00:00A model came to me with her toes in this condition.
00:03I am purposely showing them from the edge, from the side and from all angles so you can get the
00:08full picture. The little toe is definitely in the worst shape tilting onto the neighboring toe
00:13but all the other toes leave much to be desired too. Some are twisted, some are rotated and some
00:19just don't look very good at all judging by their appearance. Today we will be treating these nails
00:24and I'll tell you the story behind them. But first I'll take the antibacterial cleansing foam
00:29from Domix. It prepares the skin for treatment and of course serves its main purpose. It cleanses.
00:35Next I'll take nail nippers. These are NP04 podo series from Nipom nippers which I'll use to trim
00:43down the length of the free edge as well as those troublesome sharp corners. To ensure comfortable
00:49drill bit work as always I'm using talcum powder by Domix. For it to work properly you need to apply
00:55it and then massage it in a bit. I will remove the main bulk of the thickened nails using a
01:00carbide
01:01drill bit. In manicures you shouldn't file down natural nails with a drill bit but in pedicures
01:06when there's an obviously super thick layer it's a great solution for speeding things up during the
01:10procedure. I perform the same procedure on the big toe as well. Most often after this kind of treatment
01:16looking at the free edge reveals that the tension on the nail has eased up a bit and it's starting
01:22to open
01:22up slightly. Because the thicker and denser the nail plate is the greater the pressure. Next I switched
01:28to working with diamond beads and all my beads as always are from the chemis company. Here I have a
01:34red and blue band. This is probably one of the most versatile beads. I use this one both in manicures
01:40and pedicures. I don't go very deep in the cuticle area or along the nail sinuses but in the lateral
01:46nail
01:46folds I really made an effort. The renovator is an absolute must-have on my pedicure card. I use it
01:51very
01:52often in my work because this product really helps to clean out the lateral nail folds using the
01:56renovator. And the curette, it softens dry skin and sabangual debris and it also lets me freely
02:03inspect everything that's in the corners and under the nails. And I'll reveal the secret behind the
02:09condition of her feet. This woman wears very uncomfortable narrow and tight-fitting shoes.
02:13But the most interesting thing is that during our conversation I realized she has absolutely no
02:18intention of changing anything because for her the aesthetic part is much more important.
02:22And that can happen with clients. I think every foot care specialist has encountered that one
02:27client who says, no, I will keep wearing my dress shoes. So all we can do in this situation is
02:33explain
02:33to the client what risks await her and what the future consequences will be. And provide all the
02:39necessary care, perform proper treatment and relieve as much pressure from the nails as possible. And of
02:44course, hope that you will still consider buying a more comfortable pair of shoes.
