00:20gonna start with this take a team Alexis we're starting I'm staying neutral we're
00:26gonna start with this one for the New York Times if you're worried about your
00:29college kid and you have enough money you can now pay for a local mom no it's
00:35not it's a thing so what some universities parents are paying services
00:39like bomb a mama in Alabama campus mom in Texas they say they are catering to a
00:45new generation of worried parents who let's face it are much more involved in
00:49their kids yes the helicopter parents are real lives yeah so this is it could be a
00:54few hundred dollars up to a few thousand dollars here's what you'll get for the
00:58stand-in mom they will do the kids laundry go clean up their dorm room help
01:04them a pledge for fraternities oh my balloons on their birthday and chicken
01:08soup when they I love that and you know what if you have heard college learning
01:13these life skills well that's the thing and if you haven't heard from your kid
01:16they'll even go and say knock knock send your parents your mother some photos or call
01:20your mother your real mother not the one that you're paying I you don't like this
01:24idea would this have would this have gone over well in your my parents dropped me
01:31off and said bye and then it was right on me you know occasional stressed out
01:35phone call but that was about it what about you are you gonna hire a mom no I
01:39definitely will not be doing that but I do it I mean I have heard you know you go to
01:42school you don't like we have to get a prescription you have to go get food or
01:44something you don't have a car what are you gonna do they actually said that
01:48they'd pick up prescriptions but that's called you there are other ways to do
01:52that you don't need the surrogate mom to come in now I do know having grown up in
01:56Chapel Hill that it's some fraternities and sororities there's like a woman who
02:00will live in the house and do some of these things it's not like a bespoke not
02:04like one-on-one in this way I don't know I think it's a little Bama mama Bama
02:09mama Alabama Wow all right moving on all right that's interesting it's a growth
02:16industry it sounds like I think it is they they found that they found the need
02:20and they are they are catering to it catering to it okay so the high-stakes
02:24pursuit of smuggling butter home from Paris so this one story I'm into yeah me
02:30too I'm with you so this is the must-have souvenir by the way artisanal
02:34butter yeah but the challenge of course is how do you get it back in one piece on
02:38like a nine-hour flight to the city imagine that's the issue yeah so first
02:41of all why is this trend happening well first of all you have the Olympics
02:44there in 2024 things have gone crazy on social so it's sort of like you know
02:48fueling this trend here's what a lot of the places in France now we're doing
02:52because they understand this is what tourists want their vacuum sealing the
02:56butter aha then you bring it back to the hotel or the Airbnb and reconstitute it
03:00yeah yeah basically and then you're supposed to put it in your check-in baggage not
03:05your carry-on and here's why are you ready for it
03:07because it's at the discretion of the security yeah say it because it looks
03:11like a plastic explosive oh my god that's a better excuse no no like when
03:17you scan it it might look like something not great look like might look like
03:21syntax or something I feel like we have to delve deeper into this there was one
03:26security guard at the airport in Paris who said it could melt and become a
03:30liquid even though it's a solid now so they had to throw out there eight bars of
03:34butter and they're expensive they can go anywhere from like eight bucks to twenty
03:37dollars if you get why is it better why is French butter better you know it's
03:42higher fat content more complex you know rich creaminess rich creaminess you had
03:48to get higher fat content I'm here for it I'm here for it interesting all right
03:51now business insider actually a few outlets have this one to be fair is it
03:56here's a question is it unprofessional to bring iced coffee to a job interview
04:00was everywhere okay this has gone viral but it's a true is it unprofessional to
04:04bring an iced coffee to a job interview yeah because there was a recent tiktok
04:08posted by a recruiter yeah who sparked the debate saying it is not professional
04:13that it comes across as too casual like your interview was sort of like on your
04:17way to running other errands interesting and then here's a question that I
04:21didn't think about the article is what if you have if they go oh can we take a look at
04:26your resume now you have to put the coffee down you leave a water ring on
04:31the person's desk how do you wipe that it creates that's the thing it's like I've
04:35I've when I was younger I used to think like having a little coffee like made me
04:39look professional and I'd be like oh I'm here but usually I would like leave it
04:42in the lobby but also the iced coffee it is messy it is sloppy and the
04:45recruiter was like I don't want like I'm gonna shake your hand it's gonna be cold
04:48you're you're to your point it's gonna wilt your paper it's just like you don't
04:52need your emotional support coffee for like the 20 minutes of this
04:55interview you're gonna be okay I say hot or cold don't bring it in don't bring
04:58your own 20 minutes an hour half hour just don't do it would you you interview
05:02people for jobs I do here at Bloomberg World Headquarters do you bring an iced
05:06coffee to those interviews as the interviewer oh interesting no I don't
05:10think I do that either I would bring a traveler like this this seems compact and
05:14non-offensive and it wouldn't bother me if someone brought a coffee like this
05:17but an iced coffee and you know there was like shaking the ice and yeah I just
05:21think you know if first impressions you can only make a first impression I never
05:23drink iced coffee but would you bring that coffee absolutely yeah I think you
05:28would I'm I'm staying caffeinated and you should know that no one drinks more

05:35greatest perk it is fueling the show at least yes all right last one all right
05:39last one we do you know what the three most dreaded words are that no one wants
05:43to hear David Gurra's here ready okay what's for dinner apparently this is a
05:53big pain point for American family so half of US families now are both parents
05:56working full-time by the time 4 p.m. rolls around on any given day 80% of
06:01Americans still don't know what they're gonna have for dinner this is a this is
06:05real issue yeah and so this then means leads people to you know searching for
06:10unhealthy options because oftentimes those are the quick options the old
06:13chips and salsa do you know I tied you over do you plan meals out for the week I
06:17do not I will say that because if I said we I would be in trouble for saying
06:21someone in your family plan them out for the week ah that's really the try to do
06:24that try to do that you know I try to buy the ingredients and participate in the
06:27sous-chefery companies are trying to capitalize on this too coming up with
06:31like you know quick meal kits and blue apron and the like Alexis thank you very
