आज लद्दाख में उस घटना की पहली बरसी मनाई गई, जिसमें निहत्थे युवाओं पर AK-47 से कथित तौर पर अंधाधुंध फायरिंग की गई थी। इस घटना में 5 लोगों की मौत हुई, 80 से अधिक लोग घायल हुए और 80 से अधिक लोगों के खिलाफ FIR दर्ज की गई।
एक साल बीत जाने के बाद भी न्यायिक जांच आयोग की रिपोर्ट को सार्वजनिक नहीं किया गया है। वहीं, मृतकों के लिए महज 15 लाख रुपये और गंभीर रूप से घायल लोगों के लिए 3 लाख रुपये के मुआवजे की घोषणा की गई है।

Today, Ladakh marked the first anniversary of the incident in which unarmed youths were allegedly subjected to indiscriminate firing with AK-47s. The incident resulted in the deaths of five people, injuries to more than 80, and FIRs being filed against over 80 people.
Even after a year, the report of the Judicial Inquiry Commission has not been made public. Meanwhile, compensation of just ₹15 lakh has been announced for the families of those killed and ₹3 lakh for those who were seriously injured.
