00:04time and I do still want one but for the longest time I've talked about how it's my dream car,

00:09how I want to add that car to the driveway, how I want to make content on that car for

00:13and I will. I promise I will but there's a car that I have to get before that. A car

00:17that fits

00:18the lore of this channel a little bit better. As far back as I can remember I've been screaming at

00:22these cars at Cars and Coffee in the parking lot of high-end malls and it's started a cult-like

00:26following to the point where when I go to Cars and Coffee and people come up to me they don't

00:30say

00:30hello. They just say two words. I drive! Now the car that I'm sitting on is my 2025 Tesla Model

00:353.

00:35None of you guys like this car. Rightfully so. It's not an enthusiast car. It's soulless. Some people say

00:40it's boring. I think it's a great daily driver but we're not going to see it on the channel anymore

00:44but I am not getting rid of it. We're going to keep this. It's going to be my daily driver

00:47because the

00:48new car that we are getting is notoriously unreliable. Now some people would argue that

00:52this is a great daily driver and it doesn't have as many problems as a lot of people think they

00:56do

00:57but we're getting into some risky territory here. We're talking about 118,000 mile example

01:02that has seven owners. The original Facebook marketplace ad said that it had two owners

01:06which kind of drew me in and then I pulled the car fax found out that there were seven owners

01:10found out that pretty much every part on that car has been replaced so it's uh it's pretty apparent

01:14that this might be one of the worst financial decisions I've ever made in my entire life but we

01:18got to do it for the culture. We got to do it for the culture. It feels right but it

01:21might be so

01:22wrong. Now I posted a video with some hints about the car naturally aspirated v8 118,000 miles

01:27christen car spec those all could have translated to a c7 corvette which a lot of you thought it was

01:32and again I do apologize for that um because those people are probably going to be very disappointed

01:36when they see the new car that I bought. Some people guessed that I got an Audi r8 an Aston

01:41Morton Vantage other cars that I've hinted at as well. I wish this video was me buying one of those

01:46cars because I'm buying a family SUV that's notorious for being a reliability nightmare

01:52and it's probably going to leak oil in my driveway. I keep talking myself off of the ledge then back

01:56on the ledge then off the ledge and I just have to pull the trigger. So on that note we

02:00have a

02:01couple of errands to run today. I got to go get insurance on the car and I have to go

02:04to the bank

02:04and take out some cash so let's get right into it. Now it's probably important to go over where the

02:10Range Rover lore started for those who don't know. I used to do car spotting videos when I lived in

02:14New York at a mall called the Americana Manhasset in one of the wealthiest zip codes in the country

02:18and pretty much every other car you saw there was a Range Rover and I had a very loud speaking

02:24and the mic was always very close to my mouth. So every time I would say it it would blare

02:28through

02:28the speakers and everybody was commenting Range Rover in all caps which led me to lean into the

02:33voice a little bit more and you guys seem to love it so it ended up becoming a big part

02:37of the channel

02:37and a big part of connecting with the community. Like I said every time I go to Cars and Coffee

02:42somebody comes up to me and they just go Range Rover. This has got to be an omen right here.

02:52Not that they're super rare cars but the fact that there was one passing as I'm talking about the

02:57Range Rover lore of the channel. That's got to be good news. Well folks we made it to State Farm.

03:07circle moment. Kind of not really because I'm not buying a supercar or a hypercar. I'm buying a very

03:12inexpensive seven owner 120,000 mile car but nevertheless let's get some insurance. Folks

03:21not going to record in there because I don't know what rules and regulations there are about making

03:25YouTube videos in the bank but we'll see you when we have some more cash in our hand. Now it's

03:29a good time to tell you guys that I paid $6,500 for this car. I don't know if I

03:33overpaid or if I

03:34underpaid. It really depends on how many things are wrong with the car and I probably shouldn't be

03:40flashing a wad of cash right outside in the parking lot of the bank. So I'm going to put

03:44this away and we'll see you guys on the way over to go pick up the new car.

03:56Well ladies and gentlemen I am not in a Tesla Model 3. I am in a 2013 ride drive. We

04:01did it. We pulled

04:02the trigger. I didn't think we were going to when we got there but everything worked out

04:06and she drives like a charm. I'm going to jinx myself and it's not going to work in 10 minutes

04:11but it's not perfect. No 15 year old car is let alone one of the most notoriously unreliable cars

04:17but mechanically knock on the steering wheel. It really doesn't have any issues. It's getting a

04:21little bit late. The sun is going to set. We have about an hour and a half until I get

04:25back home so

04:25it's going to be the same video but we're going to do a more in-depth walk around and tell

04:30you

04:30everything that's right and tell you everything that's wrong with my new car. You know I kept saying car

