00:00Just hours ago, Smyrna Police shared an update on a disturbing case after finding a plastic tub with a part
00:06of a dismembered victim inside of it.
00:08Police arrested 18-year-old Kingston Lamar Bradley in connection to that case.
00:1211 Alive's Jamel Johnson is live for us right now at Smyrna Police Headquarters.
00:16Jamel, what are police now saying about this investigation?
00:22Yeah, Cheryl and Zach, there was a lot to unpack from that press conference.
00:26It happened just like an hour and a half ago.
00:28But police said this investigation has truly just begun.
00:31They're trying to figure out the details of what actually led up to the death and dismemberment of who the
00:35family tells us is Shanteria KT Mosley.
00:39She was 26-year-old.
00:40They have arrested Kingston Lamar Bradley.
00:42He is 18-year-old, but they have not directly charged him with murder.
00:46They've only charged him with concealing of a death right now.
00:50But they do say he is the main person of interest in her murder.
00:52They are also talking to his family and the father who lives in that same apartment with Bradley.
00:59Now, police say they returned to the apartment complex after the family reported they had found the torso of Mosley,
01:05identifying her by her tattoo.
01:07This was after police had already sent an officer out to the complex to help search for Mosley.
01:12This officer stayed for about 30 minutes before leaving the scene.
01:15Police say about an hour and a half after that, the family discovered her body in the plastic tub.
01:20Police then arrived back to the complex at 8.15.
01:24The family says Mosley was door dashing in the area and planned to wrap up around 2 in the afternoon
01:29so she could pick up her sister from school.
01:31However, after almost eight hours of not hearing from her, they decided to search for her using her phone's location.
01:37That's when they searched the complex themselves, and they say they found Bradley holding the plastic tote with the remains
01:42of Mosley.
01:43However, police tell us door dash confirmed she was not completing any orders at this apartment complex,
01:51and this is a part of the investigation into if and how Bradley and Mosley could have known each other.
01:56Police have issued multiple search warrants and are taking talking evidence from the complex and conducting interviews with witnesses.
02:04This is a particularly gruesome crime.
02:07I cannot imagine what the family is going through, you know, on top of dealing with the loss of a
02:15loved one
02:16and dealing with the loss of a loved one in this type of manner, and having to be involved with
02:20police and media
02:22and just everything that comes with it.
02:25I know that they are looking for answers and grieving at the same time, and we're continuing to work this
02:31case.
02:34Now, police or the medical examiner, excuse me, has not officially identified the victim or the manner of death.
02:40Now, Bradley also has an open case from 2024 dating back to a fight with his father.
02:45In those warrants, it said he smashed an Xbox controller over his father's head, broke down his bedroom door,
02:52and he also slammed a 15-year-old into a window.
02:56That case is ongoing.
02:57And dating back earlier to this week, court filings also state that Bradley was trying to get admittance
03:03into an inpatient mental health treatment facility.
03:07In Smyrna, Jamel Johnson, 11 Alive News.
03:09All right, we know you're going to continue to stay on top of every development here, Jamel.
03:13Thank you.
