:22:04in the world
01:22:04and that somebody else out there
01:22:05is either looking after us
01:22:07or coming to fight for us
01:22:08and that will unite us
01:22:09against the common enemy
01:22:15I was reading a lot of books
01:22:17from Erich von Daniken
01:22:19and I can imagine
01:22:21that's the truth
01:22:22what he wrote
01:22:24and his books
01:22:24and so I can imagine this
01:22:26that we had
01:22:28help from aliens
01:22:29but
01:22:30I don't know
01:22:31I'm not sure
01:22:33we only know
01:22:34so much in this world
01:22:36and what we do know
01:22:37is so limited
01:22:37and every day
01:22:38we're finding more
01:22:39that require us
01:22:40to ask more questions
01:22:41and bigger questions
01:22:42and think bigger
01:22:43it's possible
01:22:44that something
01:22:45from another planet
01:22:46came
01:22:47some other life form
01:22:48intelligent life form
01:22:49came and did this
01:22:53I mean who knows
01:22:54it could be
01:22:55because the origins of many things
01:22:57are lost in antiquity
01:22:59all we have are remnants
01:23:00and shreds of evidence
01:23:02to suggest
01:23:02what might have happened
01:23:05someone told me
01:23:06that it was proven
01:23:06that aliens
01:23:08had a part in this
01:23:09I wouldn't be that surprised
01:23:11why not?
01:23:13to be honest
01:23:15ancient astronaut theory
01:23:16has never cropped up
01:23:19in a discussion
01:23:19with my colleagues
01:23:21I don't care how many pints
01:23:23into it we've been
01:23:24we have never discussed
01:23:26ancient astronaut theory
01:23:28in any credible way
01:23:29whatsoever
01:23:30one of the good things about
01:23:32ancient astronaut theory
01:23:34is that it makes us think
01:23:36it brings out
01:23:38what about this
01:23:40what about that
01:23:41we need explanations
01:23:42for all these things
01:23:43and I think
01:23:44that one of the main reasons
01:23:45why mainstream archaeologists
01:23:48get a real knee-jerk reaction
01:23:50to the ancient astronaut theory
01:23:52is that it's very disturbing
01:23:54to them because
01:23:55they don't have all the answers
01:23:57now some of them may believe
01:23:59that life could exist in the universe
01:24:01but their bottom line is
01:24:03show me the proof
01:24:05show it to me for real
01:24:07I want to see the spaceship
01:24:09I want to see something concrete
01:24:11not just a few pictures
01:24:12that everybody can interpret
01:24:14as being this or that
01:24:20far-fetched
01:24:22ridiculous
01:24:23insane
01:24:25ancient aliens visiting Earth centuries ago
01:24:28building monuments
01:24:31influencing scripture
01:24:33but what if it all turned out
01:24:35to be true
01:24:37what would happen
01:24:39if just one piece of evidence
01:24:41turned up
01:24:41one stone
01:24:43one key
01:24:44that proved that Von Daniken
01:24:46had been right
01:24:46all along
01:24:49and if he is right
01:24:50what does that suggest
01:24:51about our future
01:24:53if alien visitors
01:24:55had come here before
01:24:57would they come
01:24:58again
01:25:03even I think the idea
01:25:05of aliens
01:25:06and them visiting us
01:25:07is very exciting
01:25:08and interesting
01:25:08and it would be really cool
01:25:10if that happened
01:25:10so it gets people excited
01:25:12about the question
01:25:13maybe they start thinking
01:25:14about it
01:25:15and like many things
01:25:16they might ultimately come
01:25:17to thinking about the physics
01:25:18or the archaeology
01:25:19and get involved in the
01:25:20scientific process
01:25:21so that can be a positive
01:25:22side effect
01:25:23of these theories
01:25:24and their popularization
01:25:25if it turns out
01:25:27that the ancient astronaut theory
01:25:30is wrong
01:25:30I will be the first one
01:25:32to say
01:25:33okay
01:25:34no problem
01:25:36but so far
01:25:38certain pieces of evidence
01:25:40have not been debunked
01:25:51if the ancient alien astronaut theory
01:25:53is somehow proven to be true
01:25:55this would be a huge boon
01:25:58to my work
01:25:59and to the search for other planets like earth
01:26:01with life on them
01:26:02because if alien astronauts have visited earth
01:26:05in the distant past
01:26:06it means they're pretty nearby
01:26:08and it means that we don't have to look very far
01:26:10to find planets like earth
01:26:12with signs of life on them
01:26:14but evidence has to be treated
01:26:17with a great deal of caution
01:26:18because it has different meanings
01:26:22I'm not sure what the reaction
01:26:24of the population would be
01:26:28it will strengthen
01:26:29the general concept
01:26:31that our history of religions
01:26:34in the world
01:26:34needs to be looked at again
01:26:36with more respect
01:26:37and also with more wonder
01:26:38meaning
01:26:39what are we supposed to make of this now
01:26:41and what are we supposed to be doing with this now
01:26:43if science detects life on mars
01:26:47if science detects a ufo
01:26:50then we need to take what science is saying to us
01:26:54and begin to rethink about ourselves
01:26:56on earth
01:26:57in light of the possibility of new life
01:27:00does that change our understanding of god
01:27:03it should if anything broaden it
01:27:06if we do find alien life
01:27:08if we do find alien life
01:27:09we should rejoice
01:27:12and honestly the way things are going on this planet right now
01:27:15I would welcome a visitation
01:27:17every once in a while
01:27:18a little help
01:27:21there is no doubt
01:27:22there is no doubt
01:27:23that my hypothesis
01:27:23will be accepted
01:27:25by the mainstream
01:27:26it may be a question of just
01:27:28five or ten years
01:27:32sooner or later
01:27:33we will have contact
01:27:34with someone out there
01:27:35and then
01:27:36the thinking
01:27:37they will return
01:27:39and if you don't listen to eric von deniken
01:27:41you will have
01:27:42the shock
01:27:43of the gods
01:27:44we must
01:27:44at least
01:27:44the gods
01:27:45and the gods
01:27:46the gods
01:27:46and the gods
01:27:47and the gods
01:27:48and the gods