04:35which is another reason why people probably thought I got a Corvette. It's not a car. It's

04:39a sport utility vehicle. I don't know if I feel like you know a million bucks riding around in this

04:44but you know I feel like 60 grand. Yeah I mean the steering wheel is you know it's a little

04:50bit to

04:50the left. It's got a little bit of a left curve. There could be worse issues. This is one of

04:53those

04:54moments folks. One of those great great moments on a beautiful day and I am now the proud owner of

04:59a

04:59Range Rover. Ladies and gentlemen the moment you've all been waiting for. My new to me 2013 Range Rover Sport

05:04HSC. Now I drove the car about an hour and a half last night. It was about 80 miles and

05:20it took it

05:21like a champ. The engine runs so smoothly. The transmission runs decently smooth and there are

05:26no knock on the hood mechanical problems with this car so far. I know I've only owned it for less

05:31than a

05:32day but that's a that's a pretty good track record for a car like this. Cosmetically it needs some

05:36tender love and care which we're going to give to it but here's everything you need to know about the

05:40car. Now to my knowledge there were a couple of different engine options that you could choose

05:43with the Range Rover Sports. This has the 5 liter naturally aspirated V8 which I'm happy about

05:47because I don't want to deal with supercharger issues but it makes 375 horsepower. It has 375 pound

05:53feet of torque and it'll go there to 60 in a very slow eight and a half seconds which I

05:57kind of

05:57anticipated considering this car weighs 5,500 pounds. Now this V8 has a ton of potential to

06:03sound really really good but at its current state I've heard better Dyson vacuum cleaners.

06:11That was probably like a $38 rev. From the factory it got about 11 miles per gallon. This car is

06:17almost

06:1715 years old so I assume it doesn't get that great of gas mileage and of course the price of

06:21oil just

06:22absolutely skyrocketed. I brought it to the gas station yesterday. It had a quarter tank so it needed

06:27three quarters of a tank and at $4.80 a gallon it was an $80 fill up which might send

06:32me into

06:32financial turmoil quicker than the repair bill that I'm going to get on this hunk of luxury SUV. Now

06:37the overall exterior it absolutely needs some love. The hood is completely faded so that's going to need

06:42probably a compound, a polish, and a wax. The wheels I'm pretty sure every one of the four wheels is

06:47curbed. I don't know how you curb each corner of the wheel but the previous seven owners managed to do

06:53that pretty good and the front tires are a different brand than the rear tires. I'm pretty

06:57sure this car is all-wheel drive so I'm not sure why they're mismatched and why they were replaced at

07:02different times but for $6,500 I'm not all that worried about it. And of course there are some

07:06dents and dings throughout. I don't know if I'm going to worry about every tiny little imperfection but

07:11we're definitely going to get this cleaned up really really nice. I wouldn't say we're going to turn

07:14it into a concourse car but we're uh we're going to make it look a little bit better than it

07:19sits right

07:19now and the observant viewer would note that the Range Rover badging is certainly faded but we're

07:24going to replace that anyway because they spelt the name wrong from factory. R-O-V-E-R? Crazy. Now

07:29one of the things that you have to look out for on these cars is the air suspension that it

07:32comes

07:32with because it typically never works in older examples. When I was test driving the car I put it

07:37in park and I tried to lower the suspension. I got a warning light so I wasn't going to buy

07:41the car

07:41but then I tried it again and it worked so I'm chalking that up as a win and I haven't

07:46tried the

07:46air suspension since then so let's see if it works. It works like a charm! Who would have thought? The

07:54interior is in suboptimal shape it's definitely showing signs of wear which was anticipated and

07:59honestly if cosmetics are the only thing that I have to worry about with this car I think we're in

08:02pretty great shape. The leather on the seats is cracking a good bit the steering wheel leather is

08:06cracking the center stack has definitely seen better days but those are things I can live with.

08:10We're going to do a big TLC a big restoration on this thing and we're going to bring it back

08:14to new.

08:14At $6,500 I think I got a great deal. The market on similar examples was like $9,000 to

08:19$12,000 so I

08:21figured getting the cheapest one I was going to have some problems right off the bat which I'm not

08:25having any problems. Again I'm probably going to eat those words and the next video is going to be

08:29my Range Rover blew up but we're crossing our fingers and we're going to hope throughout my whole

08:33ownership of this car that everything is reasonably reliable. All things considered I'm super happy I

08:38pulled the trigger on buying one of these. I think it's going to be a ton of fun. I think

08:41it's going to

08:42make for some great content. Again I do apologize that it is not a sports car or a supercar but

08:46we're

08:47moving in steps here and if all works out with this then the next car that we add will probably
